have the reservations and annual pass on MDE - it still refusing me to allow me to do the fass passes.

so what am I doing wrong - it is less than 50 days?

it did allow me to do online check in.
 
I don't think anyone who has a check in date for a December date is able to make FP+ selections yet. So you are not doing anything wrong. You just have to be patient a while longer.
 
Someone on another board seemed to think that Oct. 20 might be the magic date for December reservations.
 

FYI: When they opened up November for fastpass+, they opened up the whole month of November at about 3:00 pm eastern time on September 24th.

If you were arriving any date from November 1st to November 23rd, you could not book any fastpass+ reservations until September 24th, and if you were arriving November 24-30, you had to wait for the 60 day window to open (the 60 day window opened on September 25th for November 24th arrivals, September 26th for November 25th arrivals etc.)

I do not know if Disney will do the same thing for December, or if they do, what date December will open up. However, given you are in your 60 day window and fastpass+ is not open for you, it seems like they are going to do the same thing.

Hope that helps explain why you might not be able to currently book December fastpass+, even if you are less that 60 days from arrival.
 
We are going on Nov. 11. I had started to get our MDE squared away with some problems. I called and spoke to someone in IT and she asked if we had gotten our invitation yet. Ah no, said they are working out the kinks and you really need to wait for your invitation. That came last week and with help from MS we are ready to order our bands. I made some mistakes- somehow deleted my DIL from her room, then we couldn't link her with us. Not a good move. But with help all set.
 
Follow the December thread on the Parks board and people will post when they are able to customize Magic Bands and choose Fast Passes. We arrive December 2 and cannot do anything yet.

Alright, I'm not getting the whole MDE / magic band thing (and I admit I've only partially followed threads here & there on them but I just keep getting more confused).

We are going in January. We have AP's. I have entered our AP #'s on MDE and linked our dining ressies to the reservation. Does this mean at 60 days out we will be able to order magic bands and set up FP+ ? I was under the impression that the system is still in a testing phase and not everybody could use it yet. Is the testing over? Does this mean that I HAVE TO use online check-in at 60 days? Seems crazy to me to "check-in" so far out. But how will I know if we can use the magic bands or not? Do I have to wait for Disney to invite me to use them?

You do not need to complete on-line check-in in order to customize MagicBands. Yes the system is still in testing and it's not opening up at 60 days out. Currently, it seems as if they are opening new months about 40 days out from the 1st of the month. Officially, Disney is sending out the 'invites' around 28 days out. No one with December (or later) arrivals have been able to customize MagicBands.

OK, so everybody that I see talking about it has been invited to use it then? And who knows what will be going on with it by January.
 
I spoke to member services yesterday and they said we have to still be invited to participate in the fast pass plus and magic band program. however, we are going over Christmas and if they allow others to have access to fast passes prior to others staying on property, I do not think this will be good. Crowd levels will make it much harder to get day of fast passes, etc if others are gone before day of..

Carol, when is your trip, and how were you able to customize bands you didn't yet have?
 
When you are done linking resort, tickets, dining and fastpass you then have the option of ordering you your bands. We chose our colors and ordered the bands yesterday for our 11/11 trip. I did require MS to help a few times during this process.

Through a link in My Disney Experience. We check in on November 30, my DVC reservation is linked to my MDE account and the link works for me. All it does is let me pick a color for each person's MB and also to add a name that will be printed inside the band.
 
I was able to customize MagicBands for our Dec 6 check-in at SSR this morning. I redid the on-line check-in process this morning, and then the 'Personalize MagicBands' option appeared. We have MagicBands from a stay earlier this month, so I was already able to make FP+ selections up to 60 days in advance.
 
I was able to make FP+ times reservations today too for our Dec. 15 vacation. I haven't done it yet though.
