Hello! Newbie here again:laughing:
I have 2 questions that i have not seen an answer for. I will give examples in the interest of clarity.

1. For a family service meal when you are on the basic dining plan. How does it work? If I go to whispering canyon and myself , hubby and kids all order the platter meal (bare with me.. I can't remember the exact name) or would just the 3 of us on the adult plan get it and ds would order from the kids menu?

I understand that in general kids must order from a kids menu.. I just wasn't sure how that worked in those circumstances.

Question 2.
I was reading the Tutto Italia menu and it had an entree on it that was a entree, appetizer and dessert for one fixed price. I believe Chefs de France had one as well.
Are those included on the ddp or excluded due to the fact they have an appetizer with them. Again... I know that appetizers are no longer allowed. I was just wondering about these two specific meals that are a fixed price on the menu.

I hope that made sense... :)

I can answer the question about WCC...if you go there, the AYCE skillet is included on the dining plan (at least it was previously). Previously, the skillet included a salad appetizer, so I can't say if that's been removed. And they offer a kids skillet as well, so if you all want it, you can have it. Since the skillet is AYCE, you can't order it and allow someone who "should" be using a credit to share it w/o paying for it.

I'm sure someone who has been at the restaurants that offer bundled meals (those that included an appetizer) can tell you if they have changed it under the revised basic plan.

Thank you Janet!:)
I was concerned that ds would want to eat what the rest of us were having but only be allowed kids items. That is perfect that they also have the kids skillet.

At Tutto and at Chefs you can not order the family style meal.At least that is what they said.:goodvibes

When we went to the Garden Grill my son had the option of ordering from a kids menu or eating the food that was served to us. He has allergies and the kids menu was off limits. They took extra care to keep the fish away from his dishes and he was served all seperate from us. Disney was so awesome with his food allergies.

I'm going to add a question onto this. What if you have a child under 3. At buffets are free, but what about w/a AYCE. It looks like they have one a spoodles for breakfast that will work for us. But I wasn't sure about DS#2. If we have to pay for him seperately, I'd probably just have him share w/DS#1 and have some mickey waffles or something as DS#1 isn't a big eater.

I'm lucking out on sitdowns, DS#2 will eat anything and DS#1 is a picky eater, so we can all share with the younger one.

The only time you ever pay for an under 3 is when you opt to order them something separate at a TS. Anywhere that you share form your plate withthe child you will not be charged.

Thank you...

I had asked, because someone once posted how they were charged for a child eating off the skillet at WC, I believe. many had posted that they shouldn't have been, but I don't remember seeing a resolution.

If you are charged, ask for a manager and if that doesn't work to have the charge removed, I would use my cell phone to call for immediate clarification. However, we have never been charged for an under 3, and the last time we went as a large group on the DDP the youngest 15 months shared with the oldest 4 yrs. and we never had more than one child's dining credit deducted from my sisters room key. We did not eat at WCC but at GG, Breakfastasaurus, Crystal Palace, and 50's prime time.

The salad is still there.. and it's quite yummy!! :thumbsup2

Generally, "family style" meals are purchased for TS credits with the dining plan, and everything listed for the meal is included.

Chefs de France "French Menu" and the Artist Point "Northwest Selection" fixed price meals are definitely NOT included on the dining plan. This is not about the appetizer. The Artist Point meal was not included in the dining plan last year...when what is now the basic plan was good for an appetizer. I'm not sure why anybody would have ordered the fixed price meal on the dining plan when all they had to do was pick the same items off the regular menu. Now, I can see why guests would think they might be able to get an appetizer out of it.

I don't have any knowledge regarding Tutto Italia but we do have one poster on this thread that states the fixed price meal there is not included.

However, if you get the Fantasmic Dining Package at the Studios, I understand that it DOES include an appetizer on the basic plan if you eat at Mama Melrose (only the package, not a regular reservation there). I would assume the same is true of Brown Derby.

They should not have been charged if the child was under 3.
