Thanks for the condolences. I never was sure if I believed the saying when someone passes, "It was a blessing, he is in a better place" but after what my Mother had to go thru with caring for him and the humiliation he went thru with the disease he suffered from I truly believe that now.
Can't wait for the vacation. She will love it.

Very sorry to hear about your dad, and I know what you mean about the saying of it being a blessing. If you are in the situation, you see that it can be true.

Enjoy the cruise with your mom and hopefully we'll all get to meet!

Will also be on the Dec 10th Wonder!!!!!! Staying a few nights before at AKL. Taking my mother with me. She has not been able to travel for 7 years because she ended up taking care of my dad who had Parkinson's. She was a 24 hr caregiver at home for him for the last 1 1/2 years. He passed away on May 31. It's time to get her back out there and traveling so this is my gift to her. Can't wait, she needs this!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about your dad and I understand what your mom and you have gone through. Diseases like Parkinsons are so ugly for everyone but your dad was so fortunate to have your mom. She must be a wonderful person. I'm so glad you and your mom can join our great group of people and I am sure you will both love AKL.

nope not time to leave it, coming soon and I am more excited then ever. Cruise is coming and Yankees are in the World Series

We are nearing the deadline to sign up for the FE exchange. We have 16 cabins participating. There are 8 boys and 8 girls. I will finalize the list this Saturday and email it Sunday.

I have almost all my stuff - just need to assemble it as well...and make ONE more thing...the thing I've been procrastinating on!

Only 39 days to go for me...

Here is an FE question for packing. If I am going to Disney before the cruise, and I ship a box with FE stuff, should I ship it to my hotel or will the ship hold it as I'd be shipping early?

Also - can I ship prepackaged food to the ship???

You can ship one box to the ship but it cannot contain any food items according to the FAQ in the sticky area of the cruise board. There are specific instructions there for sending a package to the ship.

Thanks, I was at work when I posted and didn't have time to read the sticky but I thought that was the case. Perhaps I'll ship to the hotel then and then bring it on the ship. All depends how full the suitcases are.

I'm so bad. I've been glued to these boards for a year and a half. Planning...Planning...Planning...NOW I've got to get busy and start doing. I'm gonna run out of time!!!!

So my husband says to me this afternoon while I'm out doing yard work, "you know that fish exchange thing? I wonder if Donna (his sister) would like to do it too?" Jeez, nothing like waiting to the last minute!
So I said, well you better ask her and explain it all quickly. People are already buying and making things. Cripes.

I will update as soon as I hear. But just in case, they are in a cabin with Mom, Dad and one son who is almost 16. Their other son is 19 and is in a cabin with my MIL and other SIL. I'm not even going to think about them doing the FE!

So now I'm off updating my binder, making lists of all the things I need to do, and generally panicking! Have to get through Halloween and then things will ease up (hopefully!).

so who all here are into going to the clubs at night, hope some of you are so I will see you all there, last time on the Wonder the college people I meet were all kind of boring and didn't go and other older people on the ship weren't into the club too much, so hope people on this thread will be going

nice that's what I saw on one of my past cruises for really. Ok it wasn't a wedding dress, but it was like a really nice dress the person was wearing she made friends with everyone in the club, fun times

I picked up some portions of our gifts today. Plus I have started to assemble another part. Then one more trip to the store for the last thing. I'm getting so excited!! Actually, there's one more thing - the FE itself!! The stocking that is!
