Jdyer pm'd me. They will be onboard. Hopefully they will find the thread again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never really lost the thread...lost the time to look at it due to workload - it's been kinda crazy recently, so am really, really looking forward to the cruise now - it'll be a great break from everything!

Since everyone else has posted about themselves...there are two of us going on the cruise (DW and myself).
I'm a systems and networks administrator for an IT company, so on-call 24/7.
As such, my laptop and cell definetly stay at home whilst I am on holiday - there is no way I want my workplace to be able to contact me whilst on vacation!

We're staying at POFQ the week before the cruise, and SSR for the week before that.

After 8 months of trying to obtain the proper paper work my brother in-laws naturalization paper work is still not in order, so my sister and I just had a long talk and reached the decision to cancel our cruise while we can still get all of our $$$$ refunded. :sad2:

Background on this issue: My brother in law was born in Germany, to German citizens. They moved to the U.S. when he was an infant. His parents became American Citizens which made their children under 18 American Citizens as well. Well, both my BIL's parents passed away more than 20 years ago and none of the essential paper work can be found, my BIL's birth certificiate, his German Passport, his parents naturalization papers, etc. He always thought his sister had them, she thought an Aunt had them. He has been to the German consulate, filled out all kinds of forms, and now, we still have nothing, not an american passport nor a German passport. He cannot leave the country! Of course he is a citizen, as his parents were, and if that were not enough he has been married to my sister for 17 years! We will eventually get this sorted out, the consulate has assured us we can, however the original 8 months that we thought would be "plenty of time" was not enough. :confused3

It has been an extreme pleasure meeting all of you, and I wish you smooth sailing. You can bet on the 10th, as I'm strolling around WDW (we will extend our stay there) I will be thinking of you guys.

Bon Voyage!!

I am so sorry to hear this :-(

I am going to leave you on the cruisers page, because you will be there in spirit!

Good luck and have fun in WDW!

Yes, I'm finally back. I'm the pathetic person who started this post and never gets a chance to read it, much less post. And I'm sorry - the "list" is message #2, instead of #1. Please forgive me. :)

I haven't had a chance to read the whole thread, so can someone give me the short version of what is planned. I would love to join in on the dis activities.

If someone would be so kind to add me to the list - it will be myself, DH, DD(3), DS(1).

I'm not sure where we are staying the night before. I am working on that and my car rental right now.

If you missed out about our group bracelets all you need to do is pm me your address. I think all I need now is four addresses to have everyones. I am mailing them out this week regardless.(I will do a second mailing for the rest) As you can see, there is a list created by kristen ( :woohoo: YEAH :woohoo: )
and Happylawyer is going to pm everyone her email address for info on everyones cabin and possibly cell number for our game of tag. We have also talked about maybe a magnet or something small for our group from your hometown. If I think of anything else, I will come back.

ok so no one is interested in dinner the 9th at grills for those staying near the cape

Sorry that you guys are not able to make the cruise!! :sad1: Hopefully everthing will work out soon for you guys!! At least you have the extra days at disney!! pixiedust:

Thank you all for your kind words and for keeping me part of this group. I'm the one who has done all the planning (this would have been my 4th DCL cruise) and therefore was the most excited about it.

The cruise was to be an extra special surprise for my niece who doesn't want a Sweet 16 party. She never knew about it, she doesn't even know we are going to WDW, the entire thing is to be a surprise so she'll never know what she missed.

Right now we're hoping it won't take too much longer to get my BIL straigtened out and we can all cruise together in May for my DD 21st B-day, if not, my DD and I will be taking a mom & me trip.

I appreciate the offer for the bracelets, but to be honest, it would just break my heart a little more. And, I wouldn't want my niece to ever know what was planned...she's been dying to go on a DCL cruise.

Anyone in the parks before the cruise, I'll be wearing my alien green mickey head on my bag and a Santa Mickey hat. If you see me, please say hello.

All the best to all of you!

:sad1:
Your post made me cry. I am so sorry that you won't be with us and we will absolutely look for you at the parks! Good luck with your INS dance - :dance3: - they are absolutely delightful folks to deal with. :sad2:

so far i have only 4 cell numbers/ State room numbers,
please pm them to me if you wish to join the contact list, also, if you don't want to give your stateroom # out for the tag activity that is fine. LEt me know if you want to pm it or if you need my private email address
thanks

Welcome back!!!

I still do have an extra room booked and paid for near the Orlando airport. It's the Wingate and include complimentary shuttle to and from the airport and breakfast.

The rate is $47 for the night of December 9th plus taxes.

Originally there were 3 of us on this cruise, and then our "friend" pulled out and quite frankly disappeared from the face of the earth. I had shelled out the deposit money and cancelled before I was on the hook.

So, if anyone is looking for a hotel room the night before, let me know.

Here's a link to the hotel:

We are NOT uninterested (or is it disinterested).
