Dec 27/08 NYE Western Cruise - Really New Thread

Rus:

Too Cool :thumbsup2

I'm watching the video you made at Marina as I type, it brings back what a great race and day that was. I can't thank you enough for making the effort to not only come over and hang out with us, but pit with Paul and make this great keepsake of Willie racing. He will be so jazzed when he gets home to see it.

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart :worship:

p.s. I love that in the background you can hear us cheering him on

p.s. is dinner on Friday 11/28 at Maggianos right????

Hi!

Is it too late to join your group? We just decided a couple weeks ago to take the NYE cruise. We are:

Eileen 48
Dan 48 (DH)
Sarah 14 (DD)
Katie 10 (DD)

We have late seating. No specific cabin yet since we are GTY. We live in Virginia now, but have lived in New Jersey and Illinois in the past.

We'd be interested in the Grand Cayman excursion ( the boat tour with Nativeway).

In Cozumel, we have a day pass to the Wyndam.

No plans yet for Castaway Cay or Key West.

We've done the 4 day cruise twice so we are really looking forward to the longer cruise.

Eileen

Welcome aboard, Eileen and family! It's interesting that you were able to get a room (even if GTY) . . . the holiday cruises tend to sell out way in advance. My guess is that at least a few people canceled this fall before final payment due to the economy.

I think you will really enjoy the 7 night after doing two 4 nights . . . :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :goodvibes :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Nice to have you aboard Eileen and family :goodvibes

Eileen and family - welcome welcome welcome

It has been a couple of crazy weeks - and I am soooooo far behind here and at home

Just thinking of trying to get everything done before we leave makes me just want to crawl into bed and pull the covers over my head at this point

Great senior pictures sorry for the delay in letting you all know

Need to decide on which one of Kara's for yearbook - think we have it down to 2 pictures - decisions decisions decisions

later gators

Did I miss something? Is there a video of Wilson racing somewhere? I wanna see it!

Yea, it was of the race he won at Marina California last month. Nan has it, I don't have a U tube account to post it.:confused3

darn it I was just gonna ask you if you knew how to post it!!!

I'm headed to my IT guys house later tonight or tomorrow I'll get a lesson in youtube posting :thumbsup2 I've been nailed with that nasty popup virus and I can't get it off my laptop. So glad I just moved all my pictures to a back up drive.

I'll be spotty to reach here for the next few days while the laptop is getting repaired.

Stay well and catch ya in a few days.

Hi Grim ::car::

This is why you should always check your kid's homework.

Apparently this kid's mom works at Home Depot in the seasonal dept. selling shovels.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I needed a good laugh this morning, thanks!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We'd definately be interested in the Nativeway tour in Grand Cayman. I had looked into it, but booking a private tour for just the 4 of us was way too much. And it's more fun to go with fellow DIS'ers. ( We've met the nicest people on the Disney cruises).

You'll all laugh at us. We are staying at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando the night before the cruise because we want to see the ice place that they have there in the winter. We miss the snow since we moved to Virginia ( though after a few minutes of the cold, we may not miss it so much anymore!)

Eileen

FYI- I tried to post a family photo but I can't until I get to 10 posts, so I'll post it later today. I've been reading the boards a long time but haven't posted.

I've seen photos of Ice at Gaylord Palms, it looks really "cool" (groan). I would love to go see it, maybe we will work it into our plans before the cruise.

Looking forward to your photos Eileen.

I'm going to see ICE on Monday - I'll let you know how it is! I got a pretty good deal because it's a weeknight and there was an AAA discount. Should be nice holiday fun for Ally and I.

Eileen, forgive me for being a dunce, but is that the Paris Eiffel Tower, or the one in Epcot??:hippie:

It is Paris. I always wanted to go, and Sarah's school was taking a trip last summer for French class. So we went along. It was exhausting since it was a youth-group tour, but relatively inexpensive and wonderful.

The funny thing is that I was on a boat on the Seine in Paris and the view looked exactly like the view as you approach the Disney Eiffel tower in Epcot from the little boats. It was as if the Disney folks had taken a photo and recreated it exactly in Orlando.

Beautiful picture! When were you there? I ask because when we were there August 8-18 in 2007, it was so cold that we had to wear sweaters the entire time and were still cold -- and you guys look relatively warm. Of course, I think I read that August of 2007 was the coldest and wettest on record.:sad2:

Eileen - Aisling ~ Sent both of you a pm - looking to get your emails to firm up more on the private excursion in Grand Cayman.

Everyone else - is there anything else in terms of plans, etc. we need to firm up in the coming weeks? (Eileen I will update the website with your families information this weekend). Is all the dining linked ok for everyone, etc.? Everyone who signed up for the Fish Extenders ~ doing ok with that? Disneykelly - I know you were working on the "which" night to pass out - when do you want to post that?

Keep in mind, everyone, that many folks will be gone several days or very busy with XMAS several days before the cruise. (I'm in my project mode now). Just want to make sure all the loose ends are good for everyone.

Did we ever decide on whether we were going to meet up on the cruise, etc.? Also - are some of you still planning on wearing the t-shirts with the custom made prints or is that a no go (sorry wasn't sure on that one)?
