I'm trying to figure out if we should bother with the dining plan for our short trip during food & wine and MNSSHP. We're planning to go for 3 nights, go to Epcot one day and the party the other. I'm guess we'll mostly snack at Epcot, and I don't want to bother with a TS during MNSSHP. However, should we get a free dining offer we won't turn it down.

I guess my question is, when going to F&W, do you also eat a TS that day? I just don't want to assume we won't then we get there and can't get an ADR. Any advice or experiences?

Personally, yes, my family eats a TS meal even with F&W. We normally have F&W for lunch and then a TS meal because by the end of the day we're ready for a break! :)

On MNSSHP nights, we try to get an ADR for around 4-5 pm, so that we're done by the start of the party.

This would be my rough plan:

Day 1: F&W Lunch, TS dinner
Day 2: TS lunch, QS meal dinner (before MNSHHP)

If you are going to still want to go to regular restaurants and make ADRS it may be something you want. I don't do a whole lot of regular restaurant meals during festival, but I don't ever use the dining plan anymore.

You should make ADRS if you even think you are going to want to eat at restaurants in the parks. You can always cancel them.

Thanks, I assumed we'd want a break, nothing like sitting in a nice air conditioned restaurant after traipsing all over Epcot!

We still plan on TS meals during F&W. We will be spending two days at Epcot this fall. The first day, we have ADRs at Via Napoli for lunch and Yachtsman Steakhouse for dinner. The second day, we have ADRs at Le Cellier for lunch and Ohana for dinner. We are using the DxDDP but paying for Via Napoli out of pocket since I plan to just get a large pizza, salads, and drinks for everyone. If it were my decision, I would have skipped this lunch and just snacked at F&W, then eaten at Yachtsman that night, but my two teen sons refuse to just "snack" for a meal. So that ADR was to appease them. I guess what I'm saying is it depends on your family.
