Dec 08 Waitlist thread

I'm in shock. Our OKW studio waitlist came through today for Dec. 12-17. I am so happy. We had studio at SSR but we really don't like it there. Our trip is now complete. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

Nothing-I was looking for a stuido, but just told them anything with a AP rate for BW...they came back with BWV-1brm...but not AP rate applicable(forgot to mention that)...so I booked nothing. I have a YC AP rate, and a WL rack rate ressie that I can patch together with my DVC reservations...but as it stands now I am unpacking 4 times and I will loose 29 points.

Yesterday I had to cancel our reservation for a 2bdrm at VWL from 11/30 thru 12/4. I hope it made someone else very happy!

I'm sorry to hear that you had to cancel your reservation.

I got my BCV studio 12/1 yesterday (I think)...

I went to check online, and I have problem with my account where I can't see my pending vacations...... (I have email into DVC)....

BUt I did confirm that I got 12/1 BCV studio. - I have been on WL since 10 months, I believe.

Well, I called MS this morning and they had 1 BR BWV available for 2 of my waitlist dates! (12/4 &5) So I had them book it for me and cancel 2 of my SSR nights. I did have to get a little creative because I was 10 points short in my balance to allow her to book the 2 nights without cancelling SSR first. So I borrowed 10 points from the '09 UY.

Now that put me in a Pool view on 12/3 and then move to a Boardwalk view for 12/4 & 5. I then had her check and there was a Boardwalk view available for 12/3. So she converted my pool view into a Boardwalk view. This will allow me to stay in the same room for all 3 nights. We then updated my waitlists and extended them to 7 days prior. So my current plan is:

12/3-6 BWV, 1 BR, Boardwalk view
12/6-9 SSR, 1 BR
12/9-14 BCV, 1 BR

I still have to move resorts twice instead of once, but, 3 nights at BWV will give me time to check out the resort plus save me from moving on my Candlelight processional day.

Congrats Donald! So glad to see that you got some of your WL. You will love Boardwalk view! Even though we cancelled our trip and waitlist for Dec/Jan, I have been watching this thread and cheering for all of you. I know how obsessive I am about where we stay/eat/what park that this would be driving me CRAZY!!

So, we have an SSR studio booked for Dec. 7th-13th booked at our 11 month mark. We have been wait listed for the entire trip since our 7month mark for a studio at AK or VWL. Does anyone think there is a chance of either coming thru at this point? We are part of the share a tree thing at SSR and are actually donating the tree and I am trying to figure out if I should cancel the waitlist because I am not sure the tree would be released to us if either of our waitlists comes thru and we are not actually staying at SSR. We thought it would be nice to stay at either of the lodges during the christmas season just once.

I think it would be OK to pick up the tree at SSR. Your name will be on the list of people, and perhaps you'll have to show an ID, but you should get it! I would stay on the waitlist.

I just got off the phone with MS checking my wait list status - nothing yet but I've only been on the list for 2 weeks now - I'm on a wait list for any studio anywhere for Dec 13 to 16 - last minute surprise trip and I know it's a hard time to get into a DVC resort in December so not getting my hopes up that we will actually get anything . We do have POR booked regardless!!

I have pretty much given up hope on my waitlist coming through despite being on it since 11 months out for 12/28, 29, 30th in BW view studio. I currently have preferred view for those dates and BW view for 12/31-1/3. I really wanted the whole week in 1 room for a change.

Does anyone think it could still come through this late? Also, how long is the waitlist good for and when would I need to call to have them extend it?

You never know, it might come through. The time on the waitlist depends on whether you specified 31 days or 7 days when you went on the W-L--sometimes they don't ask you so you might want to give MS a call just to see.

You really have nothing to lose if you continued to call each day at 7 days or less (after the W-L drops).

Oh, only for that day? We'll be at BWV for the 14th and 15th...then we move on to BCV for family's part of the visit.

Just booked full cash price for Dec 7th, at least then it bridges the gap between the two confirmed reservations and if the waitlist does come through before November 30th then the cash reservation will be cancelled.

We will be there Dec 12-18 staying at POP 12-16 if my waitlist doesn't come thru having been waiting since May for 2 days, 2bdrm at VWL

Due to in-laws going back on their word, I just cancelled 1 studio for 11/30-12/3 and 1 studio for 11/30-12/2 both at AKV. Hopefully this will be good for someone's waitlist.
