Deal or No Deal

I've never heard of it. what is it and when and where does it come on? tia.

If she had stopped at $138,000, after 30% taxes, she would have had about $100,000 free & clear.

Man, as soon as her DH said they had a meeting & ALL decided on #8, I looked at them all & thought they were a bunch of "losers." :earboy2:

She knew better than to listen to them. That's the kicker. If I were in that position to make the choices, I wouldn't have given up control like that. Her DH wasn't the one having to make the decisions. I knew by looking at him he was going to tell her to "go all the way" even if they lost all of it.

I wish she would keep all the winnings to herself as her family cost her over $100,000. But she doesn't look the type to be such a meanie. I bet she spends most of it on them.:p

Interesting concept. I watched it and enjoyed it. Wonder if it will come back after this week?

I really enjoyed this! I would be awful at it, though because I'm so bad at making decisions, especially ones involving money :rotfl:

I went to the website and played the online version but I don't get it. The total of money in each round does not add up to the total they "give" you at the end of the round so what is up with the dollar amounts that change color at the sides of the screen. I am so confused!!

How HARD is it to accept $138,000 USD if you have NEVER owned a home in your life and you have been married for 23 years? The husband (and family) showed that he is a 1st rate LOSER by "tempting" his wife to GO GO GO!!!

I hope they do well with the 25K after taxes.

Adam

It would be hard to turn down, but $100k doesn't go far in California. I would have gone to the next level too. I wish she would have followed her gut and picked #5. Next! I love this show.

I like the show too but couldn't they have some nice looking guys holding just a few of the suitcases? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

This reminded me of that 70's game show where they had all of those boxes wrapped up like presents. You could take what was in the box, or behind a curtain. Kind of like "Let's Make a Deal". I can't remember what it was called.

I was thinking the same exact thing!!! What was that show called????? Anyone???

It was intersting and mildly entartaining, but I think it will have a hard time keeping folks into it much past this week. Not the play along type game that Millionaire is.

BTW - That woman and her family were so annoying, I had to change the channel about 3 times.

Could it be this one:

The New Treasure Hunt
Classic update from the 50's version. 3 players from the studio audience recieved gift boxes. Two were empty and one contained a surprise. The contestant with the surprise continued on to choose from 30 boxes, ranging from worthless items to expensive items. Or they could take a cash substitute. Syndicated fun from Chuck Barris productions. Ran from '73-82; hosted by Geoff Edwards and announced by Johnny Jacobs.

Yup!!!! That's it!!!

Wasn't the old game show called "let's make a deal?" You mean the one where they wear costumes, right? I loved at the end of each show when he would choose random items and if someone had it in their pocket or purse they would get money :rotfl: I always said they should have a modern day version of that show. It's so fun to watch :rotfl:

That's not how it works. The money that they offer them at the end of each round is simply a calculation based on the probability of the contestant bringing home a certain amount. If you look at the last round as an example it's easier to understand. She could have won either $50k or some small amount (I can't remember exactly) so the "banker" offers her $25k figuring that there's a 50/50 chance that she's going to win.

I too was screaming at the tv last night. I couldn't believe she gave up $138,000. It will be hard to top her for drama.

Is it on tonight?
