Dec 27/08 NYE Western Cruise - Really New Thread

I don't think so....I asked about what it was a long time ago, but decided not to comitt to anything with anyone (except with Aisling on Key West on our own, not thru DCL and that will be a see how it goes that day kinda thing) because I'm not sure of what my mom will be up for.

Actually - I didn't have Nan's group down as they didn't indicate they were definetly going to do it - is that something you guys want to do now? Only issue is I need a decision asap as I have to call Nativeway tomorrow to get transportation and final counts good.

Brenda - send me your email address and I will get you on the distribution list for the coordination/confirmation #'s for the Nativeway tour (for Ryan). I have Mr. Orlanr's information as well...:)

I can call DCL this week and ask about the movies - I did so last time about the 3 week mark. At the same time (if no one else has beaten it out of them) I will try and get the information regarding the "what night is what".

Good morning,

Brenda, very cool door signs! I love the colorful paper. I should try to use my CM software to do mine, but so far I'm doing it by hand on magnetic paper. You've inspired me now.:thumbsup2

Is anyone starting to feel overwhelmed by Christmas and the cruise so close? Next weekend I'm going upstate to see my mother who's leaving for North Dakota for 6 weeks. She'll be helping my brother and his family pack for their move to England. (God help my poor brother!)

Then the weekend after, my sister's family and my daddy are coming from upstate to celebrate an early Christmas with us. I'm not too thrilled about it, because it'll mean cooking and entertaining, and I really wanted to chill out and do last minute cruise stuff.

I have our church Christmas Pageant on the 21st, and my 4th graders need so much more practice in addition to getting the class lessons done by Christmas break.

My other brother wants to use my dog to be a reindeer when he plays Santa next week for some developmentally delayed adults. So I have to get Brian used to wearing the antler hoodie! Wish me luck!

I have to go through my FE gifts, as I see on Anjelica's list that we have some new people added.

I have to write Brian's feeding schedule for Mel so he'll feed him on time. He eats 4 small meals a day.

I still have to get Cory's travel authorization notarized, well my bro or SIL have to do this, but they need a push. Also I need them to make a copy of Cory's Passport, as we leave the originals in the safe on the ship and take the copies with us in the ports.

I have to find some sunblock, which I haven't seen in the stores, but I'm sure it's somewhere in the million stores here.

I have to get Jesse to his nose-surgery doctor before we leave, for his 1 year follow-up appointment.

I have to make my eyelash dye appointment so I won't look like an albino on this cruise.

I have a few more Christmas gifts to buy, the most difficult being a bottle of Scotch for my parish priest who likes a specific rare kind. But he's so good to us, that I'll do what I have to to find it for him.

Brian finally goes for his final shots on Wednesday, so we can begin outdoor potty training and visits to the doggie park. That'll wait until after the cruise, since I think it'll be easier for Mel to just pick up and replace the soiled peepee/poop pads that Brian uses than to take him out.

Tonight I have to pick up a larger crate/kennel for Brian, since he is too big for his original one. He'll need to be put in it when Mel goes to the gym and tennis. I found a brand new one on craigslist. I'm donating his old one to a local animal shelter, and I'll drop it off on the way tonight.

And today I have to call the Parkinson Disease organization to come pick up my minivan which I'm donating to them. It has to be done this month in order to get the tax credit for this year.

Then I have to book Chad on a flight to North Dakota to pick up our new minivan that my brother is giving me, since he can't take it with him to England. He's only allowed to ship over one car, which he's already done. Then Chad will drive the minivan back home here on Feb. 1st.

What else, there must be more but I can't think of any right now.

How's that to bombard your morning?:lmao:

stressing here - not quite to full blown panic mode - but getting closer

We are gone all this weekend - out of town swim meet

I finally waded into Kara's room and dug out some clothes and such - now to get her to sit down and try them on -

She has at least 2 band concerts this month - so can't even pack her dress black pants until after last one

At least my Christmas shopping is done and we will see mil, and one aunt and uncle this Friday on the way to the swim meet -

House needs a major cleaning

then the high school swim season meets between Sunday and December 21

:)

Going crazy here too.

Marla, you made me laugh....I can't pack the black dress pants either until after the band concert on the 18th.

Nice signs Brenda.

Doc dance!!!!!!! Doc dance!!!!!!!!!!!

Our cruise documents just came!!!!!!!!!!! Someone give me a pill, I'm not ready!

I haven't checked my mail yet - so hopefully. Our plans this past weekend included getting our "cruise" suitcase together as we don't want to unpack that one while we are at disneyworld - HA - never got done.

Wow, you all have been talkative...

Aisling, you could use your little tape dispenser and attach your CM design to the mag paper

THANK YOU!!! it was done with the Mickey & Disney Vacation Digital kits~

Good thing she has those :)

It's been forever since I checked in. :guilty:

Throwing a move into the pre-holiday, pre-cruise mix was not my best idea ever. But we're out of the old place and mostly into the new place now. (although no mentioning the overflow storage unit to DH when you see him onboard) :rolleyes1

HS sports has been keeping us way too busy. I assumed we'd be done with football long before now, but our team plays in the CIF finals this weekend... so DD gets to cheer her last football game as a senior at Angel Stadium. Should be fun, but thank goodness it's almost over!
At least she doesn't have any cheer or track competitions until we get back in January. :thumbsup2

No tree here this year, although I did break down and put up some of my lighted Christmas village the other day. I figure that's festive enough since we leave on the 18th & 19th

I'm afraid my crew may be among the underdressed and/or stinky. :scared:
I told everyone to put whatever they needed washed for packing in the laundry room this weekend and I see it's still completely free of dirties this morning. Hmmm

Do we have a FE delivery schedule yet?
If not, could I request to be assigned early in the cruise?

So is everyone going a bit more glitz and glam for formal night since it's a special NYE cruise, or just what you would normally do?

and i don't use 'mag paper' but bought some small mag strips that are'sticky' on one side, cut small pcs & attached to the 4 corners & later peeled off so that the 'sign' can be put into the album later....if you're not doing a 'digital' album

OMG...WHERE all all my cruise buddies???????

Gosh..

A girl misses a couple of days and it takes a good hour to catch up!!

Ok.. everyone doing FE's PM me and let me know if you have a preference on when you want to go... I will then compile the list and let everyone know. Make sure you include your room number when pming me.. in case some of you leave earlier.. I know some are.. I will slip you the night under your door!! Please PM me by Friday afternoon the 12th... that way I can work out a schedule and put it out on Monday the 15th. Anyone that I do not hear from, I will assume there is no preference on dates.

So.. as for busy months.. I am doing taxes this year for h&r block.. and am taking classes that are mandatory. MWF nights from 6 - 930.. then there are tests that you need to take. Its like.. OMG.. the nights that I am not in class.. I have to take these darn tests.. then they keep adding things, that they hadnt before. The last class is on 12/22.. Ummm HELLO!!!

We are going to sort through our clothes this weekend and figuring out what to bring. Ok.. lets face it.. I need pretty much all new clothes.. since I am prego.. I have a gf that was prego during the summer.. so going to inquire about her shorts.. see if I can borrow them.. and then I just need to get some cute tops.. 1 more formal dress.. and put Brian's order in for the tux on the DCL shop.

I too feel overwhelmed. We can not start packing until the 22nd (note that I will be in CLASS that night) as we have the step kids the weekend before xmas to celebrate xmas.. they do not know that we are going.. no sense telling them.

The tree situation. Clearly.. we have to get a tree for the stepkids. My concern is coming home to a dead tree. We will probably be getting the tree this weekend as well... so that we get to enjoy it a bit before we leave. The house was cleaned as my Inlaws were up this past weekend.. so, just have to maintain that til the cruise and after!!

We still havent told the skids about the baby.. we plan on telling them after we get back from the cruise. I just need to hide the baby from them for 1 more weekend.. wish me luck. my stepdaughter kept asking to hug me this weekend then kept running her hand over my stomach. I think she is on to something.. although.. I think I just look FAT... not pregnant. Oh.. but my FIL did accidently ask when the baby was due (note.. he knows when) near the skids.. I dont know that they heard him.. or if they did if they assume its me.. SD basically stopped the tummy touching by Sunday.. but Saturday it was constant.. so perhaps she ruled out that I am... WHO KNOWS!

I have 4 people left to buy for.. and 1 gift to ship. I feel overwhelmed.

Its shocking that its so close.
