She had a blast! My brother ( her Godfather) even set up a guy w/a 57 chevy in mint green to pick her up!! She wore a LIME green( her fav color) poodle skirt that I sewed...well,, we have a Bichon Frise and asked me to make the poodle a Bichon..the band was great, we decorated the church basement really neat! Again, my brother to the rescue...he took a bunch of images to Kinko's and had them blown up to 24x36 poster size...all in black/white, and then I took highlighter markers and accented one or two areas of each poster to make them POP. I made a prop pf a chevy convertible and all the kids took turns getting their pictures taken in it...ordered White Castles, Hula Hoop, bazooka gun bubble blowing, limbo, drag racing w/hot wheels...graffitti wall for a keepsake...it really worked out well. Kids all danced and then hooked up the next day for a kick-ball game. So glad we went ahead with it. A lot of work and planning, but really so much fun and NONE of the guests had been to a 50's bash before. All the kids were great and did the stroll and twist and tried to swing dance ....even my DS who will turn 12 in August asked if he can have a 50's party for his 16th! At least I will have the decorations ahead of time for his.
DD is officially SixTeenkerbell!
It sounds like she had a fantastic party and I bet everyone had a lot of fun!! I love it when people go all out and carry through with a theme. You did a great job!!!
