DDP when changing DVC resorts

Question: For our upcoming trip to BCV/OKW, we are doing the dining plan. (BCV for the first 5 days and OKW for the next three days.)

I am under the impression that the DDP credits for BCV are distinct from the DDP credits for OKW. That is, I have until midnight of the day I check out of BCV to use my BCV credits because my BCV reservation is separate from my OKW reservation. Then my OKW DDP credits start when I check in at OKW to use by midnight of the day I checkout of OKW.

However, I was told yesterday by a CM at WDW-DINE that they thought all the credits for both resorts would be pooled together. I will call Member Services to confirm. Yet, I am curious what other DVC members have experienced when they bought the dining plan for two DVC resorts on a continuous itinerary. Are the DDP credits for the two resorts separated for use by midnight of the first DVC checkout and then the second DDP is activated upon checkin at the second resort? Or does the entire pool of DDP credits for the whole 8 days activate when I first checkin at BCV?

You are correct, the credits stay with each reservation. In my opion, that's a good thing. You can have the DDP for part of your stay and not be forced to over eat.

Thanks for responding. I agree, especially when my dad will be with us for one reservation, and not the other. No sense in paying for the DDP for someone who is not there!

We are doing a split stay in July and was told by MS that it is separate. When you check in at your first resort you only pay for that part of the DP. And then when you go to the next resort you pay for those nights of the DP. So yes, your credits for the first resort will expire at midnight after checking in at your second resort.

I hope that makes sense. I feel dizzy now.

I agree with you, they are seperate for each reservation at each resort hotel

We just did this last December, and they were seperate.

I have done 2 trips with the DDP and switching.
1) No problem-4 days at BWV and 4 Days at WL
2) 4 days DDP BCV, 1 day No Plan BW,4 days DDP BWV

And I found the 2nd worked the best.Since your credits are good till midnight, we were still able to use "old credits"...on our No Dining plan day. And the next morning we were back on a "new plan"
