The secret to the DB is not to take things personally (and I am mostly successful) at that. I love the DB. If nothing else people on the DB let you know exactly where you stand.

This should be a scrolling message as you enter the DB. We don't sugar coat. We don't run and hide if you don't agree with us. IMHO, I think the DB is more a reflection of RL then any of the boards.

LOL, the Recycle Bin is where the moderators put all deleted posts/threads, just like deleted files on your PC going to the Recycle Bin on your PC. That way, if there is ever a dispute, the post/thread is still there. A webmaster can completely delete, leaving no record for discussion.

Excellent description!

The DB is not for the fainthearted. When we discuss cats over there, it is usually in the context of looking for a new recipe, and prayer requests normally involve "I'm praying that you'll pull your head out of your *** and see that I'm right!"

I don't go to the DB very much anymore. I do read the threads from time to time. I'm not much for the "in your face" type of confrontation/disagreement and insults. One of the last threads I participated in over there included those elements and it was a turn-off.

I'm fine with disagreement that is done respectfully.

I like the overall tone on the CB much better.

Thanks for the welcome Dan.

I also agree with those who feel the debate board should not be taken to seriously. I see things there that make my hair stand on end but still respect a persons right to say them. I disagree with a lot of things said and do not fundamentally agree with several posters but I feel I can comment if I make sound and reasonable arguments and don't flame any body.

I try very hard to use logic and my own opinions and have yet to enter the "my links better than your link" war with anybody because I feel that so many of the topics are close to the heart that points are better made by expressing your own views and why you feel that way.

Have fun with the boards and enjoy them thats why there here. Tomorrow you wake up and head off to the real world where things are not always so easy or so fun.
