Dec 08 Waitlist thread

We are on wait list for BWV 2BR for 12/28-1/2. Have been since first week of March. At 7 month window I am going to check to see what is available elsewhere though. 7 month window is in 2 weeks.... I see others waiting for AKV, I was hoping for there in a savanna view 2 BR if cant get BWV. I will post update in 2 weeks.

Thank you! I can't wait! Yes, I did end up with some time to DIS tonight since my friend that is coming over will be a few hours late.

Bobbi, we are staying at AKV in a conceirge studio.

I still have an AKV reservation (savanna view studio) for 12/9-12/14. I won't call on that reservation until 5/14. So im summary, my reservations currently are:
12/3 BWV 1 BR pool/garden view
12/4-9 SSR 1 BR
12/9-14 AKV savanna view studio

My current waitlists are:
12/4-9 BCV 1BR, BWV preferred view 1 BR
12/9-14 AKV savanna view 1 BR

So I called this morning for the second half of my trip. The only 1 BRs available 12/9-14 were OKW and SSR. However, as I was talking to the CM, the night of 12/10 filled up at SSR. So, I moved my AKV studio over to OKW 1 BR.

So, my current reservations are now:

12/3 BWV 1 BR pool/garden view
12/4-9 SSR 1 BR
12/9-14 OKW 1 BR

My current waitlists are:
12/4-9 BCV 1BR, BWV preferred view 1 BR
12/9-14 AKV savanna view 1 BR, BCV 1 BR, BWV 1 BR

I am waitlisted for 12/7 - 12/11 OKW Studio

The CM suggested that I still call back to try and see if there is any availability for the waitlist days. So I will do that.

I'm confused on WL policy / loopholes - and desperate.

So..I keep changing our reservations/waitlist.

I currently have AKV VV for Nov 30 - Dec 6 since my husband doesn't want to change resorts because our parents are coming with us, I called SSR to try and book our whole trip there. We were booked in there Dec 6 waitlisted for 7 & 8 and then reservations from the 9th to the 12th. We now are waitlisted at SSR for Dec 3,4,7 and 8th, with the rest of our nights booked in a2BR. Because we have the points I kept the original at AKV but will cancel it if SSR comes thru. I also kept our waitlist for AKV Savannah view for our whole trip. We are new members... bear with us!

At 7 months we switched our SSR 2 BR to OKW 2 BR 11/30-12/7
Currently, we are waitlisted for a studio at BCV, BWV or VWL 12/7-12/11

One reason to call back for availability woudl be if you are on the WL for multiple days but would be happy with individual days at either end of your WL.

For example, one poster has OKW for 4 nights, then SSR for 3 nights and then OKW for another 3 nights. If that person was on the WL for 3 nights at OKW, they would probably still be happy if they got either the 1st night or the last last at OKW, because it adds a night to an exisitng stay at OKW. So calling for availability of a single night might yield results.

Calling will probably not yield results if you need just what you waitlisted for and nothing else will help.

Currently have studio at SSR from 11/30 - 12/7. On waitlist for VWL and BWV, I hope one comes through.

Probably some part both of those. Plus, lower points for that time of year. Everything is decorated for Xmas. And I'm sure there are a few more reasons.

Lower points and decorations has been one of the biggest draws, but even with that I've been able to book this time frame much later. Just seems busier than usual to me.

Okay, so made some changes, this is the most current update:

AKV Waitlist: 12/07 - 12/10
VWL Waitlist: 12/06 - 12/11

SSR Booked: 12/06 - 12/11

Hopefully one of the waitlists comes through.

Had a reservation at SSR (our home resort) for a studio from 12/11-15, and made this just a few weeks ago.

Called back this week, and got AKV SV studio for the nights of 12/11 and 12/12, and waitlisted for the nights of the 13th and 14th.

I did cancel my SSR reservation, as I didn't want to borrow any points from '09 to keep that reservation, and waitlist. As it is, we actually have a regular reservation at AKL CL for the 11th-14th - we weren't expecting to have any more points for our '08 UY, as we had promised them to a family member, who now can't use them this year.

We'll see what happens - this is my first time to ever waitlist! We love SSR and have always been happy there, but I thought AKV would be great to try, since we were planning on being at AKL anyways.

Does it just show up under Vacation Details on your account? Our current ressie os for SSR and we are waitlisted for BCV and BWV for 12/7-12/12. Will our details just change from SSR to whatever resort comes thru or is there somewhere else I should be looking?

When did each of you go on the waitlist?

I waitlisted for the nights of 12/13 and 12/14 at AKV on May 17. My waitlist came through the next day (yesterday, May 18). I certainly was expecting to wait a while!

That's correct. Under the "Vacation Details" it will show your current reservations - and if the waitlist comes through, you'll see the new reservation there with the details. You can also look at your point activity to see things being cancelled and moved around.
