DDP vs Grazing at F&W?

I have purchased the DDP for my son and I for our trip in October. I have my ressies made and am happy with them. However, I have been reviewing the various booth offerings at the F&W festival and thinking perhaps it would be possible to graze through dinner for most of our nights at WDW at Epcot and not bother with the DDP? We often head to Epcot at night anyway, after doing a Park day. We have never been to F&W before, so I have no idea if this makes sense, or whether I am trying to make meals, similar to folks who try and make their meals out of the concierge offerings at the Deluxe hotels? Anyone have any input?

We do want to do mostly TS meals to get out of the heat, and be able to sit down for a while for dinner. We are going to do one night out of pocket at the F&W though because we don't want to miss it! And then we will have an extra TS credit so we are going to get to do a signature then another night. Seems like a good plan to me??? :cheer2: I have also heard it is quite expensive at F&W to make a whole meal out of the small offerings. Not sure though, I have never been!

It will likely get very expensive to make a whole dinner out of F&W booth offerings on a daily basis. However, you can use the DDP to your advantage in conjunction with the F&W festival. Most festival offerings can be purchased with a DDP snack credit. So save up your snack credits and you can probably "Eat Around the World" for one meal at little or no extra cost above your DDP.

If you are there on a Saturday you won't get much food unless you stand in massive lines and each little tidbit (yes very small quantities) is at least 4 dollars. Keep the ddp and use snack credits for a few things. Just don't go on a Saturday. We did it last year and I got claustrophobic walking through the huge lines thru world showcase. Horrible. Never again.

The last we went to F&W we were on the DDP and we ended up with many counter service meals left over. We usually ate around the world at lunch and got stuck wasting meal credits. This year we are using the TIW when we go to F&W and we will be free to eat what we want. We didn't find the lines to be too bad but there isn't enough places to sit down to eat. I wish they would provide more seating as it is a little hard to juggle a drink and your food.

For the last several years we have done both, the DDP and snacking Around the World at the F & W fest.
As stated, most food offerings at the booths can be gotten with a DDP Snack Credit. We save and then use our credits to "graze" at the festival.
We usually do one night of F & W and no TS credit, and then use the extra credit for a Signature dinner on another night.
I don' t think you would be happy "grazing" every night of your trip and I think it would be very expensive to do so. I would keep the DDP, but maybe cancel one evening TS on an Epcot day and book a 2 TS Signature on another evening.
Good Luck

Thanks for your feedback! Looks like the general consensus is to keep the DDP. We do have 1 2credit meal booked (Hoop Dee Doo) and I am not a huge fan of big lines so I think we will keep the DDP and just visit a few days during the week for F&W. :thumbsup2

you do not plan a TS meal for your F & WF day. DD and I happily spent our Snack Credits (yes, all food items at F & WF are available for a snack credit on DDP even the $7 lobster roll) noshing around the world and wished we didn't have dinner ressies. Would have rather just continued to nosh. If you do keep the DDP, be sure to save your snack credits for the Festival!!
