Dec. 2, 2007-4 night Wonder and MouseFest Cruise

Welcome to the thread, Karen and Doug!

Marc and I are taking a few days after the crusie and staying at VWL. We've only owned our points there for a year or so and this will be the first time home! We are definitely looking forward to it.

You might want to check out the Secret Santa / Mickey posts just a few pages back (I think it's post 383) to see if you'd like to participate.

I'm hoping that the parasailing will be back for this cruise. It's not listed as an option yet. Jason mentioned that there were issues with the boats, I guess.

Good luck to those who are planning on doing your Palo brunch and dinner ressies tonight/tomorrow. We were able to do ours last week and there was quite a bit of availability but those can go quickly, can't they!

Have a great holiday tomorrow for those are able to revel in that. Back to work on Tuesday for us!

Stay cool, folks!
Michael

Thanks! I signed up for the Secret Santa to particpate.

Parasailing IS back. We already signed up! See this schedule with the info as to how to do it: http://www.mousefest.org/cruiseevents2007.asp Go to the parasailing entry for Castaway Cay and the instructions are there.

I just did our Palo reservations for dinner on 12/3 at 6 pm (still have time to get to the show after dinner) and brunch at 11:30 am on 12/5. We're also doing the couples massage at Castaway Cay and my pedicure and manicure appointments are set for the sea day, too! :cool1:

I booked our Palo dinner for Monday night at 6 pm and brunch for 11:00. Is anyone else going at these times? I am so tired. Off to bed. Will check in tomorrow.

Ann Marie
Yes, my husband and I signed up for 6 pm dinner on Monday. You're a bit ahead of us for brunch, we're not there until 11:30 (needed time for my morning spa appointments, first.)

We signed up for dinner on night 2 this year because last year night 2 and 3 repeated in the same restaurant and night 3 was the Pirates night. I'm hoping that schedule is the same this year.

For those of us staying onsite after the cruise, you can now register for Mousefest on their website.

http://www.mousefest.org/register/default.asp

Here's the link for registration. I think the cruisers can register whether they are staying on after the cruise or not- it's all part of Mousefest!

We'll be on the cruise and then 5 nights at Boardwalk Villas. Our registration is in!

Hi, everyone! I should have looked for this thread much earlier than September! I normally hang out on the DVC threads.
My husband and I are going for our 3rd mousefest (or is it more? I forget) and 2nd Mousefest cruise. We loved it last year so we're signed up to repeat the cruise this year.

We did the parasailing last year (my husband's pic is up on the mousefest schedule for parasailing) and liked it. My husband loved it, and I made it through. I'm afraid of heights and did it anyway. We're doing it again this year, too! Yay!

I have to decide today what else we want to do since registration opens for us tonight at 1 am our time. I khow we want to do Palo's for dinner and brunch as well as a massage on Castaway Cay. Everything else is a "maybe" at the moment.

We're also staying on land 12/6-12/11 after the cruise at Boardwalk Villas, one of our homes. For that portion of the trip, we have my husband's family (parents, 3 siblings with spouses and kids) joining us. Really looking forward to that part of the trip, too!

I can't read the last 28 pages of this thread at the moment... anything I need to know about the cruise since I"m jumping in to this thread so late?

Karen and Doug

Hi Karen and Doug - glad you are coming on our cruise. As you have done the Mousefest cruise before you must have lots of hints and tips for us.

I am so jealous of you all getting your ressies in. This is our first cruise so have to wait till the 18th I think, so I am not holding my breath that we will get a booking. We only want brunch as I am not wanting to spend much extra this trip and can enjoy what the ship restaurants have to offer this time. Next May is another matter though!!:)

I just made my reservation for Palo Brunch 10:00am.

I have never been to Palo before and I am sooooooo excited.

I also went ahead and filled out most of the forms and registered my DD 12 for the Oceaneer Lab.

Hurry up Dec 2.

It was our first cruise last year so I had to wait for the 75 day mark. I got the parasailing and the dolphin excursion in Nassau, but was out of luck for brunch at Palo. You may be lucky and get brunch though, who knows?

It worked out in the end, our TA got us dinner at Palo on the first night and then we were invited to brunch at Palo in the private dining room there (by the travel agent) so we got to do brunch, too! Both dinner and brunch were wonderful.

As for parasailing, last night the site still said there were no reservations available. Definitely go through the Mousefest site to sign up for parasailing if you want to go.

I definately won't be parasailing, but I will ask John - I think he would love it, but I just daren't just book it as a surprise.

I will try for the brunch at 75 days out and if no luck then go straight away when we board as I believe they save some reservations till then.

Fear not, Marilyn! Chin up! They never put all the available reservations online so there will definitely be some availability once you get on board. My suggestion would be to immediately go to Wavebands (or wherever it will be notated in the Welcome Aboard flyer that you'll receive once you complete your check-in at the port) and get in line for those dining reservations you "might" not be able to get online (here's hoping that you do, however!).

Our flyer from last year notes that they do these sign ups beginning at 1:00 p.m. however, since you can't get into your rooms immediately I'd go directly to the location as SOON as you get on board. Yes, you'll want to look around, grab a bite to eat, and get ready for the pool, BUT deep breaths and elbows out will get you where you REALLY need to be! John won't know what got into you! hehehe:rotfl:

Be flexible with the time you'd like and SMILE!

Michael

You have a PM. :)

Thanks Karen.:thumbsup2

We are staying at POP after the cruise for 4 nights. We also have 7 nights at POR before, just changed there from POFQ to take advantage of the package. Unfortunately they had no availability at POFQ for the package. so, with 7 days of the dining plan I am already going to be rather full by the time we get to the cruise! Hope the clothes fit.:rotfl:

I'm certainly smiling Michael.:)

We're pretty good with the elbows actually - you have to be when you go to Disneyland Paris to stop the people pushing past in the queues! On the wide first part of the POTC cruise line it was just ridiculous and some other Brits started spreading their family out to block. They don't know what a queue is over there.

90 days to the sail away party:banana: Can't wait to have the salt water breeze blowing through my hair as we lounge on deck.

:wave2: Welcome Karen and Doug, great to have you join us. The thread is starting to take off. let shoot for page one of the board.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
Tom

Good morning from the UK. Lovely day today - just as the children go back to school!:)

It was hot enough over the weekend that we only ventured outside where required. And they're promising another today! I was surprised that the latest prediction is that it will be under 100F; we'll see how accurate the prediction is. And with school beginning for some children, traffic will be a mess. [Guess there's always something that can be complained about....]

At least the cruise is one day closer! pixiedust:

Hi all,

My husband took two of our kids to their 1st day of school today--4th grade and preschool. My 9 year old was excited to be back. So, the house is rather quiet this morning with only my 4 year old and 7 week old son here.:)

I was just thinking that 3 months from today we will be relaxing at Castaway Cay ---what a nice thought. :dance3:

Have a good day everyone!

Vicki

oh Virginia (ulittletinker) just to let you know that I PM you with our info for the secret santa yesterday. Sounds like fun!:santa:

Good Morning. Less than 3 months and we are finally ready to go. Everything is paid, all passports received. All that's left is to tell the second grade teacher we are leaving for a week, a dreaded task if you knew this teacher.

On a side note, the girls went to Disney's The Little Mermaid broadway show in Denver last weekend. They said it was fabulous. If anyone gets a chance they should see it. DW said there were some slight differences; new music and different ending.

Ah, glad to hear that all the small stuff like final payment and passports are taken care of! I don't envy you with the teacher situation.

I guess I'm really out of touch with what's on Broadway these days. The Little Mermaid is on stage? That would be lots of fun to see. Definite musical lovers here. If Mamma Mia is in town we're there! Wicked, oh yeah; we've seen it 4 times and one more show is coming up at the end of September.

Hoping everyone is having a good week!
Michael
