Trip planned for mid Sept and looking for "a must" suggestions on restraunts in the DDP. All locations are fine but must be on the DDP. I could also use "don't go near" suggestions as well. Thanks!!!!

if you are going this September- you had better call MS now!!! It is free dining and most TS palces are booked to capactiy. There will be probably no chance of getting a sit down meal at a decent time. With that said- Ohana at the Poly is great, Chef Mickey's character breakfast is always a must for us- great food and character interaction. Coral Reef is good. There is probably no way to get into LeCelier- but I think it is way over rated. The princess dinner in Norway was excellent- highly recommended. Good luck getting some ADRs- We will be there in September and I made mine in March. Planning is half the fun of the vacation!

When we did the DDP, we LOVED Le Cellier (kids included), also did O'hana (very yummy & fun). We also go to Boma at least once one every trip...it's a favorite for food & atmosphere!

For CS, the kids are still talking about the little side trip we took to Coronado Springs. Tons of choices, tons of food, great value for CS.

I would not recommend Coral Reef. The atmosphere was neat, but the food & service left a lot to be desired.

Good luck making those ADR's! Have a wonderful trip. :cool1:

For "only at Disney" experiences:
Eating at the California Grill was the dining highlight of our last trip.
Boma
Sci Fi
Coral Reef
San Angel
Cinderella's Royal Table
O'hana
Whispering Canyon Cafe

Now, not all of those are going to be the greatest food in the universe - but let's be honest - I am sure you can get better food for the $$ at home. All of those restaurants are going to provide and experience that you'd only get at Disney. Atmosphere and theme is a huge part of what makes Disney dining so much fun!

You definitely need to call Disney Dining as soon as possible and see if anything at all is even available. If you are paying for the DDP, you might want to see what is available first. If you can't get anything you want, I'd cancel the dining plan and just eat counter service or cook in your villa. Or eat off site.

We are going Sept. 1-12th and this is going to be our first experience with the ddp! We have ressies for:

Chef Mickey's for breakfast (have eaten there twice for dinner, never breakfast)
Coral Reef for lunch
Hollywood and Vine for breakfast (might pay oop for this)
Primetime 50's Cafe for dinner
Le Cellier for lunch
Spirit of Aloha (using 2 TS for this)
Tony's Town Square for dinner (we ate there for lunch last time we were there and I thought the food was really good. I think this place might get overlooked by a lot of people)

Those are all the ressies I have. We are staying at BWV and there are alot of eateries there. I know for sure that we will eat at ESPN once and probably Spoodles too.

Good luck, if you need good reviews check out the Disney Dining forum as I think every restaurant in the "world" is listed on there along with reviews. It was super helpful to me and its been fun reading!

Musts for us are:
Teppanyaki dining rooms
Jiko
Artist Point
Brown Derby
Garden Grill
Cape May

We also like:
Flying Fish
California Grill
These last two we don't often take in because of inconvenience to get there and wait. I especially feel that way about California Grill. We seem to always have to wait more than an hour when we have ressies there.

We will be there the beginning of Oct. The only place the kids (23, 22, 17) are insisting we go to is the Flying Fish at the Boardwalk. It will use 2 TS but it is worth it. If you DO go, ask for Bob. He is the server extraordinaire!

Deb's right on the money. It's not going to be "Where must I go and what should I avoid?" It's going to be a question of IF you can get anything that will make DDP worthwhile.

You are going to have to be flexible. Some things to consider are: 1) early and late are easier than prime-time dining hours -- especially late, 2) resort restaurants are less in demand than park restaurants, 3) lunch is easier than dinner, and in many cases easier than breakfast, and 4) don't ignore the Signature Dining options if you can't get 1 TS meals (you may find them better values than "settling" for a 1 TS you don't really want).

We just returned from a Fort Wilderness Resort trip in July using the DDP. We had a great experience at LeCellier. It was our sons 15th birthday, and the server was outstanding! We had preordered a birthday cake, but wanted it to be a surprise. When we were done with the meal, she asked everyone for the dessert choices, and then brought out the cake instead. He was floored!
We also did breakfast at the Crystal Palace in MK. Buffet was really good. Hot food was hot, cold was cold. Tigger and Eyore were fun! Buffet at Trails End Resturant in Fort Winderness Resort was excellent. Corn bread was absolute best we've ever had. We also had dinner at Tony's in MK one night. Excellent food and service. Neat how they do birthdays, and a lot of fun!
