Dead Disney Trip

I am so grateful your family and your MH are in one piece and safe. My prayers are with your family that you make it back home and safe as well. I certainly wish you the best of luck and hope you can get back on the vacation path soon.

Hope all goes well from here..It sounds like there was a little angel :littleangel: riding on someone's shoulder making sure nobody was injured. Be safe

I am so sorry to hear about your trip mishap, especially when Disney is something you PLAN for. I am glad no one was hurt. I think we all fear something like this will happen no matter how many times you check for safety before you leave home. Unfortunately we never know how good our warranties are or insurance is until something happens on the road. Hopefully this will all be resolved and you can plan another trip...SORRY your vacation ended like this, but hopefully you can make some new Disney memories in the future.

I'm so glad that nobody was hurt. As sad as it is to miss a vacation, there's always next year, and the motorhome can be repaired (expensive as it usually is), but people can't be replaced. I hope your trip home goes more smoothly.

I'm so very sorry, I do know exactly how you feel...our Oct Disney trip was a nightmare but like yours- could have been much worse. Our van died 100 miles outside of Orlando on a Friday afternoon. We spent 6 hours in 110 heat index weather waiting to see if someone could fix it- they couldn't until Monday.

We were VERY lucky that for the first time ever, a friend was following us in her van AND that one of the garage workers felt so bad for us that he towed our popup the rest of the 100 miles for $150. We drove back the following Wed to get our van- then back down to Orlando. We spend about $1800 to fix the van so we could get home!

Make sure you let Disney know what happened, they do tend to sprinkle magic where they can--they certainly sprinkled a BUNCH for us :flower3:

I know it isn't the same but maybe you could have a little consolation side trip? Atlanta has a few nice things to visit- Six Flags isn't awful and our girls love the World of Coke

I'm sorry, hopefully the repairs will be very quick and much less than you expected- don't forget to call Disney and I hope something can be worked out so you can still have your trip. Good luck and many prayers coming your way!

That is such a bummer! I'm so glad that nobody was hurt though. Things definitely could have turned out much worse than they did. Let us know when you are back home and safe.

I so wish I had been checking the boards over the weekend! We were in Atlanta all weekend, actually just got back!

Hugs to you, and I hope ya'll are all safe. I would definitely call Disney, so sorry for the loss of the vacation.........

Glad everyone is safe!

Glad to hear you are home safe and sound, get some much needed rest.

Very sorry for your unfortunate incident. I can't imagine having to deal with that type of situation. I'm very happy you and yours are safe and finally at home.

So glad no one was hurt, when that possibility was so great!

Looks like you have an older RV, might be time for some serious TLC on the driveline, just to be sure. Tires, exhaust, brake lines and cooling systems come to mind.

Me? My RV is a '63, I know a little about TLC! Preventive maintenance is always cheaper than repair!

Best of luck with your next FW trip!

So sorry, but your all safe and back home and that's all that matters at this point, hope you got some much needed sleep

Hello Tigger1966 ......... WOW! So sorry to hear about your very difficult and disappointing trip! I am also very glad that no one was hurt and that you and your family are all back home and are all okay!

It is a 1980 but everything is new. Engine, Trans Tires were only 6 or 7 years old. Repaced the front steer tires with 16s and planned to do the same with the rear over the winter.
I have rebuilt it with modern parts.
What I need to find is a fuel tank for a Dodge CB300 the rest is no problem.

So glad you and your family are home safe!

So cool that you are rebuilding and older camper, I love it.

My Dad wants to rebuild and old Airstream once they pay off their motorhome, now, only if I can get him to give it to me when he finishes! I think they are so cool!

Anyway, here's to some pixie dust! pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Wow I'm so very sorry for your accident and having to cancel your vacation. As others have said I am very glad you were not hurt and I hope things work out somehow for you.

Here is a picture uf the lovely campground we spent the night in Saturday.:cloud9: The gas station accross the street had bullet proof glass and a drop window for the cashier:scared1::eek::scared1:

You mean the KMart parking lot isn't in the Good Sam's book in the top 10? Ok, sorry, I shouldn't be joking.

I just wanted you to know, I told your story to my mom today, as that is SO something that would happen to us...she is insisting we fly on our upcoming trip! :rotfl: Even offered her CC to book our airfare. (We don't do CC's, so we wouldn't have had anything with us if we broke down except our vacation money!)

I really hope you have some pixie dust come your way!
