December 10, 2006 - 12/10/06 Wonder

O. K. Here I am "Mrs. I dont want to be sick before the cruise" standing in the rain for two hours for the poor manatee to be rescued and they put it off until 7:00 in the morning!!!!!!! Seaworld decided to drive with a special container instead of airlifting it. The drive was longer than they anticipated. They actually got here around 6:00 p.m. . But its now dark. We had the best view over off a private dock area. I am not sure we will be able to get in the same area in the morning. There is a lot of house boats that people actually live in. So we will have to leave early in the morning to go see it. I was suppose to check Christie and Howard out of school for the Nascar parade down Beale Street. It has been raining so it may be called off. If not they will miss some school tomorrow. The parade is during lunch though. Then tomorrow night we get to go to fanfest. I really only want to see Kasey Kane!!! He is so cute and not too young for my neice!!!!

oh my!! Chickenpox and lice!! Send good "stay away all the is bad for the cruise" vibes your way!! :goodvibes

They were giving the flu vaccine at work today. Both DH and I decided against them. I was worried that I would get sick from it and being so close!! And second we are both in the medical field and I work in an emergency room. I am exposed to so much that I tell people that my immune system can take over small countries! :rotfl:

I am going to just stock up on Vit. C and sleep!!

I think we are going to get stockings for the cruise. It is too perfect!! Being so close to the holidays!!

I told DH that you guys have to stop looking at all the threads!! I just don't have time to make anything else!! :rotfl2: Everything is just too cute!!

I think that the stocking idea is a great one for the cruise!

I will have to look for some this weekend.

I now have to decide, personalized or disney stocking. I may go down to the Peabody and see if they have one that shouts "Memphis".

Kristen - Are yall still in the clear?

Kids brought home 2 notes from school today (each!):

1. Riley's best friend in 1st grade has chickenpox. He had the vaccine. None of us has had chickenpox, but have had the vaccine. Note says 10-20 days incubation - I am SO WORRIED! What if we get it in 20 days????

2. Second note - lice going around school. Ummmm...no vaccine for that:rolleyes: :sad2:

Can you imagine???? Being denied boarding because of chickenpox AND lice?

I am seriously sitting here itching all over my body right this instant!

Don't worry, people get lice having their hair braided on the islands all the time.

That's nothing new to them.

Ewwwww....now she is not getting her hair braided! We had it done at Sea World a couple of years ago and we left it in for like a month.

So far, so good!

I will also be stopping by the Give Kids the World Village to drop off some Halloween candy (I volunteer there).

That is so wonderful!!! You are awesome!!!

Monica - YOU rock!!!! I hope you are feeling better.

So is there a place to get braids on the ship? Christie hasnt mentioned it but the island is out. She only has shoulder length hair anyway. She probably wont want it.

Everyone should have their bracelets by now except Babybird. If you havent please let me know. Theirs was lost in the mail and as my memory serves me, I didnt have return address. I am mailing hers out tomorrow. So, if I need to I can mail more out.

You just will not believe this, but Seaworld got here yesterday and was supposed to "watch" it until this morning and LOST the manatee overnight. They have been searching all day. I stayed until 11:30 went to the nascar parade and took the children back to school. We are fixing to leave for the fan walk!!!!! I will check in when I get home.

I hope everyone is doing fine.

I thought I'd pop in to see what's going on, and perhaps post for a little bit of stress relief.

It has been a positively awful day. Tight deadlines for testing software releaseses and the icing on the cake was having a SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) auditor descend on me to boot! About as pleasant as having a tooth extracted. Seriously, shoving a fork in my eye would be more relaxing.

I am so in need of this vacation!

People say having it done on the ship is the smart thing to do.

Well, started the morning off good!! Locked myself out of my house as I was leaving to take Alexis to school! :rotfl2: My sister picked up Alexis yesterday from schoool and I left her the key to the house and I forgot to put it back on my keyring. I am glad my MIL lives close the school, went and picked up the spare.

Then I went shopping! :cool1: I got the transfer paper for the T-shirts I am going to make for the cruise. Sam's club had them (24 for about $15.00) Not a bad price!

I tried to change our resort for after the cruise. We are staying at the Port Orleans-Riverside (which we love) but there are a lot of Florida resident rate and AP rates that we wanted to see if there is anything else at a good deal. The hotels are booked!! The CM said that there are a lot of coventions and that is what is taking up the rooms. :confused3 oh well!! We are still have with the PO hotel.

However, Jeremy and my FIL aren't able to get a tee-time for the golf course on the day we get back from the cruise. Hopefully, someone will cancel and they will be able to get a time. They love golfing at Disney!!

We have a jammed packed week when we get back from the cruise.... :cheer2: We are doing the CP at EPCOT on Thursday. Friday, we booked the fireworks cruise for my in-laws to surprise them. They are going to love it!

I need to make an inventory list of all the stuff we have to bring before we sail. :sail:

Funny....there was a job opening in a town near me for an IT SOx auditor and I applied for it - then withdrew my application the day before my interview. Not becuase I don't think I would like the job, but I really like where I work now. I am up for a promotion and I think I am afraid of the consequences if I do get it. And if I dont get it!!

I could use your help this week. I have to write a test plan for a course I am taking. Yuck.

Just think...5 weeks, 5 weeks, 5 weeks....

I thought you could only book golfing 30 days out??????

That is what I have on my calendar and my Dad will be so sad if he can't golf!

It sure sounds like we all had the same delightful day. :furious:

Perhaps Friday will be better - just think we can all carve pumpkins this weekend and get all of the candy ready for the kids on Tuesday!

Here's to a SarBox free, stress free awesome TGIF! :bounce:

We just got back from the fan walk. We had a wonderful time. They were having a silent and live auction for St Jude Childrens Hospital. We bid on and won a hood off of Andretti's car, that was repainted for St Jude and autographed by him. It was also signed by John Schneider(bo duke) So after we purchased it John personalized it "To the Moores, Thank you St jude Hospital, John Schneider, Bo Duke, Dukes of Hazzard, Yee Haw, Samstown 250, 10-26-96" Then he put Christie and Howard on the stage by the hood and we took pictures. Everyone was taking pictures of them. Christie said she felt like a movie star. We were all so excited. He is still as cute as he was back then. He honestly still looks the same. B.B. Davenport(Cooters cousin) signed the hood too. Andretti also took pictures with Christie and Howard.

Iankh - I hope you have a better weekend.

Are the braids worth doing for the children? Does it hurt? Like do the pull it real tight? I take it from Neal that they do it on the ship.

Thanks for the sympathy. If you have any questions about your test plan, just PM me. Are they asking you to write a test plan, test strategy or a combo?

If anyone in your group is getting braids you really need to take some spray sunscreen with you on the trip - and use it! There were so many sun burned heads on our last cruise.
I think we were the only ones that didn't get fried at CC.
Every time Joe got out of the water I spritzed him with the spray sunscreen - it's great for the beach because you don't have to rub it in and you get ALL of you, not just where you rubbed the sunscreen lotion.

We have always booked earlier than 30 days out. They did say that there are usually cancellations. Which we are hoping for!

Wow - on page 2! I had to search to find us!

Well, my parents are on their way to Spain --- will be back on the 15th of November. Hot air balloon ride was amazing - definately recommend that you do this atleast 1 x if your lifetime (and I get motion sickness easily, and am scared of heights).

I FINALLY got my voice back yesterday (good and bad news on that one :-) )

Working again this weekend (had to call in the last several days due to my lack of voice)....ugh....not really looking forward to it. Oh well - I chose to have a full time job and a part time one.....

How is everyone else doing??
