Dec 5, 2009 -- now traveling to Tortola

You're welcome! I think it is per email account as they are trying to get new customers. You could probably use it both ways if you had two different email accounts to sign up to Gogo with.

good idea! Thanks!

I just checked Palo and I just reserved a spot for Sunday afternooon high tea!!!

I guess high tea is only for 'at sea' days. That left only 3 possible days to have this outing and we got the Sunday one!

I'm sooooo excited! I got every item I was hoping for that was available for online booking!:cool1::cloud9::banana::santa::cheer2:

Also got our welcome packages for one of our adjoining staterooms! (Ya sure, the package for Christine and the 2 older kids comes in, but mine, my mom's and little Speedy's didn't come in yet) Just the same, just one more thing to (excitedly) pore over and study and memorize!

4 weeks and 2 days till we all meet on board! I'll be racing on board to pick up our lanyards and then we'll see you next day for breakfast!:yay:

sorry for flooding the main board with this stuff guys but since I can only email 5 people at a time it just takes to long at work.... THE two numbers on the bottom 32 .... 21.... they are the total number of adults .... children... hope this clears some things up for now. :)

I've got a grin on my face a mile wide. :teeth:
Thanks for the prayers and pixie dust. :tinker: It must have worked because it doesn't seem that the calcium deposits have really changed since the last mamo, so I just have to go back in 6 months for another one. Thanks for the terriffic advice as well. I even managed to sleep last night. You cannot imagine how much all of you helped. :sunny:

This is going to be such a great cruise.

See you all on the ship! party:

First of all, this time next month, we'll be on the ship!! Woohoo :yay:

I received the lanyards and holders in the mail today, and they look great. To date, I have received $103 in donations for the lanyards. If you would like to contribute (any amount $5-$40 is welcome), please PM me. Hadley is going to contribute at the port to avoid shipping delays/costs, but even after her donation and mine, I am hoping to get another $50 gathered to cover the rest of the costs including the badge printing. Anyone feeling generous?

:thanks:

Tower-- congrats on the high tea ressie!

carmie3377-congrats to your great aunt on no more chemo!

Can someone help with this question? I used my Disney Vacation Club points for this trip, and there is a difference between the value season sailing for a St. Croix stop and the Tortola stop.

Should I expect a credit for the point difference, or am I not entitled to one? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, and I look forward to meeting all of you onboard in 4 weeks.

Scot

Hi Scott - I had to change my reservation after they changed destinations and there was no credit for the change from St. Croix to Tortola. I think it is covered in the statement that they can and may have to change destinations.

Hello All! I am totally new to the DIS board, and wow, is there a lot going on! My little family of four is headed out on this cruise as well; only thirty days to go! We have cruised several times before, but never on DCL, and this will be the first cruise for my kiddo's. I feel really behind, as I haven't booked any excursions, babysitting, anything!

My kiddo's are 5 and 19 months. I would like to book a couple evenings of babysitting for the little one, but not sure which nights to select. Does anyone have any insight on the itinerary?

Also, any suggestions on family friendly excursions for my age kids at the ports would be appreciated! We can't wait to see everyone for a fantastic time!

Michelle

Welcome Michelle. I would recommend using child care on a sea day or two (or three!). That way, you will have more time to get everyone ready, feed the kids beforehand if you'd like, etc. This would allow for a more leisurely and relaxed evening.

Just my opinion though. This is my first Disney cruise (but we have cruised several times before and used child care).

With a child that young, your excursions may be a bit limited, but a beach is always good. Your oldest may enjoy Coral World on St. Thomas, but I'm not sure about your youngest. Or you could just save the cash and hang out at the pool - my kids always love those times the most anyway!!

We look forward to meeting you on the ship!

Amy (and Gary and Julia, 9, and Olivia, 4)

Oh Christine that is the BEST news:yay: I am so, so, SO happy to read this. One good thing from all the stress, you will probably enjoy your vacation that much more now because you tend to notice all the little things we normally take for granted after such a scare. You certainly DESERVE a great week now:hug:

Welcome:goodvibes I am glad you found us here on the DIS. Somewhere about 20 pages back is a list somebody posted of which nights are formal night, pirate, night, etc. which may help you decide about booking Flounders for your little one. My experience has been that on sailing which aren't very full (this one does not seem to be at all) there is generally lots of availability to add more babysitting hours once you are on board. This can be nice since you will know the schedules very clearly then. You can also see how much your little one likes the babysitting early on and decide from there how much mroe to do.

Welcome Michelle!
As another newbie to Disney Cruises, I know how you feel. Fortunately, over the past (almost) 2 years we've been on this board getting to know people from all over the world (ok 1 family currently in Germany, the rest in N.America) and getting a good feel about everything from the 'DIS Veterans'.

Feel free in contributing to the threads, get to know some people. As Hadley had mentioned, please read through when you have the time and get to know some of us by our posts. We are from near Toronto, Canada and we're travelling as a family of 6 with 2.5, 6, and 8 year olds, my mom and my bride.

Generally, according to past cruise schedules made public here, the tentative week's schedule is:
Saturday:Launch Party
Sunday Morning at 9:00AM: Informal Breakfast at Lumieres Restaurant for all posters on this thread - Picture Opportunity with fellow DIS'ers.
Sunday Evening: Formal Night
Monday: Day at Sea (You make your own fun and take advantage of the child programs ;))
Tuesday: Tortola
Tuesday Evening: Pirate Dinner in all 3 restaurants (Apparently Disney provides a bandana per person, if you have something don't go overboard but go ahead and bring it along, more details on the DCL video or on the DCL website)
Wednesday: St. Thomas
Thursday Evening: Semi-Formal Night
Friday: Castaway Cay
Friday Evening: Farewell Party
Saturday: Say goodbye:eek::wave2::(

So, where are you from? Let us know a bit more about yourself, ask away on questions, and join in on the fun! We're sailing 4 weeks from tomorrow!

Barry I HAVE to post on your "just a day at sea" comment. First, there is nothing "just" about it! Those are the best days:goodvibes Also, you can make your own fun, but DCL also provides a big schedule of activites for the adults to join in on (as well as things for the kids and many things for the entire family) so you can keep as busy, or as relaxed, as you'd like.

Thank you Amy, Hadley and "Tower" for all the great info! I feel SO behind!

A little about us, we are from just north of Dallas. My husband and I have lived here all our lives. We have been on about 5 Carnival cruises, but this is our first Disney Cruise. We have heard nothing but wonderful things about them, and are so excited for this one! We have been to St. Croix & St. Thomas, but never with our kids (5.5 and 1.5), so this should be interesting. :)

So, does anyone know if there are specific nights for adult entertainment that I should try to get the little one into babysitting for? It's good to hear that this cruise may not be super full if we want to add babysitting on board. What else do I need to know?

Anyone know anything about the Dolphin Encounter in Tortola? I was thinking my daughter may like that one, and my son can just watch. What about CC? I was thinking of not booking anything there, and just playing it by ear when we get there. There isn't a whole lot you can do with a 1.5 yo, so beach time is the main thing on our agenda.

How will I know you guys when I get aboard? How formal are the formal nights? I'm sure I'll think of more questions, but for now, that's what I got. Thanks again, and I will keep reading back posts to get us much info, and get to "know" you guys as much as possible!

THANKS!
Michelle
