I am in the process of helping a friend take his first trip to WDW!

He is planning on a late arrival at the resort (9pm or so) and will be in a studio for the first night. He's planning on reserving a 1BR for the next 4 days. Since he will have to move, am I assuming correctly that these can be separate reservations? He would like to do the dining plan, but since he's arriving so late and departing by 11am on his last day, he'd rather not bother with the dining plan for the single night in the studio. Is this possible?:confused3

That is possible. He can have 2 separate reservations and only pay the number of nights that he is in the 1BR.

We have DDP for our 2-night BC stay in November, and are doing pay-as-you-go for the 3 nights following at OKW.

Not only can he have two reservations, since he is changing unit size he must have two reservations. And yes, he can have the DDP only on the 1BR reservation if he'd like.
