Dec. 2, 2007-4 night Wonder and MouseFest Cruise

Hi, All!

I have not been on the boards for a few weeks, as this is my busy season (I work in college admissions and it is college fairs season) plus our daughter's high school musical (no, not THAT one, but it was Disney....Aida!) Now those are winding down and I can focus on the fact that three weeks from today we will be sailing out of Nassau! And I can't wait. I have been doing some secret Santa shopping on my trips, and tonight we got out the suitcases, so it is beginning to look like....Mousefest!

I'm a little behind the threads, but DH Kevin and I will be at the Nov. 29 and Dec. 6 MVMCP. Wish there was some way we could identify each other. I'll be one of the several hundreds in a Santa hat too, unless it is unseasonably warm as it was in 2004, and in that case I will be the one with the bad 'hat hair'!

I don't recall any night being specifically designated as a 'dress up for dinner' night when we sailed in 04. Is this new? It seemed to me that the dress code was more in keeping with the restaurant--semi-casual for Parrot Cay, rather dressy for Triton's, and something in between for Animator's Palate, although I did see the full range of styles in all 3 places, so no worries. Which night is Pirate's night? That has been added since our cruise. What is the dining sequence now? Do you repeat the same restaurant 2 nights in a row--one for Pirates and the next for the specialty of the house?

Also, I just wanted to clarify the Secret Santa. I thought we were doing one gift per night per cabin, rather than per person. I may need to go find a few more items if we need one per person every night. Also, if this is "secret", will we have an opportunity to identify ourselves at the end of it all? Can we find some time to meet on our At Sea day, perhaps? I know I will want to thank my secret Santas! Have I missed some guidelines while I was out on the road and away from my email?

As for all the stress about dresses and packing, I'm trying not to worry or plan so much this time. Last time I felt as if I needed to study to pass a pop quiz or I might miss something. This time I am reminding myself it is all about fun and relaxation!

Well, you can always bum a diaper off of me! You'll recognize me--I'll be the frazzled one in the continual ponytail and stained up shirt that smells distinctly of baby poo, with a baby pawing at my chest as I stare longingly at eveyone else's mixed drinks! :scared1:

You are so funny! I bet your house is full of laughter.

Hi Vicki,
My DH and I will be on the Wonder on Dec. 2nd. We are from Roanoke. VA. I am 52, and my DH is 60. This is our first Disney cruise, but we have been going to WDW once or twice a year for longer than dirt has been around.:) Looking forward to the cruise. I understand there are a lot of Vickie/Vicki people aboard. We should have our own meet! Vicki T

Hi and welcome. I'm not a Vicky, Vickie, Vikki or Vicki, just a Marilyn!:lmao: I'm 59 and John is 60 - I think we get to oldest group member medal!:dance3: Looking forward to meeting you.

I'm going from memory of last year's cruise but we had the same restaurant on nights 2 and 3. Monday night was the dress up night and Tuesday night was pirate night, I think.

As for secret santa, I'm planning to do what you said. One gift per day per cabin. I did get a few extras for the one cabin on my list that has kids. Nothing big though. I think I spent about 10 bucks total on each cabin plus the extras for the kids.

Good morning all! My, my, my we are getting oh so close to our sail date. Anyone else receive their cruise docs? My TA said mine go out in the mail today. All I say is, "Whew!" I was nervous they wouldn't arrive before we leave for WDW the day after Thanksgiving, but now I can stop worrying about that. :)

I hope everyone has a terrific day!

Oops, I was going to do one drop with a few extras for kids. Did we say once a day?

Having a great day thanks.:) Got our docs last week - we fly on the 25th so was pleased to get them.

I know, I was confused too. I asked that in PM and was told it was one small gift per cabin per day. I had thought it was one item per cabin, too, and figured I'd missed something along the way.

Hi Vicki and welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice name :) You're right there are quite a few of us Vickie/Vickis. That's funny because it's not all that common of a name. We are from Wisconsin. I will add you to the list.

Vicki

I can't believe that we leave in just over 2 weeks :thumbsup2 I haven't received my cruise docs yet but hope to soon. If we don't get them by next week. I think I will e-mail my TA about it, since we leave on the 29th. We are renting a camper and driving down on that Thurs before. We hope to make a very brief stop at the Great Smokiey MT Natl. Park.

I still have a little secret santa shopping to do this weekend. Are we doing the secret santa on the 3rd, 4th and 5th and skipping the 1st night. I though I read something about this, but just wanted to make sure. I would feel bad if I missed a night. A group meet afterwards would be fun, let me know if we decide to do this. I am looking forward to meeting everyone soon!

There is some laughter, but mostly it's full of cobwebs and dust bunnies!
Hope everyone's moving along nicely with their plans...packing, daydreaming about sun and sand, etc. :yay:

I assumed it was all four nights so that's what I bought gifts for.

Oh dear, I obviously didn't read things correctly. Will have to have a bit of a reorganisation.:rolleyes1

Big senior moment there.:lmao:

IFY Secret Santa guildlines are on the my signature link. I have not orgianize anything like this before so I hope this clears up any confusion. this is to be fun.

The group has been divided in to 3 groups with 4 to 5 cabins in each, each person was sent a list with cabin info. Also, I recently posted all the cabin participating to make sure I had everyone. if there are any changes, after Nov 29 just contact me and leave a message Sunday Dec 2 at my cabin 2128 for any cabin upgrade.

the basic guildline is one item per cabin per day. However some have PM me and wanted to either do the entire group, or the list that I sent plus the children. Again this information below is just guildlines, to keep the cost down so that everyone can play. I dont want anyone feel they have to give per person.

Again I'm sorry for any confusion, I am so ready for the cruise:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Virginia:santa:

Secret Mickey gift given
Hang your favorite Holiday stockings outside your cabin and enjoy the fun.

1)No one has to feel obligate to give gifts,

2) The gifts do not need to be expensive One item per cabin, per day to help keep the cost down. I we will divide in to smaller groups. To be determined after Oct 30 deadline.

3)Secret santa would visit daily. Dec 3,4,5

Here are just some Ideas; Oriental trading company has lots of fun little trinkets for kids, Pirate item, Dollar store. Home made items like Christmas ornament (one per cabin), magnets, Postcards from your hometown to share, glow sticks treats. Ect….
.
PM me with your stateroom number so that Secret Santa/Mickey can locate you. Deadline Oct 30 th for final update to list. this allows time to put together the little items.

Thank you
Virginia

Thanks for that!:thumbsup2 I do appreciate you organising this and am sorry I didn't pick up on the 'rules'. I have been a skim reader all my life I'm afraid.:sad2:

So, 3 nights.:)

Going to be so much fun.

Thanks for all the clarification on the secret santa game Virginia. I too appreciate all the organizing you've done for this. This is my 1st time playing this game on the ship, so that why I have so many questions. :confused3 I guess it is 3 days then too. It should be fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait everyone!! :cool1: :goodvibes
