I read that DDP menus are not different from regular menus:confused3. Last year we stayed at BWV and had dinner at the Flying Fish. They handed us a different menu when we told them we were on DDP. Has anyone else experienced this?

No. Never. Haven't ever heard of that happening either. Guess I'll skip Flying Fish if they really do that. When did this happen?

We've been to many, many Disney menu restaurants and never were we given a "different" menu because we were on the dining plan. Including some of the signature dining places-always the same menu. Some times the waiter asked if we were on DDP, sometimes they didn't. When they asked it was usually AFTER they gave us the menu. And then it was to explain what was covered ... like when we were on the basic, they'd point out the entree section & the dessert section. When we were on the deluxe, they pointed out the appetizer, entree & dessert. Very occasionally they would explain that maybe one appetizer was not covered (I think there's some sushi dish at Cali Grille that's an entree, not an appetizer - but we weren't ordering that anyway so I didn't pay attention.)

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm not trying to stirr trouble. We are taking some other families along this year and I was telling them about the DDP. One of them will complain if I talk them in to the DDP and a change of menu happens. I'm certain this happened to us, but the change was minor and they probably had an explanation for it. I just did'nt bother to ask. I had a blackened New York strip and it was awsome. I highly recomend the Flying Fish and will go back. Keep the replies coming I need to know if I'm the only person in the history of the world this has happened to. It would not surprise me. I have that whole luck thing going.:rotfl2:

Thanks everyone!:grouphug:

I was on the DxDDP last May. Not being a big breakfast eater, I chose to do an early TS lunch everyday, then a 2 credit Signature Meal every night. I ate at Flying Fish, Artist Point, Yatchsman, California Grill, Jiko, Narcoosee, and Citricos. I was never even asked if I was on the DDP until the waiter handed me the menu. At the Flying Fish I had the calamari, scallops with risotto, and a cheese plate. I definitely ordered off the regular menu.

I go to WDW several times a year and have been using the DDP since the month it first came out. I have never had to order from a different menu. Now the first year it came out there were a few things not included at restaurants not owned by Disney. I know WGP Express had two items at that time that were not included and Planet Hollywood had one item. Those items have since been removed. Also I believe Marrakesh restaurant has two items where you have to pay a surchage, but again not a different menu. Also there are two sushi items at California Grill that you can't get as an appetizer on the DxDDP. I believe those are the only limits on it.
