So we are going in December and our stay is split between SSR and AKV.. We are actually switching rooms in AKV too so tech. 3 moves ( i know i know) anyway.. we are doing the dining plan.. i know its link to ur ressie so are we going to have any problems with using DP points and what not when we are switching?

Since your DDP credits expire the day you check out, I wouldn't say that you are going to have problems, per se, but you are going to need to be aware of which credits are expiring at which points in your vacation. If you do have problems, though, save your receipts and I'm sure a CM can help you sort it out. :thumbsup2

As noted it shouldn't be a problem with a little planning. You'll actually have 3 different Dining Plans that run with each segment of your stay. Just realize that they each start when you check in even if the room is not ready and each end at MN for that portion of the stay. With a little planning it should not be a major issue. It is an opportunity to get the DDP for part but not all or to get different plan types as it might apply to your reservations.

We did a three way split last summer and used the dining plans. The first two nights at BWV was the QSDP, the 2nd two nights at BLT were the regular DDP, and the last 3 nights at VWL was the QSDP.

To help make sure that I used up the correct credits, I labeled one of the KTTW cards with a sharpie on check out day so I knew to use up those credits, before starting my new credits at the new resorts.

Of course, those days, when we went to a CS place, we did have to do the orders as separate so that we could use up credits from stay #1 and then finish up with credits for stay #2.

It wasn't that hard, but you do need to keep track. We are doing the same thing this summer, but with only a two resort switch.

So, let me make sure I understand something, since we leave in a few weeks with split stays. If the reservations are linked, does the dining plan run from beginning to end, or is it two "separate" plans, with one expiring after last day?

Anytime we have done split stays we have always had separate plans. In addition we just got back a couple of weeks ago and DW asked about "linking" the stays and was told that they aren't doing that yet. With a little work having separate plans isn't that bad. Plus like a pp mentioned it is a perfect time to pick different plans. The first part of our stay was at AKV CL so we did the regular plan. The next part was at BLT and we bumped up to the DLX plan. We finished the trip off with the regular plan, because we added a day at the last minute.

You cannot have "linked" reservations @ 2 different resorts. So those are two reservations, with two separate dining plans.

If you stay in the same resort, I *think* it is still the same - as long as you have 2 reservations, you will have to have 2 DDPs, whether MS tells you the reservations are linked or not - they are still 2 separate reservations.

The DDP credits are separate and attached to your KTTW card for each resort.

First resort, card 1, expires at midnight of your checkout from that resort, Second resort, card 2, valid from check in until midnight of your check out.

Use the credits from card 1 first, move, then card 2, etc.

The DDP causes us to over eat so, like Dean, if we buy it, we only buy it for the first part of our stay. There is always plenty of left overs, and snack credits to last us until we go home.

If you are changing rooms (either resorts or room types), each will be a different plan and you will have to use up all the credits from the first stay by midnight of that check out day.

MS only "links" reservations when a guest has the same room view, type, and resort booked so that it can be treated as one reservation.

This is a great opportunity if you match and plan your dining options accordingly.
