DDP questions

I have a question for all you experienced DDP users. We are going down to WDW in 1 week. We have a room at OKW reserved for 2 weeks for 3 people. The second week of our vacation we have 2 more rooms reserved for our two boys and their families. I made all the reservations at one time, so I'm not sure if these are different reservations. We just got to thinking about the DDP and were wondering if I could buy the DDP for our room for 14 days and use it for the whole party. Do they check on those things. It would be all on our room card but we would be paying the bill. Also because I reserved all the rooms at the same time would I have to pay for everyone for all the 2 weeks even though they would only be there 1 week. When I booked the rooms I was sure we would not use the dining plan and only use the DDE so I did not really think this out. It will work any way we do it but just got to thinking. Shouldn't do that. Any help would be appreciated. Will call member services on Monday when I have more time to talk to them.

sounds like you have 3 reservations.
1 for you for the whole time, then 2 more ressies for your boys the 2nd week.

If you booked the dining plan, you woudl only "have" to do it for everyone in each reservation, so you could do all 3 ressies, orjust your 1 room.
Dinign plan would only be applied for the amount of nights each rooms is booked- so if you booked for all of them, yours woudl be for the 14 nights or whatever and then the other 2 rooms for 7 nights.
dining plan is based on the amount of nights you stay.

You cannot book the dining plan and use the credits to pay for meals for people who are not on the dining plan. If your key card says you have two adults on the dining plan, you will be permitted to buy a maximum of two adult meals at a time. You will not be able to purchase meals for the whole table using your credits.

In this case, each separate room is probably a separate reservation, with a separate reservation number, so you could add it for all the rooms.

How would they know if they were on the plan or not? I don't plan on trying to cheat anyone but I was just trying to know how they would know. Thanks for all the great information.

They'll know by your KTTW card. There will be three separate sets of KTTW cards(one set for each room), each say 2A. When you are sitting at Mama Melrose (for example), they will 'know' that you are paying outside of the plan provisions when you say I'm paying for the table and your card says you're entitled to pay for 2A (from looking at your card).

Beyond that it's outside of Disney rules to pay for others who are not on the DDP. So even though you feel that it wouldn't be cheating anyone, they do feel that it would be cheating them.

I think I get that. I am going to crunch the numbers and see how it comes out. I also will call member services to make sure it is 3 different res. Thanks for all your help.
