December 10, 2006 - 12/10/06 Wonder

I think they can arrive about 2 weeks before the cruise???? Sounds good to me, but not sure. :scratchin I got excited today when I got something - but it turned out to be another of the planning kits ( :confused3 - 3rd one).

We have to TRY to be patient (hahaha-easier said than done!) and I'll be contacting DCL if I don't get them in time---unless I decide to do everything on line. I've started (did the onboard payment page already). Have you thought about doing them online?

I have filled all of mine out online. We also prepaid $1000.00. That way our excursions are paid for as well as our standard gratuities. Hopefully we will get off the ship paying next to nothing. I tried to be prepared since Christmas was so close.

We have a project we head up every year for the baptist childrens village and we have started getting that stuff ready. I found out today that they want us to do our party the week before we leave. I asked for the week we get back.

I bought my giftwrap today so I could get a head start on the wrapping.

I still havent got my fish extender.....just cant decide. I bought one but decided later it was too drab.

Monica - Congrats on your verandah!!!

Monica - cool news about the upgrade!

Andrea - I right clicked on the picture and copied the URL address in the Properties tab - it seems to work easier for me that way:thumbsup2

I interview tomorrow for a promotion. Everyone wish me luck! I am so nervous I fell like:crazy: . I just found out I have to sit for a one on one interview with my ex-boss, in addition to the 2 other rounds of interviews tomorrow. I am pretty bummed, since I don't have the best relationship with my old boss (only happened since he was promoted). Oh well, I guess it will work out either way. I am afraid I won't get the job and I am afraid I will get the job, know what I mean??

I can't wait to get to FL so I can not think about any of this stuff anymore! I am waiting to find out what my bonus this year is, and that will determine my extra 'fun' money!

Happy almost weekend! Looking for fish extender and magnetic paper Saturday.
Kristen

I sat down in front of the computer today for an hour trying to design my door signs. Why am I making this so difficult? I haven't even thought about what to do for my magnets...I think I'm gonna go look at girlscout websites for swappies..those might make good magnets!

Kristen - Good Luck on your promotion. You will do very well on your interview. Have good thoughts and stay positive!!!! I am glad you posted the easier way for Andrea. I will have to remember that for next time.

Andrea - I love your blessed tag. It is so precious and how true it is.

I still have my cruise doors to do. I also need to laminate my mickey heads. I think I am going to make a christmas tree out of them. I pondered a wreath...just undecided.

Good luck, i know how you feel i had one interview today and i have two more next week-when you are done pass some of that luck this way.

Kristen - What time?? That way I can pray for you at the right time :)

Shawn - I'm sure you did WONDERfully on the interview you just had, and good luck to you on the upcoming ones too. Prayers for you too!

Tomorrow I have some time btwn work, and dinner at Ohana's so will be driving to a few stores and will let everyone know if I can find any Fish extenders (if there are a bunch, I'll take orders).

Wow! It sounds like a very exciting and opportunity filled Friday for our little group of travelers. Good Luck! I know that we will all be sending prayers, strength and pixie dust your way.
The concept of "I am afraid I won't get the job and I am afraid I will get the job" is one that we all face at least once! Everything will work out the way it is supposed to - you can be sure of that! Congratulations either way! I'm sure you will both do great! :goodvibes

On to trip stuff!

There's a veranda next to ours that is vacant - maybe we will be neighbors! Then we CAN be connected at the hip! :rotfl2: We were inside last time and decided to see the sea on this trip.

I found some really cute stockings/fish extenders this weekend but I don't want to get anything that is TOO cute because I am afraid that it will find feet and walk right off my fish. There were some fuzzy gift bags at the mall last night - I thought that might be a good option for $4.50. Won't it be fun to see what we all end up with!
As far as door decorations, I never got the printer set up so I went with what I had printed already. You know the third round of the DCL booklet can come in handy... I cut out several pictures from it, the cruise document folder from 2004, the excursion pamphlet from '04... get the picture? I used the sticky laminating paper from Sam's to make it all a bit more stiff and stuck magnet strips on the back of each one. It's a pile of stuff but it turned out pretty cute. I LOVE the mickey head wreath idea! Hmmmm - I may be copying that one, if you don't mind.

Happy Friday All!
Please keep us posted on the interview front!
I know we will be waiting to hear how great you both did!

How are you doing today??

I noticed that you have an Orange Blossom Balloon ride set up for this trip. That's who I just went with and had an AMAZING time.

Hello everyone!!! I hope everyone is having a great day. The children had a half day at school so we went with friends to eat at Olive Garden. I will post a little later on. I have to go run errands with William for a little while. I hope Kristen did fine on her interview. I also hope Shawn got the job that she wants. If I ever have an Idea worth "stealing" please feel free. I dont always feel like I have the best ideas. Ill be back in a couple of hours!

Yes, we are very excited

How'd it go????

I have been on pins and needles all day for you both!!!

I think my interviews (3!) today went pretty well. I am pleased and feel I did the best I could as honestly as I could. If I don't get it, it isn't because I blew it anyway.

Overall, it was a very good day - I am certified to graduate and the tough interviews are behind me. Now I can really concentrate on what is really important - my VACATION!

I just had a very odd call. Another parent of a 1st grader called to say they were lodging a complaint against the teacher for giving too much homework:confused3 . I don't think Riley has a lot - 1 page of 4 or 5 math problems, 1 page of math facts each night and 1 10 word spelling list each week. There is some reading also, but what do they expect? They are all first time 1st grade parents - I told her it gets worse in 2nd and 3rd grade, and 4th grade is the first time we haven't seen homework, and that is only because Emilee does it at school.

Speaking of school, I finally told the teachers yesterday about the kids being gone for 10 days. Both were nice about it and will work with us.

I guess it was a good week after all! Off to the hobby store tomorrow to find some cool decorating stuff for the door.:cool1:

Shawn - hope your interviews go well in the next couple of weeks! I had 3 rounds of an hour each today and by the last one I was exhausted from too much thinking!

I'm glad you did well in your interviews- In our profession you do oral boards where there are 3 or 4 experts who grill you. I guess that's why I have never changed jobs (I've worked at the same place since I was 17). Actually that's not accurate, I've changed jobs-but not locations!

Wow- I can't believe a parent is complaing about the homework. They should be glad they don't go to our school. My kindergartener has more homework than that! My 1st grader does a journal entry, math facts page, reading comprehesion worksheet and 20-30 minutes of reading each night. We also have 10 spelling words and the 100 high frequency word flashcards that we practice nightly. It works out to about an hour a night. Our 1st graders start the AR (advanced reader by renaissance learning) program too. They read certain books then take literacy tests. They have to take at least one test a week and that is outside of the 20-30 min reading/night.

Hi everyone! Just checking in. I had to work tonight :(, and I am just getting home now, and Mike is already in bed.

Glad to hear things went well at your job interview, Kristen! Between you and Shawn, I have been reminded that I should probably update my resume. :)

Tomorrow is a busy day for Mike and me. We just had an awful 1970s-style bathroom that we never used gutted down to its studs and completely renovated. It's almost done, except for painting, and we were lucky enough to score a really good painter to give us a same-day estimate, and he's able to start painting next week. :goodvibes I cannot even begin to tell you how awful the bathroom was before! So, tomorrow, we are going to buy the paint and hardware for the new vanity. We also got new windows and are picking out window treatments. I am sure this sounds soooooo boring to anyone else, but we have waited sooooo very long to get these repairs done (and not just done, but done correctly and well) that I can't even stand it. A Saturday afternoon at Lowes, and I'm excited! I am not so excited though to dust and vacuum after all the wood shavings and wood dust that comes from all these renovations!

So, what is everyone doing for Thanksgiving? By an act of God, Mike and I both scored off for Thanksgiving this year (we both work in a 24x7x365 job), and so we are hosting the holiday for my family. You might take this to mean that I am cooking, as would be reasonable to presume, but at our house, it is Thanksgiving Dinner a la Wegmans!
