Dec 2011 Car Rental Rates

I have 12/5 to 12/13 and used the same coupon. I got $169.38. Guess I'll have to go look up the Entertainment ID as I have the Entertainment book, too. edit: I found my book and now my rate is $150 using the Entertainment code from the 2011 book! Yay!

This is much better than my reservation using my executive status with National. That one is coming up to $273.59! I'll give up the executive aisle and take the mid size SUV to savemore than $100 in a heartbeat.

12/2 to 12/12, 10 day midsize with National, $172.29 picking up at MCO, dropping off at Car Care Center. 6100120 or 5760339 and ND8578ADT.
I wanted to pick up at CCC, but that rate is still $281.89..

Payless car rental- dropped $20 from my original price. I had to take an itty bitty car to get this, where before they were the same price, but for this price we'll manage with a car the size of a big wheel. lol

$87.50 for 11/30-12/5

Mine is killing me!

We're driving with my sister's family so need a minivan. Coming from Mobile, AL- p/u Dec 16 evening & drop off Dec 27 in morning... $489 :scared1:

I just know there's a better deal out there somewhere but keep coming up empty handed! :sad2:

A membership number is needed to use these codes according to National. Who are they from?

Only 6100120 AARP needs a membership number, 5760339 is Carlson Travel and no membership id required..

Just keep checking and using different codes to see what gives you the better deal. When we first started looking it was over $800. I booked when it was $500 and its dropped all the way down to $302.It seems to drop every few days

I have a question for you guys :goodvibes

Right now I am thinking of using an entertainment book coupon for budget that is a free double upgrade. That brings the price of a smaller SUV down to $325 for 10 days in mid December.

I was just wondering though...do rental prices ever drop drastically if you wait until last minute? My situation is that we have 10 of us who are driving from PA to WDW in mid December, we were thinking of taking 2 of our own cars and traveling with 5 in each (we do have some kids, so it would be a squished ride but no unbearable). So for us, renting an SUV isn't a must, but it would be nice if we could find a real good deal.

So with that in mind, might it be worth it to wait and see if there are any last minute deals (do the car rental companies even do things like this?)

You'll be fine. Advantage is Hertz anyways.
If you're a AAA member try using CDP Number AAA and see if you can bring it down even less :)

LOL! I am lost!! I need a car (well, would really LIKE to have a car) from 12/14 to 12/23 from MCO. The absolute best I can find is hotwire at 11.95 a day for a midsize at $175.

But then I see all these other amazing deals and I put the codes in too! What am I doing wrong?

Guide me, oh great, knowledgeable car rental peeps, please? :flower3:

Hi Barbie! Honestly, your rate IS amazing. You are getting a mid-size car for a base rate of $84 per week. You may be able to shave off a few dollars with Priceline. Here is a tutorial on how to bid for cars on Priceline: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2496606

You should book the rate you have now since you can always cancel later. Rates can go down so I would keep on checking. You might also want to check some of your local car rental locations since you are driving from home. They can be less expensive than airport locations (or the same price without the airport fees).

Just booked a full size from Alamo for 11/25 to 12/03 for $120 with Alamo insiders ID and the $35 coupon code posted here. Thanks everyone for saving me some $$$.

Priceline was higher for these dates
