Dec. 2, 2007-4 night Wonder and MouseFest Cruise

We've been on 2 4-nighters and both times there were lots of folks dressed up. Yes, there are some that don't but I really thought the majority did.

Marc (in the brown waistcoat) ordered our costumes bit by bit from various places and put the ensemble together. We shipped them to the port as we didn't want the hassle of a steamer trunk!!!! Once we finished the cruise and went to the WDW we had them shipped back home via UPS.

The whole cruise-meet group really got into it. We had the photogs clicking away like crazy! Yeah, we probably went a bit overboard, but we definitely had fun! Fun is a GOOD thing!

Michael

Those are great pictures and I like the costumes. It's fun to see grown ups dressed up as well. On our last cruise (Nov.), I did see quite a few adults dress up. Our kids dressed up a little, but my husband and I didn't dress up too much. Maybe we will be able to find some pirate odds and ends that I can take with us before the Dec. cruise.

We are not going to be going to the parks this time. We went to AK and Epcot for the first time this Nov.

We just had a big snow storm here over the weekend. In fact, my daughter doesn't have school today, so she is excited! :)

Vicki

Temps have dropped out here as well. Absolutely beautiful day on Saturday (high 70s/low 80s - was able to bathe a dog and dry her outside!) but it had dropped almost 20 degrees on Sunday. Chilly, overcast, and promises of rain today.

Was chatting with my dad yesterday and it had reached 20; he had no sympathy for my 60 degree temp out here!!!!!

I know it's still 10 months away but we are getting excited about the trip. We were able to get plane tickets last weekend (we were bumped the last time - voluntary - so they gave us vouchers to use.) It turned out to be a free ticket with a few extra dollars left if we decide to fly somewhere else this year! That works for me!

Any wine tasters amongst the group so far? How about martini tastings?

Michael

Sorry, no sympathy from here either. We're just getting back into the 40's and 50's in time for another spell of 20's.

We too are excited about the cruise. Although we have to wait for fares to come down before we book. My daughter, who just turned 5, can't wait and asks us constantly when we are leaving.

Which excursions has anyone done? Any that we should not miss?

Jason

Can't help on the excursion end. I've found that I so thoroughly enjoy the relaxation of the ship that I really don't look for excursions. I have heard that the sting-ray encounter at Castaway Cay was kind of fun. I am going to try and get Marc to visit the pirate museum in Nassau and we MIGHT venture over to Atlantis, but that's a pretty suspect "might."

I can totally relate on the question of when are we leaving. I'm ready for it now!

Michael

We bought our plane tickets about a month ago. We always fly Midwest out of Milwaukee and their rates for Dec 2007 came out the day I bought them. Can't go wrong buying them early when the price is right. :)

We have done a couple of excursions in Nassau. On our 1st cruise 4 years ago, we went on the Atlantis Beach Day excursion and really enjoyed it. The aquarium is pretty nice and our daughter enjoyed playing at the beach building sand castles.. Though we didn't go swimming in the water, since the water was a little rough. We are actually thinking of doing the Discover Atlantis tour this time at the Atlantis so that our kids can see the aquarium. Our oldest was almost 4 at the time and doesn't really remember it. And I think our other kids will enjoy it too.

This last Nov. my husband (Marty) and daughter went on the Dolphin Encounter at Blue Lagoon and seemed to have a good time

We are not big wine or martini drinkers here, but Marty does like wine every now and then. Have you ever done the wine tasting seminar on the ship?

Vicki

I've done the wine tasting and it's really quite good. I believe we had 4 still wines and one sparkling. It's help in Palo and when we went there were only a handful of participants. I've done them on other ships and they, too, are very good. Marc wasn't feeling well for the last one so I'm gonna drag him along, too. I'm SURE it won't be kicking and screaming either!

Michael

What day on the 4 nite cruise is the wine tasting seminar? I will have to let Marty know about it. Does it cost anything to go?

Not sure of the day but I'll check my Navigators when I get home tonight. I think it was $15 for the tasting.

Michael

The wine tasting was on the sea day from 3:00 to 4:00 in Palo. The cost was $12, so not bad at all!

Michael

Michael,

Thanks for checking into the wine tasting times for us. I will let Marty know in case he is interested.

Just bringing us back to the front of the pack. Hoping everyone's doing well. Eight short months to go..............

Michael

Hi Michael,

We are all doing well here. 8 months will be here before we know it. We are all really looking forward to it.

Snow is really melting here, as we had upper 60 degree weather yesterday. Back into the 5o's and 40s the rest of the week.

How are things going in California?

Vicki

Weather out here has been unbelievable. We were in the upper 80s and low 90s at the end of last week and into the weekend. I was able to get the dogs bathed and dried them outside without the heated dryer. 3 dogs in 3 hours was probably the fastest grooming I've ever done in March!

We're off to San Diego for the weekend (we breed and show dogs, wheaten terriers) to breed one of the girls (is this too much info??) so it's going to be another busy weekend. I just keep telling myself that this is keeping us young, but I'm not sure the body is listening!

Michael

Hi guys. It's taken a long time, but we are finally going to pay the deposit tonight!
Me, Marilyn and hubby John. Both nearing 60, he doesn't mind but I'm in denial!

Welcome, Marilyn (and hubby John!). Glad you're going to be joining us! (We will NOT talk about age!!!!!)

Just signed up for our first Disney cruise! We'll be joining you all on the Wonder and can't wait!

Not sure if you all know this or not and I didn't see it mentioned on previous pages but, this is the Sea portion of MouseFest! It's gonna be hopping onboard!

I'll be there as a representative for MagicMeets Disney Fan Gatherings.

Here are the dates for Mousefest this year.
2007: 4 Night Wonder Cruise December 2-6;
December 6-10 Land Events;
December 8 MegaMouseMeet

Anyway....it will be myself, Fred Block, my wife Renee, and my two daughters Julia who will be 7 and Hailey who will be 3 when we cruise.

Fred

Hi there Fred!! This will be our first cruise too! I had noticed this was the Mousefest cruise and had asked questions of folk on last year's cruise to see what impact if any it had. Seems it made things great for everyone, not just on the Mousefest group, and we can join in some of their activities too.

Will be great meeting you and your lovely family.

Can the thread name/title be changed/edited? Perhaps to show that this is the MouseFest Cruise? Something like:

"Sunday December 2,2007 - 4 Night Wonder - MouseFest 2007 Cruise"

Might I also suggest that we also keep a list of all people attending and the size of their party on the first page of the thread somewhere? First post would be preferred.

Fred
