Dear Santa, I'd like a Disney Trip for Christmas! - TR started!

My two standard recommendations:

1 - pop-up hamper - packs easily, takes up little suitcase space, invaluable in the closet in your room.

2 - over-door-shoe-holder with clear pouches - to store/display your toiletries where you can easily see and access them, but they are not taking up counter space. Also takes up very little packing space.

I did a ship-ahead box for our 2008 trip. Included some snacks, travel-size toiletries, soft TP (because I could ), the two items above, etc. Most of it was "consumable" stuff that would be used by the end of the trip and wouldn't have to be re-packed. You still have time to do this if you want.

Lots of things that I'm sure you could totally do without. I did add in some comments in red above. If you're unsure about if you should/should not pack something, just ask! We'll give it to you straight, and once you hear our stories, you can decide if it would be best to pack it or toss it. Gotta make sure you leave room in your luggage for your souveniours!!!

I have a Twitter account, and I've checked it ... twice. Are you going to be doing any other live updates, like Facebook or anything? (I do my updates on FB, but I don't use Twitter.)

Yeah, there is alot on that list I need to delete yet. I actually think I'm going to start packing the middle of next week...

And I'm not going to update anything on facebook really. I have alot of Disney haters as FB friends. How sad is that? I dont use twitter either...but I've been trying to think of how to keep everyone updated easily on the DIS...so I thought MAAAYBE twitter.

Mickey's Christmas Carol is on ABC family right now...on the 25 days of Christmas! I LOOOVE the 25 days of Christmas on ABCFam! And Winnie the Pooh and Christmas too is on NEXT! So I'll be watching those and....well....probably DISing. I cant pull myself away lately.

Did you get your Mickey Mail yet? My agent called me this afternoon and said she has it in her office! She is sending overnight tomorrow so I should have it on Monday (due to weekend)!! It's getting so close!! My ds10 still has no idea we are going! I found a T-shirt at Disneystore.com that says "I'm going to Walt Disney World Resort!" When I pick him up from school the day we leave I am going to tell him he has an early Christmas present that he can open, and see how long it takes him to catch on that we are headed straight to the airport and then WDW!!!

From what I understand, you just need to label the package very well. Have it include the name on the reservation, reservation number, and arrival date. It makes it less confusing for the front desk if they have all that information handy, and can store your package securely until you arrive. Then they're not standing there going "We don't have a guest by X name. When will she be here? Is she already here?"

When you arrive, be sure to ASK for your package. I don't think there's a "memo" spot in the system that will flag your check-in as having a box attached to it. So when you check-in, also say that you shipped some items ahead and ask if your packages has arrived.

I'm sorry that you have WDW haters. I have some who aren't fans (but truly, I think they're just jealous). They'll have to get over my live updates when I go. If they don't like it, they can ignore it or unfriend me. Simple as that.

I'm a tracking fool, too! If you don't receive your MM, don't stress. Everything can be handled without the vouchers, but it is easier on the CMs if you do have them. Can you imagine all the people who run off and leave their MM sitting on the counter? So they can check you in just fine without it. I do recommend having reservation numbers handy, just in the event that the MM isn't received (or sits on the counter while you're on your trip) to speed things along.

However, I'd probably call and ask if it has been sent out, when it was sent out, and when you should expect to receive your MM. I love coupons, even if I'm not going to use them. Hey, I like to feel good, okay?

Also, I use a travel envelope that came from our travel agent when we went on our honeymoon 15 years ago... this weekend, I picked one up from the Vera Bradley outlet for $14. It makes it easy to have the airline tickets, license, luggage stuff and magical express all in one place.

Also, we had both my UPS package (which I tracked, because I, also, am a tracking fool!) and a delivery from Garden Grocer waiting for us when we arrived. When we checked in, they DID have a note on our record about the packages. We did not get them at the counter. Someone delivered them to our room within about 30 minutes of our arrival, while we were unpacking and getting settled (maybe? Maybe we weren't unpacking because we would have been waiting for our luggage from ME).

Anyway, it was a piece of cake! And so nice to have there. I dumped all that stuff in one of the dresser drawers (it also had our ponchos, first aid kit with tylenol and band-aids, etc.). Then we all knew where it was.

Well I've been looking for a light weight jacket that I can take to Florida. I wanted something light enough for warmer days but also something heavy enough to keep me warm and ALSO I wanted it to be roomy enough to layer a sweatshirt or something along those lines underneath.

So I was searching the internet and I really had my eye on a new North Face Denali jacket but I didnt want its $160.00 price tag. While searching North Face, Dicks, and other sporting goods websites I decided to check my email and found an email from my beloved Old Navy saying they had 30% off today.

I then was poking around on their site and ended up in their performance fleece and found a couple jackets resembling the Denali coat I so would love to have.

On sale for $35 I believe, then with 30% off and $7 shipping....waaaa laaaaaa....I paid like $31 something for a replica of what I was originally looking for.

I should also be receiving my creative memories order sometime soon! Any other scrapbookers out there?

So there was a quick update. 12 days!

Cute purchase...advice- pack some hoodies in order to layer. Our forecast looks fantastic with weather 70 (day) 50 (night). When we were there last Jan. I had a fleece from Lands End, and I was so cold in the mornings and late at night (think 3 am EMH at MK!) I have a pj hoodie from Old Navy that I had to start wearing during the night under my fleece to stay warm.
