Hi Vicki,

We're with you. It will be us, our 4 kids, MIL and sister. Our kids will be DS-7 (almost 8), DD-5, DS-3, and DD-10mo. We are all looking forward to the trip. The kids can't stop talking about it, probably because I don't. Glad to hear someone else is on the same cruise.

Jason

Hi Jason - it is really nice to meet you. I am glad to hear that you will be on the same cruise too. It sounds like you will have a full house too.:) I forgot to mention that we are also taking along our niece who will be 8.

We can't wait to go on the cruise either. It will be here before we know it. When the weather is as cold as it has been here, going on a cruise sounds so enjoyable right now. Will this be your 1st cruise?

Vicki

This is the first cruise for any of us. DW is prone to motion sickness, so I hope this won't be our first and last cruise.:)

Warm weather sounds good to us too. What part of the cold, wintry country are you coming from?

I was really afraid that I would have trouble with motion sickness when we went on our 1st cruise and I bought the wristband things, but I ended up not needing them. Only a couple times when I would get tired at noght and if the ship was rocking I may feel a little nauceous. But otherwise it wasn't too bad. Although at our last cruise, the 1st night was a little rough and some of our tablemates had a hard time. After that the seas were pretty smooth. I know that the medical facility on board has medicine for motion sickness, so if your wife is having a hard time, maybe she could stop by there. Hopefully she won't have any problems.

We are from frigid Wisconsin. :) It has been really cold here with temps below zero. Thankgoodness Feb. is a short month. I see you are from Colorado. I know you have gotten a lot of snow. Has it been really cold out there too.

We were on a DCL cruise this last Nov. and the ship was pretty with Christmas trees. I imagine that it will be really pretty in the beginning of Dec.

Vicki

Vicki,
Thanks for pointing me over to this cruise meet! I was skimming through the postings today and must have just whizzed by this one.

This is #3 Disney cruise for us but we've cruised with other lines as well (Princess, Norweigan, HAL). We've only been on the Wonder as having enough vacation time is a bit rough for both Marc and me. We always seem to plan about 5 weeks of vacation each year but both of us only get 10 paid days of leave. Four days on the ship with a couple more at WDW keep us happy. It does help to live just a few minutes from D'land so we do get our share of the mouse on a regular basis!

A former yooper from the U.P. of Michigan who transplanted himself to Los Angeles almost 25 years ago and doesn't regret it in the least. Marc is from Indiana and moved here many more years before that!

Looking forward to chatting with the group!

Michael

M4, nice to have you on board. Wishing I was in LA right about now. Colorado has seen lots of snow this winter. The cold temps in Wisconsin passed through here first. Glad we could pass them along.

Hey Jason, thanks for passing the colds temps our way...BRRRR!!! That was so kind of you :)
Next week the temps are finally suppose to reach the 20's and that will seem like a heat wave to us. Michael, I had heard that San Diego had temps in the 80's the other day. Must be very nice. I am not sure how the LA area temps are, but I am sure it is a lot better than Colorado's and WI.

We were at Disney Land about 4 years ago and really enjoyed it. we hope to get back there again sometime in the near future. I just wish it wasn't such a long flight to LA.

Vicki

Earlier this week we were in the upper 70s, low 80s. We spent the weekend in Palm Springs and just basked in the sun. Sorry, gang, there's NO way I'm moving out of So. Cal!

We've been passholders at D'land for years. We grabbed on to DVC just about 18 months back and WISH we had done it sooner. We are now learning to love WDW as well as DCL!! We had signed up for the westbound cruise to L.A. in 2008, but with other stuff going on we've had to pass on the reservation. If DCL were to come out to CA permanently Marc and I will be in BIG trouble. Some might get tired of doing Mexico and/or Alaska but we would be quite content. :woohoo:

Michael

We would like it if Disney had a ship permanently in CA. We would love to take a cruise to Alaska or even to Hawaii. Plus ,it would be fun to combine a trip to Disneyland too. :)

We have lots of snow and wintry weather that we could send your way Marc and Michael. Maybe you could send some early spring weather our way: :yay:

Vicki

We are in Orlando from 25th Nov to 10th Dec and after booking the Repo cruise for next year(our first cruise), I now want to go on another!!! So, I have eyed this one up and just need the right time to approach my hubby John. I need to make it sound cheaper than staying in Orlando, which it would be if we were staying Deluxe, but those few days we are planning a cheapy outside Disney after staying at POFQ for 6/7 nights!!!

I'll keep my eye on this thread in the meantime!!:)

Welcome to the thread, Marilyn!

I am jealous of your repo cruise. Marc and I had a reservation all set for the westbound but 15 days just wasn't going to work into the schedule no matter how many times I tweaked it. VERY disappointed we had to give it up, but we're planning a family event (WDW/DCL) in Jan 2009 so I'll just save the money in a separate account for that!

Hoping you can convince John to join us!

If you PROMISE to NOT send the snow/winter weather I'll do my best to ensure that spring weather gets there soon!!!!

I hope I can convince him too!!! I imagine the ship will be all decked out for Christmas too!

Hi Marilyn,

Nice to meet you. I hope you are able to convince your husband to go on another cruise in DEc.:) We went last Nov. and there were Christmas trees up, etc. It was really pretty. We look forward to getting to know you.

Vicki

Hi Michael,

I'll try to keep all this cold wintry weather in the midwest, so that you can send us an early warm spring. :dance3: Even 50 -60 degree days would be nice right now.

Vicki

Hi Everyone,

I haven't heard from everyone in awhile and was wondering how you all were doing. The weather is finally starting to warm up here.:cool1: Bring on the spring weather!

Vicki

We're still around. Sorry we haven't posted anything lately, it's been pretty hectic here.

As a side note, my MIL bought all the kids their pirate costumes. They are pretty excited. DD5 is going to be a princess pirate. She'll dress up in whatever princess outfit is her favorite at the time. Cinderella with an eye patch and a sword should be a sight to see.princess: pirate:

Are you doing the cruise alone? Or spending any time at Disneyworld?

Quiet on this end as well. Work has been a bit hectic and I suppose I really should do the regular work here instead of skulking around the boards, but this is more fun!

Had some rain this week but the weekend is looking good! I've attached a couple of pics from our first time pirate outing in Jan '06. There were quite a few of us who connected via a cruise meet and we all linked reservations. We all had a hoot doing the pirate night.

Those are great pictures! I had read on another thread that not many of the adults dress up for the pirate night. Obviously not the case in your group. Where did you get the costumes?
