Ummm... When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feelin' sad....I simply remember my favorite things, and then I don't feel....so.....bad. It's not a favorite thing....
I've always wondered why it's on the Christmas repertoire as well...
my bad, I googled the lyrics. I thought I heard that the dog biting was one of her favorite things, but I listen to it with 1/2 my ears, kinda like how I listen to my XH.
And anytime anyone is my family passed away, the funeral home always said "no shoes" so I don't know why he felt the need to buy her shoes.
The Christmas season has a high rate of suicide, and that song probably sends people off the edge. Or at least sends alot of ear-gougers to the ER.
There is no punishment foul enough for that songwriter. Now I have to say that I love "My Favorite Things." It is one of my favorite songs ever but it is NOT a Christmas song and the only versions I like are John Coltrane playing it on the sax and Julie Andrews singing in "The Sound of Music".
