Dec 2011: We Planned In LESS Than 48 Hours! Update!!! 8/10!!!

...arriving at the Poly was like a dream!

We adore the Poly but it is WAY pricey!! We want to celebrate our anniversary there one year, but for now - we just eat there and soak it all in! We were all really excited about 'Ohana because it is one of our favorites and I scored an ADR less than 24hrs in advance  So we arrive at the Poly and head on over to 'Ohana! Immediately I see a killer crowded waiting area and bar and once I take a glimpse at the check in line, I know we have no chance of getting in early. Keep in mind now, I shouldn't be expecting much since it is only 6:15 and we have a 9:55 ADR :scared1: We just couldn't last any longer with two cranky, hungry kids, a cranky hungry hubby, soaking wet from the rain, and ready for some yummy bread pudding and skewers! The reason we had such a late ADR is that I booked 'Ohana 24 hours before our arrival and it was the only time during our entire trip that 'Ohana had an opening - it was fate - I had to take it no matter how late! So we moseyed on to the check-in line and filed in. There were at least 20 people waiting in the "no reservation" line and about 5 in the ADR line. The line moved quickly and we explained the situation to the CM. She said she was so sorry but they were actually overbooked that night and she didn't see how we could be seated before 9:55. She said the last seating before ours was at 7:30 - 1 hour and 15 minutes from now and that it would be the last possibility of getting in early, but there were 16 people ahead of us waiting for an early slot. We strongly considered just canceling and getting pizza, but the fire roasted skewers were calling me and I made DH get a pager and said we'd wait.

So the hubster headed to the bathroom and I started walking around the Poly soaking it all in. We walked a bit - walked outside a bit - changed the kiddos diapers and freshened them up, and rested on the bench. We went in the giftshop and Ava played with a few toys, tried on a tiara, and fell in love with a stuffed Mickey. The hubby decided to head to the bar and get something to drink while I let the kids peruse the giftshop. Not a minute after he left, he was back again with a huge grin and held up our pager which was blinking red! I gathered up the kiddos and we headed off to our feast!

The CM greeted us and wished us a Happy Anniversary and told Ava Happy Birthday and said that even though we had a super late reservation, she thought we could use a little pixie dust and some yummy food right now! This was me at that point :worship:

We headed off to our table and already I was excited because we had a great, unobstructed view of the castle from where we were sitting! It's hard to see it in the pictures, but in person we could see it clears as day and it was awesome! Ava loved being able to see Cinderella's castle from the restaurant and constantly asked what Cinderella was doing all through dinner.

'Ohana welcome bread was served and it was delish as always! Ava nearly ate an entire loaf by herself and Levi devoured piece after piece also!

Before the first course came around the hula games started! The hula master was calling for volunteers to learn the hula and of course Ava takes any chance she can get to dance! We left daddy to the welcome bread and headed off to learn the hula! Ava had a blast and STILL asks me to help her hula at home by saying "pineapple, coconut, mango, papaya" like they do at 'Ohana!

We arrived back to the table and out came the salad which I adore, DH thinks is ok, Levi tossed on the floor (don't worry, mama picked it up!), and Ava poked it with daddy's paper umbrella and asked why I wanted her to eat leaves...

145.jpg

Next up with the chicken wings & deep fried pork potstickers. I have a secret love affair with the pork potstickers and devoured way too many :rotfl: I don't eat any form of meat on a bone (only boneless - odd, I know), so I didn't partake of the chicken wings. The hubs ate quite a few though and loved the flavors! Levi enjoyed teething on the chicken bones and devoured 3 potstickers! He loved dipping them in the special sauces - he's a HUGE dipper! Ava didn't have any of the above. She's my picky girl!

150.jpg

Can you tell Levi is my big eater? He gets super excited when the food starts arriving!

155.jpg

After the appetizer course came the super yummy noodles and broccoli. I was hoping the broccoli would be good because I was craving veggies! Oftentimes at 'Ohana - any everywhere! - broccoli that is steamed/sauteed isn't cooked and is still crunchy and I don't care for it that way. Thankfully this was a success!! The broccoli was perfectly tender! I love dipping it in the sweet/sour sauce - to die for! Also had a healthy portion of the noodles and they were delish as always! Hubs had both and enjoyed them. Levi and Ava both had a nice size portion of the noodles, but didn't care for the veggie - which is typical of these two.

151.jpg

A quick picture - and of course both kiddos are stuffing their faces!

147.jpg

Ava was amazed by the H-U-G-E skewers!

152.jpg

Skewers of meat were served. Pork, steak, chicken, and shrimp. Hubs had TONS of shrimp and said they were to die for! I don't eat shrimp, so I can't vouch for that. I had lots of the chicken and it was tender, juicy and wonderful! The pork was great too! Unfortunately the steak was terrible! I'm not sure what happened because both other times we've dined at 'Ohana the steak has been excellent! It was pure fat - hardly no meat. We even requested another portion and it was the same. We still had plenty, but we normally love that steak!

After the main course came dessert! A huge bowl full of pineapple coconut bread pudding arrived with ice cream and a generous serving of banana's foster sauce - pure heaven :cloud9: Levi could have eaten the entire bowl by himself I believe, but Ava didn't care for it. The hubs and I adored it as always and were happy to eat Ava's portion!

166.jpg

Immediately after the bread pudding came a celebration cupcake for the hubster & me for our anniversary :lovestruc

163.jpg

Followed by a celebration cupcake for Ava with a birthday candle! She was excited! "For me? For my birthday? From MICKEY MOUSE???".

162.jpg

174.jpg

175.jpg

Nothing better than dipping a special birthday cupcake from Mickey Mouse in a big bowl of vanilla ice cream at nearly 10pm :thumbsup2

165.jpg

Just as we were wrapping up I heard the familiar tune - the tune that brings tears to my eyes each and every time. The Wishes theme song. Another little bit of pixie dust :wizard: We had a clear view of Wishes from our table - such a special way to end the night!

169.jpg

We were still very impressed with 'Ohana! I adore the atmosphere and the food is always top notch (apart from the steak experience this time). One negative is that we felt really rushed this time :confused3 We hardly got one platter of food before they were bringing something else. Perhaps it was just because they were so busy. Next time if we are rushed we'll just ask for more time with the current dish I suppose. Overall - an A+ meal and we will certainly be back next trip! 'Ohana is the first reservation we always make!

We headed back to the monorail, zipped over to the Magic Kingdom and boarded a bus "home" to Pop Century! After a long dive to Florida and a long first day, the kiddos were wiped and fell asleep on the bus. We carried them to the room, slipped off shoes and pants, changed diapers, and snuggled them in bed without them ever waking! Now *THAT* is some sound sleeping! I was a little worried about noise levels as we were poolside and even though it was in the 50's there were at least 15 people in the pool! Thankfully they were very respectful and apart from the occasional yell, we never even knew they were there!

* Up next: Our first park day! Magic Kingdom!

I'm in! Your children are SO cute! I agree with PP regarding the 48 hour planning time! I don't know if I am brave enough to do that either! Keep the updates coming! :)

Welcome aboard explorer :dance3:

Thank you - I think they are pretty cute myself - except at bedtime :rotfl: And yeah, 48 hours worth of planning was killer intense but SO awesome!

....something about being at WDW makes kiddos wake at the crack of dawn!

Typically my kiddos both sleep until at least 9am, and quite often I can find them still asleep at 10am! However on this particular morning they were both wide awake and wide open at 7:15! I made the hubster begrudgingly get out of bed and toss some clothes on and head to the check-in desk to "check-in" for our package since the previous day had been room only. I also begged him to hit up the food court on his way back and fill up the anticipated refillable mugs with piping hot coffee and grab a chocolate milk for the kiddos to split.

While he was off running the errands I got the kiddos bathed and dressed and packed the bag for the day. Unfortunately a grumpy hubby returned with our new KTTW cards, but no mugs or coffee. Apparently the regular dining plan doesn't come with a refillable mug, only the quick service and deluxe plans do - which doesn't make a bit of sense (hear that Disney?). I told him we might as well purchase two refillable mugs since we'd be buying coffee every morning and at least 1-2 drinks during the day/night, so off he headed to the food court. A few minutes later he returned and informed me that they were sold out of refillable mugs. Irritated, I got dressed quickly and we headed out to the bus stop with pop tarts in hand. I decided to stop by the food court along the way and just purchase coffee or else I'd be grumpy all day long :rolleyes1 $10 worth of coffee for my and the hubs + a $3 choco milk and we were on our way!

The bus stop for MK wasn't packed at all - which was a good sign considering the crowd level was only predicted 1.9 from touring plans. The bus ride was smooth and we arrived at MK in no time! We got up to the gate, made it through bag check and then I heard the infamous "uhhh ohh". I turned around to see a bewildered hubby. He had forgotten our KTTW cards! I am notorious for losing things, so he 'demanded' he keep mine as well in his wallet and ended up only grabbing his and not mine. We decided to just send him back alone instead of folding, unfolding, folding, unfolding, folding the stroller all over again. The look of horror on a nearly 3 year old's face when you tell her she has to wait a little while longer while daddy goes back to the room for mommy's ticket is priceless....

119.jpg

While he went back for my card I took a few pictures and let the kiddos wander around. They loved seeing the monorail come in and the boats come and go!

098-1.jpg

092.jpg

I enjoyed the beautiful flowers (even in the middle of December!) and took the opportunity to snap a few shots.

071.jpg

072.jpg

075-1.jpg

We also saw the sign for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party which we were attending that night and Ava was super excited!! She couldn't wait to go to Mickey Mouse's party!

096-1.jpg

Ava isn't a big pop tart girl and asked for something else. Thankfully mommy was prepared! We brought along about 20 of these squeeze pouches! Disney themed with various characters and offer a full serving of both fruits AND veggies! Bonus - they are only $.98 at walmart :woohoo: She loves them and quickly picked "tangled" for breakfast!

105-1.jpg

It took the hubs 1hr and 28 minutes to get to POP, get the KTTW card, and get back to MK. Finally we were set and ready to....

064-1.jpg

Mainstreet USA was as breathtaking as it always is! Christmas decorations make it even more magical!

157.jpg

I love that it looks like the lanterns are earrings on the mickey head!

110-1.jpg

A few more pictures from Main Street USA.

159.jpg

165-1.jpg

This picture is probably one of my most favorite one's of the entire trip. My two babies walking down Main Street USA, hand in hand, celebrating their first Disney trip!

154.jpg

Her first view of Cinderella's Castle! I will never, ever forget the look in her eyes! It was pure magic.

108.jpg

A quick family picture - another favorite from this trip!

117-1.jpg

Since the line to meet the Princesses was only 10 minutes, we decided to do that first! I knew that would be a great kick-off for Ava! While waiting in line, Ava found herself a mini Prince Charming and they held hands for quite awhile! I thought it was cute, daddy didn't - lol.

121-1.jpg

Our first Princess was Princess Aurora, or as Ava calls her, Sleeping Boogy. She was very sweet, but is it just me or does Aurora look a tad old....

129-1.jpg

Next was Belle who took time to write Ava a special birthday message in her autograph book which Ava thought was so cool!

140.jpg

Lastly, her most favorite of all - Hinnerhella

142.jpg

152-1.jpg

Even Levi decided to venture close to Cinderella (wouldn't go near the others)

147-1.jpg

I was really impressed with the Princess meet and greet! Each princess really took individual time with Ava and we didn't feel rushed in the least! I'm glad we did the meet and greet early because it put us in a magical mood and set a great tone for the day! Ava was eager to head on and ride some rides and go inside the castle, so off we went!

* Next installment: Magic Kingdom - Part 2 - Adventureland, Frontierland & Liberty Square!

Errrr are my pics huge on the above post to anyone else, or is it just me?? I re-sized in PB but they are massive on my end :confused3

I love the pic of your 2 little ones walking hand in hand !! Too precious.
Great pics with all the Princesses too. :thumbsup2

Btw .. your hubby didn't have to go all the way back to get your KTTW card .. my daughter has forgotten hers (a few times ) and she just tells the CM at the entrance and they get her through. (forgot exactly what they did .. but somehow it all worked out).

The picture size is perfect! I'm loving all of the pictures!

Good! Last night they were showing up HUGE on my end, but this morning they look normal!

Ahhh! Such good information to know. We figured we *had* to have it as that is the 'disney lifeline'. Good info for next time in case it ever happens again!

And thanks - I adore that picture of the kiddos hand in hand too - absolutely love it!

When my kids were little, many years ago, one night DH came home on Wed and said lets go to WDW. This was before the internet so next morning I went to the travel agent and Sat we went to WDW. We told the kids when they came home from school FRi. It was a lot of fun but I really enjoy the planning and talking about it for months.

Your children are beautiful and I am loving your report.

WOW your TR is moving along as fast as your planning. You can move! :)

I got all teary eyed seeing the pics of your big reveal to DD. How sweet:lovestruc

Sounds like a great start. I see that a pp let you know that DH did not have to all the way back I did that in 09 when I forgot DD's KTTW card & they let us through & let us go to the customer service hut. easy peasy!

.....away we went to Adventureland!

166-1.jpg

Greeted by the happy tiki dude as always!

167-1.jpg

Meeting all those Princesses sure wears a little dude out!

005.jpg

Of course the very second we walked into Adventureland, the all mighty dole whip float was calling my name. Seriously, I worship this creation :worship: Soft-serve + Fresh Pineapple + Fresh Pineapple Juice = HEAVEN! I was a little bummed since Levi was sound asleep in the Ergo and I knew he'd love it - but I just couldn't wait! I had to have it now! After all, we could always come back and get another one later when he was awake! I sent daddy off to purchase two and sat down to get Ava out of the stroller and I see this.

003.jpg

Darn. She too will miss out on the dole whip goodness.... Oh well, more for me! We'll snag her and Levi one later! I found a nice sunny spot for us to sit and enjoy these creations and soon the hubs arrived!

006-1.jpg

Absolute heaven I tell ya! I know there is a recipe floating around the dis for these, but I don't have the nerve to make it at home... I KNOW it wouldn't be the same! The wonderful whip was just as dreamy as it has always been! Sweet but a tiny bit tangy, cold, and delish! I eat mine by taking a bite of ice cream and a tiny taste of pineapple juice at the same time.

007.jpg

We polished off our whips, I transferred Levi to the stroller, and away we went!

012.jpg

We took some time to wind in and out of a few little shops we had never been in before and let the kids rest a bit so we'd have a cranky-free day. The kiddos ended up sleeping for about 45 minutes and Levi was ready for a snack when he woke up! Another handy fruit squeeze pouch to the rescue!

326.jpg

The first ride we came to was of course Aladdin's Magic Carpets and Ava was so excited to ride! She was jumping up and down and also thought it was super funny that the camel 'spit' on her!

330.jpg

The best thing about kiddos this size and lines is that a quick toss up on your shoulders and your arms are free and they aren't trying to run or cry because they don't want to stand still!

332.jpg

333.jpg

The line had a posted 20 minute wait and it was definitely every bit of that 20 minutes if not a little more. Definitely worth is though because both kids had a blast and wanted to do it again!

350.jpg

352.jpg

We decided to skip the Treehouse this time since we've done it several times and we didn't want to have to carry two kiddos up and down the house. We skipped the Tiki Room and the Jungle Cruise too and I didn't even realize it! I tried to be as go-with-the-flow as possible for this trip since it A. was unplanned and B. we have 2 under 2.... I'm bummed though because we've NEVER done the Jungle Cruise! Next time!

We headed on over to Pirates of the Caribbean next and boy what a mistake that was..... Ava cried nearly the entire way through.... It scared her to death! I hadn't expected it to frighten her as it isn't the most "realistic looking" ride, but I was wrong. The bombs, the darkness, the skulls.... She hated it. Once we were out we spotted Goofy which made everything better! There were only 2 people in line, so we hopped in!

Ava ran up to meet him!

353.jpg

354.jpg

Goofy was admiring her Birthday Button!

355.jpg

After our photo op with Goofy we headed into Frontierland and one of my favorites....

171.jpg

169-1.jpg

Ava didn't quite make the mark for height, so she had to sit this one out and wasn't too happy about it. Poor baby! I promised her next time she'd be tall enough (she has about 3" and we won't be back until 2014 :scared1: So I'm POSITIVE she'll be tall enough then!). We got a child swap card from the CM and the hubs took the kiddos to the little play area under the railrode station while I went through the line. Standby time was only 10 minutes and the entire 10 minutes was walking the queue! The ride was a complete walk on and I thankfully was seated in the very back so I didn't get wet! After I rode I swapped with the hubs and he rode - also a complete walk on for him! Didn't even need that child swap fast pass!

We skipped Tom's Island since it would be more trouble than it's worth with two kiddos who are HUGE explorers... Just didn't want to keep track of them on the island = plus it isn't a 'must see' for us. It's just kinda a ho-hum attraction. We also skipped Big Thunder since Ava wasn't tall enough plus the stand-by wait was 45 minutes already. Another thing we sadly, accidentally skipped was the Country Bear Jamboree! I know the kids would have probably loved it, but for some reason we skipped it and we've NEVER done it either! Oh well, next time!

We ventured on to Liberty Square and decided to skip the Hall of Presidents since Ava was already fidgety after not being able to ride Splash and we wanted her to enjoy whatever we did next. We asked if she would like to ride the big Liberty Boat, but she declined. She decided she wanted to go inside Cinderella's Castle. I explained to her that Cinderella doesn't allow anyone into her Castle because it is a secret place where she keeps all of her beautiful blue dresses and glass slippers - plus she was getting ready for a show! I did tell her we could walk through her castle's bottom floor and look at Cinderella's beautiful mosaic walls and her restaurant! We made our way back to the Castle and turned to go inside and realized it was completely blocked from both sides! We asked a CM if it was temporary and would we be able to walk through later that day and she said it would be blocked until the very last MVMCP!! We were so, so, so disappointed! The entire way to Florida Ava talked about getting to go inside Cinderella's Castle and I had to explain to her that she couldn't. Thankfully she was pretty accepting when I told her Cinderella had hired special people to come paint her walls, scrub her floors, and dust her cobwebs so the castle would be **** and span for our next trip when we ate in the Castle!

Even though she seemed satisfied with my answer, she was a little sad still and wouldn't look at me for the picture....

175-1.jpg

We talked about what to do next and our fearless leader asked for the map so that she could decide!

183.jpg

Ava declared that the map told her we should find somewhere to eat lunch! We had planned on a counter service place for lunch, but hubster wanted to redeem ourselves after the Castle incident and hurried off to see if the Crystal Palace had any openings! After all, lunch with Pooh surely would make everything better! I headed off to the Baby Center to do some diaper changes and when I met him back near the Crystal Palace the buzzer was already going off and we were ready to be seated!

Random picture right before going inside

292.jpg

(continued in post below, can only include up to 25 pics per post)

It was pretty busy, but we were thankfully seated close to the buffet at a corner window table - a really nice location! Our waiter was super nice and came to take our drink orders immediately. Two chocolate milks for the kiddos (free!), a sprite for myself, and a coke for the hubs. We decided to all go up to the buffet together so that we could get food quickly and not miss the characters. Both sides of the buffet were pretty packed - there were at least 15-18 people in front of me not including those already at the buffet filling their plates! The line moved fairly quickly and we were very impressed with the selection for the adults and the mini children buffet selections as well! We filled our plates and a plate for each kid and headed back to our table!

Ava was thrilled she got cheese pizza and chicken nuggets - her 2 most favorite things in this world! Her tip top favorite thing is mac & cheese, but they didn't have any.

294.jpg

Ava's plate - all of which was devoured apart from the noodles w/ marinara - she did eat the meatball and said it was super yummy! She was also all excited that her cup had mickey heads on it.

307.jpg

Within 5 minutes of sitting down the characters starting arriving! First of all Pooh arrived and Ava gave him a gigantic hug!

297.jpg

299.jpg

Next Eeyore arrived and Ava loved her (I always thought Eeyore was a him - it is, isn't it? Just has a pink bow?) pink bow on her tail!

300.jpg

Unfortunately Levi wasn't as thrilled as Ava was with the characters. In fact, he was terrified! He screamed bloody murder at Eeyore and actually hid underneath the table from Pooh!

309.jpg

We had a little break after Eeyore and daddy and Ava gobbled some more food down!

302.jpg

This is a super random picture, but it was an accident and turned out kinda cool, so I thought I'd toss it in!

303.jpg

I finally coaxed Levi back out from under the table and got him to eat a chicken nugget... Poor little guy!

312.jpg

Next to come around was Piglet. Ava played peekaboo wit Piglet and Piglet played back!

324.jpg

Levi wasn't too scared of Piglet, he was too busy stuffing himself!

318.jpg

Ava really enjoyed Piglet and Piglet spent the most time at our table than any of the other characters!

322.jpg

323.jpg

Unfortunately we were all finished up and ready to go before Tigger made it around, so no picture with him! Next time!

I did nab a picture of my food and dessert plate, but didn't snap a pic of DH's food before he devoured it!

314.jpg

313.jpg

We really, really enjoyed the food here! It was our first lunch at the CP, but we had done breakfast before and absolutely loved it! DH and I both loved the ham and the citrus marinated steak - the steak was cooked perfectly! The veggie medley w/ balsamic glaze was to die for yummy too! Levi loved the smashed potatoes and so did I. The flame roasted chicken was delish too - spiced perfectly and so juicy!!

We didn't try any of the salads or soups, so I can't comment on those. The only things we didn't care for were the salmon which was super fishy (though some may like it that way!), and the cinnamon and lemon infused rice - it had a really odd flavor. Everything else was wonderful!

The dessert buffet was great! The flan was seriously the best I had ever eaten - it was wonderful! They also had delish bread pudding! Ava and Levi enjoyed the ice cream and cookies!

We definitely enjoyed our meal here and will be making both a lunch and dinner reservation (on different day) for our next trip!

Up Next: Fantasyland & A Resort Break!

Joining in... I thought we had a last minute vacay with 35 days til we left... I'm impressed. I love the fruities pouches. Can't wait to read more.:goodvibes

Awesome report so far! It's bad Levi didn't enjoy the characters at CP as much as Ava. I can't wait to read the rest of your report.

Finally settled down after the holidays! Needing a Disney fix - update coming tonight!!! :dance3:

With our tummies full of the yummies from The Crystal Palace, we were off to Fantasyland!

As soon as we stepped out of the Crystal Palace, we were of course greeted by the majestic castle again....

Music begin to fill the area! The street party was going down right in front of the castle! Of course my two dancing babies were dying to join in the action!

Woody & Jessie danced with the kids - Ava LOVED that - she was in total heaven!

The street dance party was really fun - lots of characters out dancing with the kiddos! Super packed and kinda short, but so fun!

As we walked the path around Cindy's Castle to Fantasyland I could see the excitement building in Ava's eyes! Fantasyland is the ultimate wonderland - especially for a dreamer like my little girl!

The first thing she spotted was the carousel and of course we had to stop dead in our tracks to ride! Our local mall has a carousel inside and we have to ride every single time - so she *loves* carousels! Something special about a Disney carousel though!

After five, yes FIVE, spins on the carousel - daddy and Ava tried their luck with the sword in the stone!

Of course they didn't have any luck, but Ava sure got a kick out of trying!

We wandered around Fantasyland for a bit deciding what to do next. Ava spotted Peter Pan and Pooh, but with a 70 minute wait each, mommy nixed that idea and promised we'd ride later for sure! I got a few shots of the Fantasyland expansion - nothing great - just quick shots.

Ava spotted the Mad Tea Party and proclaimed that as our next adventure.

The line wasn't too terribly long - about 20 minutes - and it was well worth it! The simple rides seem to bring the most joy to little ones and this didn't disappoint!

After two spins around the Tea Party we were off in search of something else! I spotted Snow White and even though the hubs cautioned me that it may frighten her, I dismissed his concern. Boy was I wrong! It scared the daylights out of Ava and she got off the ride a complete sobbing mess. Bad mommy of the day award! I'm seriously glad Disney is getting rid of this ride!! I'm excited to see it being replaced by a much more tame Snow White themed ride! I can't wait to see the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train!

In order to fix the meltdown a bottle of water, a fruit squeezy pouch, and lots of snuggles were given. Crisis over!

We decided to do one more ride before heading back to the resort to regroup before MVMCP and Ava picked out Pooh! Since it was a 30 minute wait, we decided to go for it. The "honey" walls definitely kept her entertained - she was fascinated! And Levi happily snuggled on my back in our carrier. She *loves* honey so this ride was a total hit for her! Levi really enjoyed it too and exclaimed "ooook" (look) the entire time!

After Pooh, we decided to head back to the room to relax for just a bit before changing clothes and heading back to MVMCP. The bus ride was uneventful and we had about an hour to rest and relax before we decided to head back!

Up next: MVMCP - we will *never* do it again with a child under the age of 5!

i just had to say hi so you know you are not writing to an empty wall! Ava looks so cute ...sorry Levi was not ready to meet Pooh yet....but that will be a first for him next time.

I would be so sick from one round of teacups, you get a prize for going twice. The park must have low if you were able to do rides multiple times. Or was it just thhe carousel and teacup?

I love how you just let the kids set the ride pace....no stress of trying to do it all:thumbsup2

No crowds weren't as low as I expected! Average "small ride" wait was 30 minutes and large were 90-120+. We scored the teacups and carousel during the parade and it was much slower then!

thanks for joining, I do feel a bit alone in here *echo echo* :rotfl:

I believe I have a few 'secret followers' because there are tons of views, but little comments! C'mon lurkers - OUT!

Finishing up the MVMCP update now :wizard:

Welcome to....

We arrived back at the Magic Kingdom about 6:45pm - just before the party was officially getting started. We walked down Main Street and the snow was already swirling through the air - it was beautiful! Coming from South Carolina - rare is the day we see snow! So even fake snow is exciting!! They loved trying to catch the snow and eat it.

Everything is so beautiful at Christmas time at WDW - the magic is thick in the air :santa: Even the balloons dress up!

I head Ava gasp and looked down to make sure she was alright! She had spotted Cinderella's Castle all iced-out and in a beautiful royal shade of blue! She exclaimed it was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen - and it was.

We rarely ever have pictures taken together since I'm typically the one behind the camera - so this is one of my favorites from the entire trip!

We took our time walking down Main Street and taking in the sights - enjoying the decorations and the snow! Cinderella's Castle was so beautiful lit up! We decided to head to a few things we had missed earlier - and a favorite - Space Mountain! As we passed by Cosmic Ray's, Ava let us know she was hungry, so we stopped for dinner first.

Ava & Levi split a kiddo's chicken strip meal - and they ate every bit. The hubs and I both had bacon cheeseburgers and they were tasty.

We had planned to do the late parade, and since the early parade was about to start - we decided to continue on and do some rides while most everyone was doing the parade.

We wandered around and thought about riding Stitch, but the kids aren't tall enough and we didn't want to take turns for just ourselves. We went on to the Buzz Lightyear ride, but the wait was 75 minutes, so we passed on that (and boy was Ava upset....). We decided on Space Mountain since it was only a 20 minute wait and we did child swap and we grabbed fast passes to use as well! Space was all decked out for the holiday's!

While DH and I took turns riding Space, Ava participated in some Mickey hopscotch! She got a nice little "magical moments' certificate which she thought was super cool. Levi ran around a bit and tried to hula hoop as well!

After space & hopscotch, we decided to find a place for the fireworks! We found a nice place, with a great view. This didn't turn out perfectly crisp and clear, but is one of my favorite shots of that night!

The fireworks soon started and it became very clear that Levi didn't appreciate them too much (no biggie, he snuggled down in the carrier and almost went to sleep), but Ava did enjoy them! Unfortunately, I was super disappointed.... Yes, the fireworks were beautiful - but they just were not "Wishes".... Totally no one's fault that I was bummed, but it just didn't feel like a perfect ending without Wishes and the tear-jerking soundtrack that comes along with it! I missed it... Even more bummed that the other day we had MK planned was a party night as well - so I wouldn't get to see Wishes at all! Next year though - next year!

Gearing up with their Rudolph antlers for the fireworks!

We ducked out of the fireworks before they were officially over and cruised over to Fantasyland. We had planned to ride the carousel again for Ava and then continue on to some other rides! Unfortunately, the kiddos had other plans.....

I knew we were taking a huge risk with a 1 & 2 yr old at an after-hours party, and I was right - sound asleep!! I think we'll hold off on any other after-hours ticketed events until they are a bit older and we can get our money's worth!

We walked through Fantasyland and back down Main Street and caught this on our way out - one last glimpse.

We headed back to the resort and amazingly enough - both kiddos slept on the bus and we transferred them to bed without anyone waking up!

Your daughter's reaction at the reveal was priceless! She is adorable! I am not so sure my kids would have been that sweet at 3am. ;)

'Ohanas looks delicious and we are looking forward to trying it for the first time on our next visit. How awesome that you got to squeeze in earlier then your ressie AND you got a great view of Wishes from your table!!!

I LOVE all your pictures and am looking forward to reading more; thanks for sharing!

glad I found this - I really enjoy reports featuring little kids! I think your little guy is around the same age as mine, when is his b.day? Simon's is Aug 14.

I love how you were able to get into crystal palace last minute like that! we've only done character dining once before and my husband thinks it was a waste of money, so not sure we'll do it again either! :(
