Dec stay Date change advice - Merriest Nights crowds

Hi Everyone!

I need some input on changing dates for our upcoming Dec stay. I have Dec 7th - 10th booked with airfare and hotel - both great rates. However, with Merriest nights announced, DL will close earlier on both the 7th and 9th. I am trying to convince myself to get a AP (can I still call it that - ha ha) so I don't want to spend the money on the Merriest event.

I looked today, and found my airfare (change for free on SW) and hotel are not more going Monday Dec 13th - Thursday the 16th - so I am considering changing. I am hoping any extra crowds brought in by event attendees may be less, and DL evening hours longer??

What am I missing? TIA!!

Well just the fact that the park hours will be cut short on two of your days with your current reservations, I would change the dates.
