Dec. 8th at ASMu - Last Day of PW - What Should We Expect?

Turns out that the Pop Warner groups can choose between ASSp and ASMu this year (along with both POR and PORFQ). (I thought the value choice was ASSp with overflow to ASMo in the past.)

Anyway, we arrive the last day of PW and I'm wondering how crazy the ASMu will be that night. Anyone have previous experience about the goings on at PW resorts the last night of the championships?

I am a bit concerned about noise late at night due to the kids letting loose since the stress of competition will be over.

I'm not concerned about it being crowded ... that's to be expected and we have an ADR for Ohana that evening and plan on sleeping in - so food court issues shouldn't be a problem. (Am I correct in assuming that the PW groups head home sometime on Sunday morning?)

If we weren't travelling with an infant, I wouldn't be concerned at all - but when baby is cranky from lack of sleep, everyone else tends to get that way too!

For what's it's worth, we are staying in a Family Suite and have requested a quiet area. I understand that the group meeting place - Celebrity Hall - is located closest to the Jazz Inn - does this mean the PW groups will be concentrated in that section?

Any info would be appreciated.

Back in '03, my dd and I were at Music from the Thursday of the PW stay until the following Tuesday. The kids weren't really all that bad. They were in evidence at the parks in the evening but not so much during the day. On that Sat, I noticed a lot of them packing up and leaving, some had left on Friday night. By Sunday, there just didn't seem to be that many kids left around.
Since you'll be in the family suites, you may not be all that close to the PW kids. Ask for a suite higher up, so there is less chance of foot traffic.

Bumping this up for the previous poster and asking a question!
I am thinking about AS Sports for December 7th-13th 2008.
How will I find out when PW kids will be there? I looked at the PW website, but I couldn't see where to get that info. I know the 2008 dates are not up, but I at least wanted to know where to look when it gets closer to time.

If we arrived on the 7th, maybe it would be ok??? Because they would be
heading out on the 7th or 8th??? (I know this is really far away, but I love to plan early)

From these boards it seems to be the general concensus that PW is the first FULL week in December. Don't have a 2008 calendar handy, so not sure exactly where your arrival date falls.

What I would do is periodically Google "Pop Warner Championships 2008" - that should turn up the exact dates as soon as they're announced. I noticed on the PW webiste that they post a yearly calendar of events - so maybe the info will be available soon after this year's PW is over.

Thanks disneymath! We stayed at ASMo last december (2nd week)
and everything about our stay was wonderful. The crowds were so low and the weather was not hot, but not cold either. We went for free dining in September and it was so HOT!!! (And more crowded). And I missed the christmas decorations (even though I didn't think it would matter much)
