We are thinking about making a trip down but due to school schedules we won't be able to go until 12/31 (thru 1/7). Does anyone know if WDW takes the Christmas decor down quicker than this particular lazy soul?
Thanks.

The Osbourne lights at MGM will be up until 1/7. The resort decorations will start to come down along about the 3rd when we left the morning of the 5th they were still playing Christmas music and the majority of the decorations were still up. Some of the large trees were starting to come down on the 4th.

I think you will see a lot your first couple of days there.

We went a few years ago over New Year's Eve and spent the evening in Epcot. It was a blast! :thumbsup2 DH and I sipped champagne. There were bands both in Future World and back in World Showcase. Everyone was celebrating. It was just fantastic! I know you are going to have a magical time!

Christmas in the WORLD is Fabulous! We went one year for almost two weeks. Boys were on college break so we could spend some quality time. The lights, the parades, the resorts are all decorated to the MAX. It is so FESTIVE!!! The only tad bit itty bitty issue are the CROWDS. For sure the Christmas/New Years seasons are still going strong when you go!!! :thumbsup2

We went Dec 31-Jan 7 this year and it was wonderful! We had great weather and it felt like Christmas was extended. There were decorations everywhere, Osbourne lights, and Christmas music still playing. It was such a great trip!! There were more people than in the low season when I we usually go but very manageable, short wait times, used fast passes when necessary. It was magical for sure!

When I booked I was not even thinking about the decorations still being up. Ds will be really surprised, what a special birthday trip :goodvibes
