If I want to get cheap Virgin flights flying out on Boxing Day 2009 when is the best time to book and who with?

As I understand it unless you book with Virgin Holidays all scheduled flights do not book until about 330 days before the return date.

You might be able to book with VH earlier, i think an advance 2009 min brochure will be out mid March, but often thats to October and as mentioned limited, the full one will be out end April, if with VA direct end Jan 09

We have flown a few times in past few years either Xmas day or Boxing day.
Virgin flight only is usually around £450-£500, never managed to get miles and money. Xmas 08 (Xmas day-3rd Jan) decided to go for Flight/hotel with VH's £580 each for the 9 nights staying at Fairfield Inn LBV. at that price was not worth waiting for flight only.
Just looked now, going as we are Xmas day but coming back on the 31st £525 but 1st Jan and after they go upto £895 If they stay at that price we did exactly the right thing booking a package.

I think we would do the 26th Dec 09 to the 9th Jan 2010 (or 16th if we can afford it) and would hopefully stay a few nights at the Poly, a few nights at AKL and then somewhere cheaper for the remainder of the holiday so I need to work out the cheapest way to do this and when to book each element.

Online the Virgin prices came on in February 2007 for our July 2008 holiday, so they may come out before the brochure in March.
