Deadliest Catch is back!! Official Thread Season 5 There might be spoilers

I remember hearing about this back when it happen. It is so sad. Those poor men.

I just returned from a trip to WDW. We stopped in Norway and asked if Sig and Edgar will be back anytime soon. The CM in the gift shop said they will be back at Epcot at the beginning of July!

I was surprised at last night's show that they dedicated a half hour to the crew of the fishing boat that went down. And while I feel bad for these men and the families, that is not why I watch Deadliest Catch.

I agree!

I was actually glad they spent that time on the crew. It made it more poignant I guess.

I agree. This could of easily been one of the featured ships on the show. Its showing everyone what can and does happen with that type of job.

I understand what you are saying but, Discovery has plenty of shows that touch on this type of thing. I just felt that spending half of the show was a little much.

Thanks for asking while you were there!!! I'm sure many will benefit from and appreciate that information if it works out that way! :goodvibes

I haven't caught the new shows - DH has been watching them but I've seen the commercials and become a "fan" on facebook....I need to catch up on the shows. :goodvibes

Those poor guys. How sad for their families.

Sig was funny about Edgar. Will have a brotherly dinner. LOL.

I'm glad they did it. Sure, they're not "our guys" but this showed what "our guys" face (and overcome the fear of) every day. They've grown up watching people go out and not come back. This isn't some vague danger like everybody knowing somebody who died from cancer, or in a car accident -- it's knowing that at any moment one of those waves can sink you, and that even the survival suits and the life rafts aren't always enough to keep you alive if you have to wait 15 hrs for rescue. That carelessless can kill you, that lack of boat maintenance can kill you. At most of our jobs, if we don't have the right toner in stock, work can grind to a halt. If these guys don't have the right backup equipment on board, they can die.

They interview the DC captains when these things happen and they speak briefly and you can tell they don't want to and they're upset and haunted by what's going on... because they have heard these first person accounts all their lives. We haven't. So letting us hear these men's first person accounts and react to them gives us a feel for what the captains already knew/feared was happening in real time.

I'm a huge Bon Jovi fan too! I was hoping you weren't referring to them as sad. :lmao: :rotfl:

Wow what happened to Jason on the Northwestern? He used to be a sweet kid, now he has an attitude.

It was cool to see the walrus pack in the wild.

I absolutely LOVE DC...but last night, wow, so much arguing and fighting among allot of them. :sad2: And sloppiness from allot of the crews. :headache:

The walrus pack was awesome! :goodvibes

I was really disappointed in Sig not helping out Captain Keith. Don't get me wrong, I think Keith is an idiot most of the time and I don't particularly care for him, but I really think Sig sits a little too high in his Captain's chair some days, KWIM? I think my favorite Captain, after Phil, is Jonathan.
