Due to the success of a pilot program on Disney Magic ® and positive feedback from Guests, Disney Cruise Line ® is introducing the auto-application of gratuities on all Disney ships.
The process will create a more seamless experience for your Clients by automatically charging folios on embarkation day with the suggested gratuity amounts for the Server, Assistant Server, Head Server and Stateroom Host/Hostess.

Below are the effective dates:

• Disney Dream - Date to be announced
• Disney Fantasy - April 21, 2012
• Disney Magic - Already in place
• Disney Wonder ® - April 22, 2012

Clients can add pre-paid gratuities at the time of booking or when processing final payment. If the pre-paid gratuities have not been added prior to boarding, your Clients will receive a letter upon check-in explaining the automatic charge to their onboard account. Your Clients still have the option to modify or add additional gratuity amounts, or pay in cash, by stopping by the Guest Services Desk onboard.
As a reminder, a 15% gratuity is automatically added to any bar, beverage, wine and deck-service receipt.

Where in MN are you from? We live in the Twin Cities (North West Suburbs).
We homeschool our kids so vacation can happen any time for us and we have found that if we're going south the best time of year is December! And at Disney, I have heard, it is kind of empty. We are heading to WDW this December. I can't wait!!!

It will be fun to have other Minnesotans on the cruise!

We have just added our 14 year old niece to the cruise with us as a reward for her great grades ( a 4.0 on this last report card with her AP Honors courses!) While we are from WI, she is from Crystal, MN.

I'm reading this thread from the beginning to see if I can find where the kids are talking to each other ahead of time so they know people on the cruise before we get there. Can I ask how old your kids are?

We live in the Chipppewa Valley area of west-cental WI. It is about 90 miles east of Minneapolis.

Hey, I know this area! We vacation in Chetek, WI every summer. Beautiful part of the state! Great fishing, too.

Suggestion for the group-

On at least one previous DCL cruise we were on, there was a group set up for the kids on the cruise to post and meet each other in advance. I think it was done on the DIS for that cruise but it could also be done in Facebook since I think most kids are on Facebook these days. My suggestion would be a private group on FB so that the kids could talk freely and parents not have to worry about them.

I've never set up a FB group before but would be happy to set this one up and approve DIS parents (who may want to watch their kids in the group) and kids traveling on this cruise with us.

The first member would be Haley, my (14 year 10 month at the time of the cruise) niece. I told her I was going to try to set something up so she could meet other kids before the cruise and she liked that idea.

Any interest in this idea, parents? Should it be a thread on the DIS or a Facebook group?

Hi Everyone!
My name is Flo (wltdsnyfan). I will be doing the fish extender for our December 1st Fantasy Cruising with Mickey Cruise!
I would like to start to compile a list of people that would like to par take in it.
I will only post your screen name on the DIS or your first name. I will not post cabin number or anything. But on are closed group on Face book I can post that since it is not public. I will add a document to the group and update the info when I add someone to it. On the DIS I will put an updated list once a month.
The cutoff to par take will be in the beginning October. This gives people time to get it all together. Once we hit the cut of date you can send me an e mail, private message or PM me on the DIS your e mail address and I will send you the spread sheet with all the info on it. I will also have copies of the spread sheet at the DIS meet on the Fantasy.

In case any one would like to put a credt on there account before the cruise this is whaat DCL told me could be done. If you have a Travel Agent it could be done through them to.You may contact us and have the Disney gift cards applied to your
reservation.

An onboard credit can be used to cover anything that is charged to the
stateroom account (i.e. gifts, spa treatments, port adventures (shore
excursions), refreshments, etc.) and is placed on the stateroom folio.
Guests receive a gift card in their stateroom that notifies them about
the onboard credit, who arranged it, and a special message you may like
to include.

To purchase an Onboard Credit, please call 800-601-8455 or 407-566-7000,
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 10:00pm (ET) or Saturday - Sunday 9:00am -
8:00pm (ET). Our reservation agents will be happy to arrange this for
you.

For the safety and security of our Guests, onboard credits are not able
to be purchased via email. Please do not send a credit card payment to
us to process.

As a reminder, any unused onboard credits will be credited back to the
original form of payment.

I just bought 3 Segway tours for my DH, DNiece and me to do an 80 minute Segway tour of Cocoa Beach before we get on our cruise. We LOVE Segway tours and this is really a great deal! Must be purchased in the next two days however.

EDIT: I just reread the voucher and the promotional value is supposed to expire October 29th. I have a call in to the segway tour group to see if we can use the promotion on December 1 or not. We may still do the tour in any case, but it never hurts to ask!

Great customer service! I talked to Julie at the Segway company and was able to book our Segway tours for Dec 1, even though the promotion should expire Oct 29. She said since we don't live in the area and we know we will be there Dec 1 and can schedule the date now, they would accept the Living Social vouchers in December. Yay! We're doing the 9 am tour if anyone would like to join us. Also switched to the Cape Canaveral tour instead of Cocoa Beach as Julie recommended it.
