Dec 2010 Waitlist - Whose came through?

We have been waiting for one night, Dec 21st at AKV Jambo value studio for three months. We just got in at OKW for that night, but still hoping for AK so we won't have to move.

I just had a waitlist come through for 12/8 in a Boardwalk Studio - BW view which means I now have 12/8 - 12/10 at Boardwalk Villas. The next 5 nights are at AKV and my original intention was to work on getting all 7 nights at AKV, but I'm so thrilled with this waitlist coming through, I think I might just leave it alone.

I was waitlisted for a standard view studio at BWV for Dec 6....didn't think it was going to come thru. So, I booked AKL for that night. This was back in early spring. Well...just found out today that my waitlist has come through....got my standard studio for that one night. Thrilled I don't have to move.

Received my call from member services that my waitlist for a studio on December 14 -17 at BWV came thru. As a back up I had booked OKW. Now I need to waitlist the end of my trip for BWV so that I don't have to move in the middle of the trip but if I do no big deal! Good luck to all on the waitlist!

We have a 2 bedroom booked at AKV Kidani for 12/19 -/12-24. We are wait listed at BLT Lake view and BWV boardwalk view for a 2 bedroom but no luck so far. AKV is our home and we have stayed there the last couple of trips so a change of atmosphere would be welcome. I would love for either wait list to come through but will be happy at AKV if it doesn't. We will still be at Disney either way!

We are on a waitlist for BLT for 12/23-30 and BCV 12/26-30 Currently we booked at the 7 month mark, BCV 12/23-12/26 and 12/26-30 at SSR. We have never been to WDW and are excited to go, really hoping for BLT waitlist to come through! We own at GCV.

Strangely enough, they have the nights available on cash, just not on points.

I was on the phone with goofy4tink when she found out her waitlist came through. We had been talking about our plans for December, and she said, "It's not going to come through." I said, "I think it will. You have time." (This was a conversation we've had a few times in the past few months).

Sure enough I was right.

Now if only I could have luck with my waitlist for December so I don't have to switch rooms. I got on the waitlist right from the start at the 11 month window for a Boardwalk view room for the first two nights of my trip so I wouldn't have to switch rooms, or so I thought. When I called to confirm my waitlist, I found out the cast member had fouled up the dates, and they had to put me on the waitlist again, several months later, with the correct dates.

Only 66.8% of AKV has been declared for the DVC Membership. Thus, on any given Use Day, only about two-thirds of AKV can be booked by Members using points. The remaining one-third is owned by DVD and can be rented out by CRO for cash reservations.

I might end up just calling and canceling it. It requires a few more points then my 2 bd at OKW so I may just add a night to our March stay with the few extra points I have available.

I totally get where you are coming from. Part of my vacation planning fun is knowing where I will be staying and I can never get settled when I have a waitlist outstanding.

My wait list for 11/30 - 12/5 is still outstanding. We have a standard view studio for AKV for that week, but would love to upgrade to a 1BR or a Savanah view. .

Yes, the more Units declared more the DVC Membership, the better your chances of having your waitlist come through. Unfortunately, I don't think there will be a new AKV declaration in the next few months. The last declaration was made on 4/15/2010, and DVD still has over 550,000 points that have been declared but unsold. This is a huge surplus of points because AKV sold only 18,076 points in August 2010.

My waitlists have usually come through in the past, but not at this time of the year...especially for a standard view studio. But...I'm thrilled to say 'you were right, I was wrong' on this one.

My wait list came through a few weeks ago for 12/21 for a LV Studio at BLT but now I'm back on the wait list *sigh*. We are currently booked for 12/21 - 12/26 at BLT and then 12/26 - 1/2 at BWV. I realized on our trip last month that I have a better time at WDW when I break up my vacation with a visit to my in-laws in the middle instead of seeing them first and then doing Disney for 10 days straight. So ... I am back on the WL at BLT for 12/17 - 12/20. If that comes through 12/22 - 12/26 will open up as a Christmas present for someone .

I don't have too much faith that my WL will come through, though. I talked to MS today and EVERYTHING including SSR is booked up for 12/17 - 12/20.

Just checked the member site as I do every other day and today I saw that my waitlist came through. We now have a 1br garden/pool view at BWV 12/2-12/7. That frees up a 1br at OKW for someone. Now the only thing I have to figure out is how to get to the main entrance of Epcot from BWV for the holiday tour we are taking. I'm so happy! This trip we'll spend more time at DHS and Epcot (drinking) and being able to take the boat or walk will be perfect.

Well, I just can't seem to leave well enough alone. Finally found some decent airfare, but had to change my date to flying in one day earlier and leaving one day earlier. As such, I am now waitlisted for 12/7 for a Boardwalk studio, BW view.

Come on waitlist - show me the pixie dust.
