I understand that Daber (Dave A.) is on his way down to DisneyWorld and will be attending your seminar while down there.

Dave was the first person that my son (age 10 at the time) and I met when we decided to go over to the Contemporary during our WDW trip and "check this pin thing out". We had bought lanyards and were just started to understand pin trading. We had no books or any other fancy stuff.

Dave was so kind...he looked carefully at my son's (also named David) lanyard and admired his pins. Then, he gave my son some pins to trade with "out on the floor" (this was before Disney was sponsoring the meets). During that time, I also saw him give a complete lanyard full of pins to someone who had recently had a bad experience.

During the year and a half or so that I have now known Dave, his kindness continues to impress me. Even though he has a wonderful collection that probably trades for the highest end pins, he never hesitates to look at any trader's book. Every time he has seen my children he always has pins for them. Most importantly, I have never seen him discuss the good things he does for other people on the boards...he does it quietly, just because he wants to.

So, I hereby nominate Dave for a Scoop pin. I don't know if you will see this, but I know there are some folks on the board that see you often and perhaps one of them can print this out and give it to you.

Thanks,

Sharon (in Connecticut)

I second the motion. Although I've never met Daber (Dave A.) it seems quite clear that he is deserving of a "Scoop Pin" or at the very least a "Continuing The Tradition Pin"

Sharon, i third your request!!! Had a chance to walk around Epcot with Dave a few years back - he is a wonderful person and has a great heart. Really embodies the pin tradition. Caroline

I can't imagine anyone saying anything bad about David/Daber. Lauri and I have met him several times before and he's a great guy.

If another vote for Dave/Daber is needed.....Here it is!

Dave's terrific with the kids, and is a blessing to new traders.

At last year's Epcot Event I believe he was proxy trader for JudithM. You should have seen him chase after her pins!

Scoop....if you're listening.....keep Dave in mind. He's one of the best examples of what's special about pintrading.

:D

If Dave somehow does not receive a Scoop pin I would gladly give him mine. He is much more deserving than I am and would happily give his last pin to someone looking for it. Dave's generosity and caring for others is an example that I always try to pattern my life around. His pin knowledge and love for other traders is second to none. Thanks Dave for all that you do, you are definitely a Limited Edition.

Jeff

I fully agree and hope a Scoop pin will find it`s way to a well deserved person, i met Dave in person this year at Beaches & Cream and we did some terrific trading .
He did surprise me with his knowledge and good ideas too..

He has his pinbook sorted after pinpics numbers so when he gets back home he can easily find the pins traded and aquired.. brilliant idea from a generous person !!!

I wish there would be more traders like him and really look forward to see him again in september ....

Happy trading and may a dream come true !!

Stephan

Jeff,

When I think back to all of the effort you put into the September event...all of those stories, and the passports and the pins, and the prizes. That was a huge feat and you did it just so we all could have a lot of fun.

So don't be giving yours away now!!

I also agree. Daber is one of the finest people I have ever met. He is very deserving of a Scoop Pin. Please take care of him.

Just got back from a week in Orlando. Chip and Dale called me and told me about this thread, and this means more than a Scoop pin and a CTT pin. I've always said it's not the metal things, it's the friendships that we have resulting from the trading that is what makes this hobby special.
As for getting the coveted Scoop pin, Carol was having a bad week with her spinal stenosis and with two 18 year old girls who haven't been to WDW in 6 years, we never got to the Scoop pin talk, and never saw Scoop. Nor did we get to the Contemporary pin meet on Friday night with the release of villian pins.

But we did ride Mission:Space!
