Just got off the Dream, 9/11. Went with a friend on the cruise and then a couple days at the Epcot and Animal Kingdom. She had never been on a cruise and had only been to the park when there was Magic Kingdom. Everything I told her about a Disney Cruise turned out to be the opposite on this trip.
There are always children on board, this is a Disney cruise. However, they spend most of their time in the kids clubs and there is the adult area. This time I think the entire 1100 children were in their rooms or on the veranda jumping up and down or running through the halls all the time screaming. Also, we had a late start leaving the port because a young girl slipped on the deck while the deck was being power washed and broke her leg so an ambulance had to take her off. On CC, 2 cast members collapsed from heat stroke and dehydration while running a cast member 10k run and had to be air lifted.
The cast members were amazing and made us feel special as always.
I can hardly wait until December when I will be with my family, we roll with the flow so there will not be any tense moments. I will meet with my daughter on Sunday we can start concentrating on FE's. This time, We have to think of two sets because of two rooms participating. This will be fun.
The FE gifts I got this time was full of imagination from handmade and sequined bookmarks to a Kodak one use digital cameras. (I hope these people work for Kodak). Both me and my friend are diabetics so I asked for sugar free or no candy. We did get a hugh bag of candy but only one bag so that was great. From everyone else we got peanuts or sugar free something and even tiny bottles of liquor, lots of great handmade gifts.
We did have fun time at Pink and Evolution. Did not make it to Skyline. There was a TV Trivia show and my friend won first prize. I went to the DVC get together and won a beach bag in a trivia quiz. The only thing is the trivia was on
DCL and I did not know the answer, the emcee had to give me the answers so I could win a prize.
We will fly in and drive to the Residence Inn at the port the night before. We like getting to the ship early, that is why we do not stay on property and take Disney transportation. We also do not take Disney transportation back to the resort if more than two of us is cruising because of the cost. I can rent a car cheaper.
We will be staying at Wilderness Lodge for a couple of days after the cruise instead of our home resort. We are enjoy staying at difference DVC locations.
I will never, never, never take a three day cruise again unless it is connected with a 4 day. With a three day as soon as you get on, it is time to get off.
