How terrible! My prayers go out to the family......

Perhaps the question we should be asking is why are people not dying on Universal's thrill rides -- while they (albeit, a tiny number) are on Disney's?
SpectroMagic*o* said:Whats most sad about these situations is that most parents/children dont even know there's a health problem until something this devastating happens, particularly because it's hard to pick up on a routine check-up with your doctor, or your pediatrician in this case. The hardest part is that constant guilt feeling of if only I had known then this could've been prevented. I feel like this has been happening alot latley with undiagnosed health problems...even too close to home, as this just has happened to a girl who went to the highschool in the district that I work in, just playing in a soccer game one day. Clearly, more advanced testing needs to be standard during routine check ups and maybe pediatric equipment should be more advanced.

I'm curious if this is just my reaction: When I first heard of this tragedy, I instantly found myself thinking, "well, no way will I let my daughter on that thing when we're there in September". That was my first reaction, anyway. I then try to be logical about the situation. In all probability, the poor child had unrecognized health issues and his death was in no way the fault of Disney or the ride operator and could not have been foreseen. Even still, I find myself a little leery now. Am I the only one?

One month ago, another child died on the Disney ride "Mission Space" at the Epcot Center.
I assume they are refering to the ADULT incident. It would be nice if they got basic facts straight when going for the sensationalistic![]()
Prayers for the family.. . .
I feel so bad for the family, must be very hard for them. I can't imagine going on vacation, of course everyone being very happy and having a great time, then suddenly losing a child that way
