DDP or OOP

Thanks so much for all your info and replies. I'm still not sure. :confused3 I do know that I was originally thinking Cali Grill for the first night to watch fireworks. I told DS, and he said he just wanted to swim. :eek: I agree with Susan555, it would be great if Disney would allow 2 CS for 1 TS. That way, if you couldn't make the TS for some reason, you could just cancel and do CS. Maybe they will eventually.

We used TS for CS just last week! Not 2 for 1, but they let us choose 5 items (instead of 3 for the CS) and charged 1 TS credit. Seriously! We did it at Roaring Fork (at the Wilderness Lodge) and Earl of Sandwich in DTD.

We could not do the DP last time we went, because we were renting points from a DVC member and Disney did not incorporate DVC people to use the DP until a week after our stay. I was disappointed, but curious as to whether or not it would save us money, for the same reasons you mention...DH and I are light eaters (but did have a teenage boy and a nearly teenage boy), not wanting to take the time to sit down all the time. so I kept records.

We ate wherever we wanted, and whatever we wanted, and the way I figured it after our trip, we saved money by not doing DP. Not a ton of money, but it was about $80 difference. Nice souvenir money. We did end up at a TS restaurant each day, but sometimes for lunch, not dinner. My DH and I also like to have a beer or glass of wine with dinner, and that would have been OOP with the DP. (I did not count that as part of the comparison because of that.)

We are going to use the DP this time, however. But our circumstances are different...it is only going to be DH and I, plus one of the days were are attending a wedding. And, we really want to go to Narcoosees, and figure that one meal will make up for the cost in and of itself.

Hope this helps.

-Try to figure out ahead of time what park you will be at and plan for dinner at THAT park so you can make the most of your touring and not be so time-conscious and rushed;

I joined the tourguidemike website (he's a sponser on one of these boards) and it was soooooo helpful. I was able to plan what park I would be in months in advance based on his knowledge of the best days to be in the parks and then make my dinner reservations based on those choices. Best $$ ever spent in regards to WDW.

LOVE tour guide Mike. We will use his touring plans if we are able to make this trip (right now airfare for our airline has been doing bad things:mad: ). Very helpful for someone who is not a WDW veteren.

Mama Morganic, were you able to ask the CS to do that or did they suggest it? If that can be done, we would do the DDP.
