However I'm feeling better about the dining plan carrying over.

I am concerned about my reservations for Teppan Edo. It is for Jan 2 so it will be covered by the 2007 plan. at least it should be. BUT if they are not a DP rest. for 2008 will they honor the 2007 plan that started.......

This had to happen last year too Anybody deal with this issue last year?

My memory is all of the 2006 particpating restaurants also particpated in 2007. I don't think a single restaurant has dropped out of the plan. I'm not including restaurants that closed and re-opened under a different name. The fact that almost all the missing restaurants have already been confirmed would make me nervous, although they might be added.

I'd try to move your Teppan Edo reservation to 2007.

I'd be surprised if a non-participating restaurant (2008) would be able/willing to accomodate 2007 DDP guests. Disney can't make a non-Disney restaurant participate. The plan brochure is clear, restaurants are subject to change. The appetizer and included tip are important elements of the 2007 DDP. The deletion of a couple of restaurants isn't important. Since you purchased the plan Yak and Yeti was added. It may not help you but the total number of restaurnst is about the same.

My trip is going to be from Dec 31, 2007 to Jan 6, 2008.

I asked my TA the question about being on the 2007 DDP and going to a couple of restaurants that may not be on the 2008 list. She thinks that since you are on the 2007 plan, you should be able to use the restaurants on the 2007 list. This turned out to be a non-issue since the restaurants in questions are now on the updated 2008 DDP brochure. Unfortunately I don't see Teppan Edo on the brochure.

Perhaps you can call the restaurant to find out what they'd do?

I agree that while you should be able to count on using the plan under the 2007 guidelines as to what it includes, you should NOT count on Teppan Edo. It is not owned by Disney and won't have to adhere to the rules Disney set for itself. It might be a good idea to have a backup ADR for the Teppan Edo day unless you're prepared to pay cash for the meal.
