I am considering getting the dining plan for DD 4 and I when we take our mother/daughter trip in June. I have never done the dining plan before. At first glance I thought "we'll never use all those ts credits" but then decided to do some math :surfweb:

For 5 nights I figured it would cost a total of $239.90 for both of us. Then consider that we are doing 3 character meals that would cost out of pocket (if not on dining plan) about $125.94 + tips for just those 3 meals. So I'm starting to think DDP would be worth it. Then when I consider that on the plan if you think of it in dollars, would we spend $113.96 over the rest of our vacation (minus those 3 meals) on food if we weren't on the plan. Well, either close to it or over it I'm guessing.

So if I haven't lost you yet, I'm thinking the dining plan would be worth it because of the 3 character meals I have scheduled, and could possibly add a 4th just to really make it worth it, so even if I didn't use all the TS credits I'd be using most of them, and we generally eat 1 meal a day in the resort food court - that's a cs right?

I've just always been confused about the dining plan so we've never used it, but after breaking it down and looking at how much we spent just for meals on our January trip, I think it's worth it - I'd appreciate some advice/input from the experts on the DDP here!

Thanks so much! :yay:

The Dining Plan will cost you $48/night. Breakfast at Chef Mickey's or similar character meal will cost you $42 in June. So that means for $6 you get 2 Snacks and 2 CS meals. If you choose Dinner it will cost you $51, so you get the 2 CS meals, 2 Snacks AND $3 "back" on that day! :thumbsup2

Yes, the Dining Plan is a Fantastic choice for your trip.

By the way, it isn't a Character meal, but Coral Reef was a really good meal and fun experience for us and our 5yo. We had lunch there, but dinner gets good reviews too.

Thanks for your input. I think I'm leaning toward adding it to our package, with the character meals I think it makes pretty good sense.
