DH and I are pretty good when it comes to planning for WDW when it was just us. Now we have our little princess who will be starting her Disney life!:teeth: Now this is throwing me for a loop; if anyone can give some in sight on what to are MUSTS as far as packing and to do's that would be fantastic. We were thinking about mailing down diapers, wipes and so on. She will be 13 Months at the time of our trip. Any insight would be great as we are coming down to only being two months away to the big day!! So excited can't wait!!!

Thank you!!
Sheila

:welcome:
I would suggest you check out our Disney for Families and Disney Tips forums.

I'm going with my 2YO DD for the first time in September. I'm putting all of that in a check bag. We're flying Southwest and they have free check bags, so we're taking advantage of that. Plus, I called ahead to see if the POR gift shop had those essentials just in case and they do. If you're staying on site, I would call your resort to see if they have them as well.

This was a huge help when we went and we had our little guy who was 22 months at the time. I used zip lock bags for his daily outfits, labeled each one. That way I didn't have to worry about what he was wearing each day. Usually I had 2 outfits per day, since, as you know, 1 outfit a day may not be enough. You can easily pack 2 outfits into one zip lock bag. I squeezed all the air out and I was able to pack all of my DD's clothes AND DS's clothes in ONE suitcase. And still had half the suitcase free to pack more stuff, like a package of diapers, or more shoes for me!! ;) lol

I will never pack any other way. I was able to grab the outfits of the day, dress him the, Throw the other outfit (still in the zip lock bag) into his diaper bag. I also had another "back up" outfit always packed in his diaper bag.

I also put his diaper essentials into a large zip lock bag so I didn't have to worry about dogging around in his bag looking for, ointment, wipes, powder, lotion, diapers etc...

I hope this helps, I'm telling you it was the best idea Ive ever used!!

Also I ordered stuff and had it shipped directly to the resort. It's really easy and convenient and way cheaper than buying diapers at the resort, since a lot of places offer free shipping.

my little one was 13 months when we went. i packed everything she would usually need on a daily basis (of course) and took all that with us. now, when it came to actual park time, we packed her usual diaper bag with a few extra diapers and i carried two things of wipes in the bag. i made sure she had her sippy cup and a few toys or books to keep her occupied if needed. we got a large insulated lunch bag, filled it with ice and water bottles and stuck that in the bottom of the stroller for drinks throughout the day. we hooked a bag (we got a cheap one from the disney store before we left) of snacks to the handle bars with our "mommy clip" you can find those at walmart, babies r us, etc (they are a lifesaver!) and that was about it. we made sure to sunscreen! all the extra food and drink bags were crucial though, it kept her busy while we did all the walking and stuff to do while waiting in lines! make sure to use your fast passes!

Rent a stroller- a city mini. Dont use the park provided ones- uncomfortable for the kids. There are plenty of companies that will deliver to your room. Easy-peasy and worth every penny.
You are going at an extremely hot time of the year- we did the same with a 15 month old. Do not underestimate how much the sun and heat will take out of them. Break the day in half. Go in the early morning and beat the crowds and the heat- go back to the hotel for an afternoon nap and return when the sun is cooler. TTA is from what I hear, a great place to take a nap in air conditioning if you must stay at the park. As far as rides- Dumbo, its a small world, peter pan.
IMPORTANT- you dont realize it now but your trip will be VASTLY different than it was when there were just the two of you. You will be slowed down, you will miss things, you wont hit your favorite rides, and the fireworks you plan on seeing will be curtailed because she is just. wore. out.
But- it will be your most magical trip yet because you will relive every character meeting, every princess sighting, and every WOW moment as if it were the first time. Take this trip slow... and don't be disappointed when you dont get it all done. Take a lot of pictures- that age is excellent for looking back at in an album.
