Are you going to wait until the 7 month mark or will you be waitlisting soon (so that I can put you on the correct list)?

We have to wait until the 7 month mark to waitlist....but we're hopeful! Either way it'll be fantastic!

How do people know they are waitlisting at 7 months? It appears some of the rooms people are saying they will waitlist don't have a waitlist yet If a room is available then it won't be a waitlist right?

They plan on calling at their nonhome resort at 7 months and waitlisting.

Right. If I can call at 7 months and get a studio at VWL then I won't have to waitlist. With Dec. being so busy and VWL being so small and beautiful during the holiday season I assume I will have to waitlist. But I do have a ressie at SSR just in case.

Just to update everyone, I am waitlisting for my home resort but I am also toying with switching 1/2 of the trip to either BCV or BWV at 7 months. So most likely I will also be joining the list in another spot come May.

I checked online and it appears we cleared the waitlist for part of our trip. We now have a SV studio for 12/2 thru 12/4, which they had us in a Value at first. So now we have the following:

SV studio from 11/27-12/4 (it's split into two reservations now 11/27-12/2 and 12/2-12/4

Value studio for 12/4 (cash reservation)- waitlisting for a SV studio

SV studio for 12/5-12/7

Nothing for 12/7- waitlisting for SV studio

Our plans are to see what is available at the 7 month mark at the other resorts as we really do not want to change rooms, that's sort of the point of the whole "welcome home" and home away from home feeling. You know, unpack once and that's it. This will be our first DVC trip so any of the resorts will be new to us.

Question....will we be at a disadvantage by having to wait until May 8 to book the trip as people will be getting rooms that open up for the 10 days prior and we have to wait until 7 months from our check out date??

Well, I just added another waitlist. I am going to convert my reservation from a studio to a 1 BR at AKV. So I added a waitlist for the last 1/2 of my trip (12/9-14). Actually the last 2 nights were available but I have way too many reservations and waitlists for the 10 nights and I wanted to simplify. So I waitlisted for the entire 5 days in a group. Then when I figure out how I want to simplify the first 5 days, I will change that waitlist also.

Well guys...I will miss you but you can remove me from the waitlist thread. I spent about 45 minutes on the phone with MS and booked a one bedroom instead of the studio at BCV and paid cash for the nights I could not get (2 nights) and I did not have enough points for them anyway. Dec 30 and 31st were the only two night that were not available between Dec 23-Jan 1st in case anyone is wondering about switching over at 7 months.

I feel much better now! I just felt our family would enjoy a one bedroom much more during the holidays (and celebrating our 10 year Anniversary)! I also wanted to quit worrying about the waitlist!

We will waitlist for a studio 12-4 through 12-5 at VWL at 7 months (unless by some miracle there is actually a studio available then...).

You can remove me from the wait list (BWV 12/2-5 dcfromva, SV studio). We just decided to treat ourselves and keep our BWV 1BR SV ressie and take our name off the wait list.

If I were you, I would want to be in Downtown Disney for those off-site days. You will still be able to access the EMH from one of the hotels there. If you aren't planning any park time during those days, then this wouldn't matter. I doubt that there would be AP rates for the 26,27th. That time of year is tough. We are hoping for a good rate on the 27th, our first day before we check in to VWL for the week.
