December 10, 2006 - 12/10/06 Wonder

I have to post this-no matter how much my finger hurts... I cannot wait until midnight to book my Palo & excursion ressies. I'm gonna put everyone to bed, take a dip in the jacuzzi & sip a margarita while I watch all of my TIVO stuff tonight until it's time. DH has to work early tomorrow so once everyone's in bed I will be all alone at 8:30ish)! I am almost looking forward to the time alone more than actually making the reservations!
It's like Christmas Eve....I CAN"T STAND IT! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

We are NOT uninterested (or is it disinterested).

Neal

It all depends if you are saying you have no interest (or in this case do have interest) or have no self-interest.

"He is uninterested in your offer"

"He is a disinterested party"

So, you could have some interest in it, or in this case not uninterested in dinner. Or, you could be a disinterested party in the dinner, having no self interest and just a innocent dinner bystander so to speak. Sort of minding your own business, not caring much, and a witness to a random act of dessert.

I know no one is as silly as me to be up at this time, but I booked our Palo, excursions & babysitting and registered the kids for oceaneers club. I got everything at the times I wanted, I just really hate booking so far in advance when I don't know exactly what is happing when. I really wish I could have booked Palo Brunch, that is the only thing I didn't get. I guess I will only have to stand in line to get early seating for dinner now...

I was up, but it was 3 am my time. We got everything we wanted except the palo brunch. We'll try to get that when we are on the boat!

I went online at 5:30 AM central. I was rather surprised that there was as much available as there was. I expected dinner at Palo to not be available, but it was.

If it makes you feel better, I made my ressies 90 days out and didn't get brunch either. I plan on getting on the list for cancelations - if we go, fine - if we don't, that's okay too.

I was really surprised too. It looked like everyday and everytime was available-except for brunch. I even changed it a few times because I couldn't make up my mind.
I'm still not sure which is better. We have late seating right now and everything else we plan is depending on if we can squeeze our little party of 6 into early seating. I'm not even sure we should do early seating. My kids eat at 6PM PST now(which would be equivalent to late seating). We plan on keeping that time table while at the parks-but by the time we get to the cruise they may be more acclaimated to Florida time.
You would think I'm planning a party for the queen with how much I'm obsessing.

The way it stands I have a ressie for Palo for Mon night late because I figured we could miss Parrot Cay (I'm banking on Animators, PC then Tritons Rotation) and Wed night late-if we have to we can have appetizers at Triton's and dinner at palo.

What did everyone else do?

I thought we could start making reservations at midnight. So I went online at midnight their time, waited an hour until midnight our time, still couldnt so I waited thirty more minutes......checking our board to see if anyone was on to help me...no such luck. I finally gave up and when I got up this morning I went on and got everything that we wanted except brunch. I didnt do a dinner because I want to spend that with our children. I might regret it but we need to be together at dinner. I have a feeling that Mom and Dad are going to be "ditched" because of the clubs. That is fine because I want them to have the time of their lives. We are going to atlantis(made ressies a while back) at Nassau. We are doing the stingray adventure, banana boat ride, and rentals for the day at cataway cay. I will try for brunch again later.
I still wasnt sure about spa and TA said she was going to take care of that for me. I dont have a clue. She said she was going to surprise me. I trust her to make great decisions for me. She has never let me down. Christie has been IM and emailing with a couple of the girls if anyone else wants to jump in just pm me. Also I saw somewhere a ten year old boy on this thread last night!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: I hope it wasnt a typo. If it is true..my son will be so excited and would like to chat too. Please pm me if you would allow him chat with Howard. It is supervised although they fell that to be an invasion to their privacy! WHATEVER!! Now, I also still need a few addresses. If you havent pm'd me your address, please do so, that way I can mail out all bracelets at once. I will not use your address for anything else, and it wont be added to any mailing list!!LOL

I booked it for the last night and my big question is how do you know what your rotation will be? This being my first cruise, I don't want to miss any of the the 3 restaurants and would prefer to miss the "repeat', but how do you know which one will be repeated?

From several different sources I have learned that the rotation depends mostly on who is in your partyy(but is totally arbitrary based on when you book, how Disney can fit you in, etc). Families with small children usually start in Animators, go to Parrot Cay then Tritons. Families with older kids usually start in Parrot Cay, go to Tritons & Animators last. Adults alone usually start in Triton, then Animators and Parrot Cay last. You repeat restaurants on nights #2 & #3. Night #3 is Pirate Night with a different menu though-so even if you are sitting in the same restaurant, the menu is totally new.
It is totally confusing and subject to change-but as of 8/26/06 (the last navigator available on the DIS) the scheduling is still as above. WHEW! I'm still not sure I made the right decision!

I dont know if anybody is interested but the budget board has a thread on page three for disney adventures magazine for 7.49 for THREE years!!!! I ordered it and had no problem with her instructions. I am going to let it be a part of a Christmas gift for my dd. It wont start for 8 to 10 weeks which would be perfect for Christmas. Just thought some of you would like to know.

It was the typical double negative. Of course we are interested.

I too was up at the strokw of 3:00AM and there were plenty of Palo reservations. I got 6:00 on the last evening. I'm OK as long as it's not AP night. If it is, I will try to get the rotation changed.

I figured by the last evening, I'll be tired of all of the food around and I stand a chance of being semi-hungry for this meal.

Hmmm. We're two adults. I want or rather I should say need , because of gathering material for the podcast, to do all the restaurants. I'm hoping I made the right choice by booking the last night.

I booked 6:30 PM, and I hope that was a good choice too and that we can make it to the show afterwards.

I really wanted to do the Palo brunch, but it wasn't available for booking when I went online. Only dinner.

I'd sure like to talk to people to capture your impressions of the various restaurants after you have had a chance to sample them. The world is waiting to hear what you have say.

is the last night pirate night?
is anyone sending their kids to the kids club on the first day?

After sail away and safety stuff they can until dinner and after dinner. What about you? I was not in a hurry to get on the boat but I may change my mind because of palo brunch...I really really wanted that not so much the dinner. Do yall think they save a certain number of places for that reason? If not, that will help me make up my mind. :confused3 :confused3 I hate to miss palo altogether, but I need to be with my kids at dinner.

well brunch is on a certain day, it is only at the day at sea i have been told. If you cannot get one, i will see if i can add some guests to mine, i hear they do some special things for suite guests, we can touch base after we board and if you cannot get a spot, i can see if they cann add guests to mine, my resv is at 12:00pm, so i will probably eat breakfast at 5 am, or not at all.

I am taking my dtr to the club every day!!
I will get her for dinner i want that family time, but after, if she wants she can go back, on the day at sea, yes she will be there all day.

That is so sweet, Shawn. Is everyone going to allow the children to check themselves out? I think they have to be a certain age. Right now I have it so mine can, but if someone tells me why I shouldnt I can change that before the cruise. Also, for those of you that have been before, have yall used walkie talkies? I would like something other than that beeper. What about cell phone service or calling cards. On our cruise in June. We didnt have anything that worked. No cell phone service and our calling cards didnt work.
