This will be my first time using the DDP, we are traveling on the week of Aug. 27-31,2007....seems like every rest is booked for ADR:confused3
So is it safe to just go and try rests, when we get there to have dinner?....Does anyone know if this time of year parks are extremely crowded?...
TIA, I'm so happy I found this website on my own, since travel agency really can't asnwer all my questions.

The reason it is so busy is that the dining plan is free at that time- therefore everyone has a TS- so everyone is using it. You will NOT get into the restaurants without an ADR- trust me- they turn people away.

Your Travel Agent should know this & should have advised you. I'm a TA and when I book someone during Free Dining (or anyone for that matter) I make sure they realize that they need to make ADRs or they most likely will not get to eat at a sitdown meal.

My suggestion- call Dining Reservations again and ask them to help you find somewhere to eat during your stay- they can look up and see any available place etc.

Good Luck!

Yes, with free dining the restaurants are very busy! Look through the restaurants, make a list of your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice and CALL! Be flexible with your times, and ask the CM for help in finding open times.

Good luck planning!

My friend and her daughter went last year during free dining and didn't have any ADR's in place prior to their arrival.

They went to the concierge desk at their hotel upon check-in and were able to get ADR's for all 7 days that they were there including popular venues like Coral Reef.

Call now and get what you can (be flexible with your times i.e. early/late sittings) and then check with your hotel at check-in.

P.S. Where are you staying? We will be at the Movies August 25 thru September 1.

We will be stayin' at All Star resorts Movies, from the 27-31:cool1:

The thing you need to keep in mind is how many are there going in your party. Last year during free dining my friend had a hard time even getting advance resses. She was a party of five on the plan. I was not on the plan but I still got into anything I wanted. We were only 2 sometimes 3 people. I think its harder to get larger tables because there are so many families with mom ,dad and kids.

Call now and book something for each day/night that you want. Keep trying as you get closer to get your "ideal" reservations - you can change/cancel easily. Better to have something rather than nothing. We got all but one of our ressies and I keep trying to get that last one - if we don't get it we won't cry about it, as we'll have a backup plan. Good luck, keep my fingers crossed for you! :thumbsup2

We'll be at Movies Aug 26-Sept 4.....we've made all of our ADR's already.....not much is availavle for Dinner, but we did get most of our favourites for Lunch and a few Breakfasts at Crystal Palace and WCC
