Debate: Who should Kerry pick as his running mate?

I would like to see Hillary run. I also like McCain too bad that he isn't interested.

He can't keep asking McCain --- he'd set himself up for rejection and humiliation. Kerry is too smart to let that happen.

He should pick himself as a VP candidate. Since he's been on both sides of every issue, he'd have all constituencies covered.

pssst...it's gonna be 4 more years, folks!:D

I DON"T THINK SO!!:D or rather I should say... I sincerely hope not.....

Psst -- the most recent polls show Kerry ahead -- and ahead in key electoral states.

Actually, it depends on which recent poll you look at. If you look at the LA Times poll, it shows that Senator Kerry has a 51 - 44 lead...of course, included in those numbers are people that simply say they are "leaning" towards one candidate or another. OTOH, the AP poll shows President Bush with a 46 - 45 lead, not including the leaners.

Psst--Summer polls show Massachusetts liberal democrat up as much as 17 points over Bush.

Oh sorry. That was George H.W. Bush and Michael Dukakis in 1988.

George H.W. Bush won by the way. 40 states to 11 I believe.

Just goes to prove the only good poll is one with fishing line and a worm on the end of it.

Just one man's opinion.

1. I already used the "pssst...." line. It loses its effectiveness when used in an unoriginal manner.

2. You omitted an "s" in the "pssst"

3. Dean was well ahead in many polls, too.

4. After 4 more years of GWB, it will be 8 years of Condaleeza Rice!

John Edwards would be my pick to win. Wesley Clark is
my emotional pick. Hillary Clinton would do the best job but
would make the ticket unelectable. is that a word?
Whomever, let's just get them in office and end this insanity.

You're right, it's not like there was someone he could pick that would make me not vote for him.

At this point in the race, you're right.

Anyone who claims they know who's going to win is just blowing smoke. I'm encouraged by how well Kerry is doing, but right now it really does mean nothing.

Al Sharpton.

Hmmmm...I wonder if Bush tossed Cheney aside for Sharpton if you'd vote Democrat???;) Somehow I doubt it.

There's about as much chance for Kerry to pick Sharpton as there is for Bush to.

But, no, given the alternative I'd still vote for Kerry. I'd rather have a Vice President that scares the hell out of me rather than a President AND a VP that does. The only option worse than Bush as President is the thought of Cheney running this country. That thought makes Sharpton look like a smart choice!

Before you start giving even more ridiculous impossibilities though, my statement was made with the assumption that Kerry wants to win the election and will at least pick someone who won't guarantee a loss.

Let's see how scared you are if a Dem takes office, pulls out of Iraq, & starts bringing the troops back home, & with them, the terrorists.

Ah yes, the tried and true method of the Bush camp....Scare tactics. They have no record to run on so the only thing they can do is try and make people afraid not to vote for them.

As of yet, I don't see what Bush has done to reduce the terrorist threat.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/06/13/powell.report/index.html

Released in April, the State Department's annual report on global terrorism incorrectly declared that terrorist attacks declined in 2003. But figures from a corrected report "will be up sharply,"

After the report's release, top Bush administration officials pointed to it as a sign that the war on terrorism was succeeding.

"All sorts of alarm bells should have gone off" when the data were being compiled, Powell said, but he denied that the figures were skewed for political purposes.

Just how many times should they be given a pass for basing judgements and decisions on "inaccurate" information???

Another interesting tidbit that should give anyone who thinks Bush is our great protector food for thought:

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/06/13/bush.criticism/index.html

Several former presidential diplomatic and military officials have signed a statement condemning the Bush administration's foreign policy, saying that it has harmed national security, one of the document's signers said Sunday.

So much for the idea that if we'll just give Bush another term we'll all be safe.

Wake Up! Terrorism and Iraq are two different things. Iraq was about WMD although now it's about Iraqi freedom . (oh and 800+ dead Americans)

You simply don't get it, and that's ok...but it doesn't make you right.

You simply don't get it

Yeah MMouse! Don't you understand that the truth will only confuse you?

Just believe and don't question and we'll all be just fine......
