Dec 2011: We Planned In LESS Than 48 Hours! Update!!! 8/10!!!

I love your pictures -- I would have gasped too seeing the castle all lit up in blue and sparkly. LOVE IT!

The kids look so cute all dressed up in their sweaters. Ava looks like she's having a ball playing hopscotch. :goodvibes

Love seeing the pics ! Your kids are so darn cute. I know what you mean about waiting until they are older to do to the evening events .. mine slept through Hallowishes one year. (they were 4 yrs old)
I tried to get there later on in the day and not spend too much time before the party started .. but they still zonked out. :confused3:

Oh well .. at least me and my dd enjoyed it without having to worry about them whining or wanting to leave. :thumbsup2

Our first Princess was Princess Aurora, or as Ava calls her, Sleeping Boogy. She was very sweet, but is it just me or does Aurora look a tad old....

Oh, I totally forgot to comment on this....I think maybe she slept a REALLY long time and aged as she slept?! :scared1:

Your daughter's reaction at the reveal was priceless! She is adorable! I am not so sure my kids would have been that sweet at 3am. ;)

'Ohanas looks delicious and we are looking forward to trying it for the first time on our next visit. How awesome that you got to squeeze in earlier then your ressie AND you got a great view of Wishes from your table!!!

I LOVE all your pictures and am looking forward to reading more; thanks for sharing!

Thank you!! I was a little worried that I'd get a bad reaction at 3am - but it was totally priceless!! I'm so happy she was thrilled!

'Ohana is a must-do for us each and every trip - it is really wonderful!!

glad I found this - I really enjoy reports featuring little kids! I think your little guy is around the same age as mine, when is his b.day? Simon's is Aug 14.

I love how you were able to get into crystal palace last minute like that! we've only done character dining once before and my husband thinks it was a waste of money, so not sure we'll do it again either! :(

Thanks for joining!! Yes, Levi was born August 19th!

We  character dining - must do each trip is the CP - we love it there!!! We always do the DDP though, so cost isn't a factor.

Aww thanks - we think they are pretty cute too!

Thank you!! She had so much fun. Often it is the little things that bring so much joy.

I know, right :scared1:

After a late night at MVMCP the night before, we decided to sleep in! Unfortunately we had an 8am ADR at Hollywood & Vine that I really didn't want to miss. I called Disney Dining at 7am to see if there was a later time. Luckily there was one more breakfast reservation available and it was at 9:30! I hopped back in bed for another hour to snooze! We were up for good around 8am. The kiddos were bright eyed and bushy-tailed!

It was a chilly morning and the kiddos snuggled under a blanket on the way to the bus stop. A DHS bus happened to be pulling up just as we arrived to the bus stop - perfect timing! We arrived quickly to DHS and there was no line at the bag check or gate - good sign!!

The princess led us into the park....

We arrived at Hollywood & Vine, checked in, and sat down to wait.

While we waited, Ava and daddy decided to check out the map and decide what to do first after breakfast!

After about a 15 minute wait, we were called!! Time to eat!

I tried to get the kiddos to pose, but they were too excited!

The food was *really* great. Everything was hot and fresh. The bacon was crispy and delish, sausage was yummy, cheese grits were awesome! Mickey waffles were fresh and soft! Frittata was delish! Lots of cereal and pastries. Tons of fruit. There were so many choices! And bread pudding - for breakfast!!!

Even the picky princess found tons she could eat!! Mickey waffles, strawberries, and bacon - she was in heaven!!

Ava quickly spotted Oso on his way!!

She was so excited to meet Oso! They shared their on special mini-dance party!

Next up was Jake!! Ava gave him her best "arrgghh matey" and he loved it!

June made her way around next.

And finally Handy Manny came around!! Ava loves him, but wondered where his tools were!

After Manny came around the first dance party started!! We were in luck, it was a birthday dance party! Since we were celebrating Ava's birthday, we encouraged her to join along and she was happy to!

She thought it was totally awesome that June held her hand while they danced!! She talked about it all day long!

We finished our meal and thanked the characters and CMs for a wonderful start to another magical day!

What fun ! My guys are a bit too old for this but what a great time for the little ones. :thumbsup2

Great trip report! I can't wait to read the rest of it :-) Your children are adorable!!!

subbing in. Love it all so far. We will be there in 17 days with a 13 month old and 3 1/2 year old.

Thank you everyone!!!

MrsFerrell - I hope you guys have a blast!! Both were such great ages to take! They had such an awesome time.

Just came across your report. Sounds like a magical time. I'm also from SC close to charlotte, so I know what you mean about the snow. So sad this rain today isn't snow.

After our wonderful breakfast at Hollywood & Vine we decided to walk the park to see what kind of waits the rides had. I took a few snaps along the way!

We caught a little of the street performers which - as always - were hilarious!

The Christmas decorations at DHS are nice, but not my favorite. MK's Christmas decorations are just so classic - I love them!

Little lady decided to take charge and lead us to our first attraction of the day!

Stroller parking lots always amuse me! So neat and organized - I love the looks of it. Unfortunately they aren't as easy to navigate!! Once the CM moves your stroller and crams it into the row it is sooo hard to get it out! Alas, not that big a deal - a minor inconvenience in a magical land!

Our fearless leader let us right to Muppet Vision 3D. We timed it just perfect and there was no wait - we headed straight into the theater. This was the first time we did the Muppet movie and we really liked it!!! Ava thought it was funny and Levi giggled all the way through it and even wore his glasses!!

After Muppet Vision we headed over to the Studio Backlot Tour. Hubs was super excited about this since we'd never done this either!

Ava frightens semi-easily and was overwhelmed with the water & fire. I loved that I caught the expressions in 'real time'.

We made it through the walking portion of the attraction and boarded our chariot

Catastrophe Canyon made the kids a little nervous!! Fire, water, and a super shaky bridge!

Ava fell in love with the Mickey plane and wanted to know if we could ride it back home!

My favorite area was the costume design section!! I wish we could have stopped the tram and looked for awhile! Such a neat thing!

We finished up the backlot tour and headed over to another first!!

Hubby absolutely loved this! It was right up his ally and I'm so glad we did it!! Levi and Ava liked it, but it was a little long and they lost interest fairly quickly. Another thing - we got there a little late and had to go to the tippy top of the 'bleachers'. I thought I was going to pass out! I was carrying a baby, holding a 3yr olds hand, trying to take deep breaths because I was freaking over the height (rides are fine, but physically standing somewhere so tall - I was having a cow). Going down was even harder! Lesson learned - get there EARLY!

And here is where I saw the saddest, scariest, most horrifying thing I've ever witnessed at Disney World.....

When we got to the Stunt Show Levi was sleeping in the stroller so I sent Ava and hubs on ahead. While parking the stroller I noticed there was a stroller with a baby in it near the entrance to the stroller parking area. The baby was very small - maybe 2-3 months old and was sound asleep. There wasn't a soul around - no CMs, no mamas, nobody really in the general area. I took my time parking our stroller and putting the bag in the compartment below - all the while hoping a mama would appear out of nowhere and claim the baby. 10 minutes pass by and still no adult. I happen to see a CM and my gut tells me to mention it - and I do. I told him that there was a baby in the stroller near the entrance to the parking area and I had been in the area for nearly 15 minutes and have yet to see a parent with the infant. He says he'll keep a watch and hopefully the mother is in the general vicinity. I went ahead in the show. I had to get up early because Levi was screaming and hungry. We made our way down the millions of stairs and over to our stroller and that baby was STILL there and the CM was gone :scared1: I stayed in the area until I saw my husband and Ava coming, loaded the kids up in the stroller, and told hubs about the baby. About then a mother and two other small children come up to the abandoned stroller and infant and begin loading up their things. In complete disbelief I said something like "wow, he sure has been napping soundly!" to the mother and she replied that she didn't want to wake him and since this was DISNEY she knew he'd be safe..... So she watched the entire stunt show with her two other children while leaving her infant unattended. I almost passed out.... I just stared at her in shock and she turned around and left... I still can't believe how careless. I shutter to think what could have happened...

wow. that is unbelievable about the baby. I would have been freaking out too. I can't believe the cm wasn't required to call security or something - that can't be legal to do! she was lucky the baby didn't wake up, or worse.

I am enjoying reading your trip report so far! I hope you will continue it, but I am sure you are super busy! I CAN NOT believe that woman left her infant alone and the CM did nothing about it! That is just crazy!! I also follwed you over the Feb. 2013 thread because we are going in Feb. Can't wait!!! :cool1:

:sad2: DISer of the year award goes to me!!!! NOT..... My poor neglected TR from December 2011.... School has overtaken my entire mind, body, and soul! I WILL come back with an update! Pictures are uploading tonight :cool1: Gotta finish this one so I can start the next!!!

popcorn:: Just popping over from my PTR. I noticed your link to this holiday TR. Will sub and come back and read in a little bit when my boys are napping.

Welcome aboard :cheer2: Pictures all uploaded last night and I'll be updating this afternoon/evening depending on when/if my kids nap! Thanks for joining!!

We continued on our journey around the studios. The kids were getting hungry so we decided on a quick burger and chicken strips as a pick-me-up before the parade started!

Snapped a quick picture of the crowds along our way! I was surprised that it was so busy since I had heard early December was a slower time! We didn't pay attention to the recommended parks per day though, and I'm sure that probably had a bit to do with it!

We grabbed a quick lunch at Rosie's All American Cafe and it was delish! I had the chicken strips and fries and DH had the onion straw burger and fries. We both had the chocolate fudge cake for dessert. The kids split a kid's chicken strip plate.

We saw some of the Streetmosphere performers along the way.

After lunch we headed to catch the parade! This is such a short parade, but good characters! Levi loved it, Ava was exhausted and did this....

The parade was fun and Levi waved and screamed "HIIIIII" to everyone!

After the parade crowds disbursed, we made our way down to our two favorites!! Tower or Terror and Rock-n-Rollercoaster!

The standby line was 25 minutes for ToT, so we grabbed a child swap pass and I headed to ride first while DH let the kids run around in the area right outside the ToT giftshop. I was out in about 35 minutes and he went on in with his rider swap pass (most awesome thing ever!!). He was out in 15 minutes and said it was a walk-on with his rider swap pass! I really wanted to go again, but the kids were getting ancy, so we headed over to RnR to see what the wait was. The stand-by line was 75 minutes but the single rider was only 10! In to the single rider line hubby went and I grabbed a rider swap pass. The kids enjoyed running around in the big area outside RnR while we waited for hubby. He was back in no time and I decided to just use the single rider line instead of using my rider swap pass. As always, RnR didn't disappoint! When I got through, hubby decided to use my rider swap pass (not sure if this is technically allowed - shhhh!) and rode again!!

After the kids VERY patiently waited while both DH and I rode RnR and ToT they were getting a little agitated. To compensate them for their troubles, their very first Mickey Bar was promised!

Up next: Ava & Levi's FIRST Mickey Bar!!!
